Pancreatic cancer poses a significant challenge in early detection and treatment due to its malignant nature within the digestive tract. Recent studies, such as those conducted by the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, predict that pancreatic cancer will rank as the world's second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in 2020. Various methods have been explored in the literature to segment pancreatic tumors and detect lesions from CT images, crucial for assessing severity. One such method is the Min-Max segmentation algorithm, which effectively removes the jaundiced sclera region from affected eyes by analysing color gradients, offering more feasible and discriminative solutions. Additionally, the utilization of Whale Optimized feature-based selection aids in extracting optimal features for optimization purposes. Through an analysis of different classification algorithms and the implementation of a suggested technique for achieving optimum solutions and maximum accuracy, the proposed work is structured into two phases. Phase I involves pre-processing and artifact removal, followed by segmentation, while Phase II focuses on feature extraction, feature selection, and classification. The initial step of pre-processing the image facilitates pixel location using intensity measures, crucial for accurate tumor segmentation and minimizing false detection. Ultimately, the proposed approach aims to design and develop an optimal feature selection strategy for classifying pancreatic cancer tumors in PET/CT images, resulting in increased classification efficiency 92% and improved cancer tumor detection rates with compare other existing approaches. © 2024 IEEE.

The contagious Corona Virus (COVID-19) transmission can be reduced by following and maintaining physical distancing (also known as COVID-19 social distance). The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends preventing COVID-19 from spreading in public areas. On the other hand, people may not be maintaining the required 2-m physical distance as a mandated safety precaution in shopping malls and public places. The spread of the fatal disease may be slowed by an active monitoring system suitable for identifying distances between people and alerting them. This paper introduced a deep learning-based system for automatically detecting physical distance using video from security cameras. The proposed system introduced the TH-YOLOv5 for object detection and classification and Deepsort for tracking the detected people using bounding boxes from the video. TH-YOLOv5 included another prediction head to identify objects of varying sizes. The original prediction heads are then replaced with Transformer Heads (TH) to investigate the prediction capability of the self-attention mechanism. Then, we include the convolutional block attention model (CBAM) to identify attention areas in settings with dense objects. Pairwise L2 vectorized normalization was utilized to generate a three-dimensional feature space for tracking physical distances and the violation index, determining the number of individuals who follow the distance rules. We use the MS COCO and HumanCrowd, CityPersons, and Oxford Town Centre (OTC) data sets for training and testing. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system obtained a weighted mAP score of 89.5% and an FPS score of 29;both are computationally comparable. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Breast and cervical cancers account for more than 85 percent of all cancer-related fatalities in developing nations, according to the World Cancer Research Fund. As a result, breast and cervical cancer have become one of the leading causes of mortality among women worldwide. This field is still in its infancy, with only a few studies in gynaecology and computer science looking into the detection of breast and cervical cancer. According to the researchers, medical records and early testing from individuals with breast and cervical cancer will be used in this study to determine the prognosis of those suffering from the diseases. To assess our cervical cancer predictions, we employed machine learning models such as Optimized Hybrid Ensemble Classifier (OHEC), which were trained on patient behavior and variables revealed to be associated with patient behavior. The datasets in this study have a substantial number of missing values, and the distribution of those values has been altered as a function of the missing values. OHEC classifier performance has been shown to improve when the number of features is reduced and the problem of high-class imbalance is resolved, because the accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of the classifier, as well as the number of false positives, were used to demonstrate the success of feature selection in the suggested model's predictive analysis. This has been demonstrated through the use of numerous tests involving categorization challenges. The study underscores the critical significance of early detection and prognosis in combating breast and cervical cancers, which remain leading causes of mortality worldwide. Through the utilization of machine learning models like the OHEC, the authors have demonstrated the potential for improved predictive accuracy and clinical outcomes. Recently, the coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19), as named by the World Health Organization (WHO), has spread to over 200 countries. The WHO has declared this disease as a worldwide public health emergency. One of the most difficult tasks in combating this epidemic is to identify and segregate the afflicted people. The reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test (RT-PCR) is the most common pathology test used to diagnose this infection. Studies show that the RT-PCR test has a low-positive rate and sometimes becomes ineffective in diagnosing infection. In some cases, computed tomography (CT) scans reveal acute pneumonia and pulmonary anomalies. Therefore, CT scans are used together with RT-PCR tests to confirm infected people. Existing artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques require a large number of CT scans for training, which is a time-consuming process. Visual inspection shows that most CT scans of COVID-19 cases have broken, blurred, and ambiguous edges for infectious areas. Another major issue with these images is the heterogeneous intensity of the pixels, high noise, and low resolution. As a result of all these issues, the problem of effective edges/boundaries of various areas of CT scans of COVID-19 cases cannot be resolved by the current edge detection approach. Indeed, improper selection of edges can lead to an incorrect diagnosis of diseases through CT scans of COVID-19 cases. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a diagnostic method in addition to the RT-PCR test that can extract useful information from the minimum number of chest CT scans of suspected COVID-19 cases. This study introduces a new ambiguous edge detection method (AEDM) for identifying the edges/boundaries of different regions in CT scans of COVID-19 cases. Deep neural networks, particularly in vision tasks, are notably susceptible to adversarial perturbations. To overcome this challenge, developing a robust classifier is crucial. In light of the recent advancements in the robustness of classifiers, we delve deep into the intricacies of adversarial training and Jacobian regularization, two pivotal defenses. Our work is the first carefully analyzes and characterizes these two schools of approaches, both theoretically and empirically, to demonstrate how each approach impacts the robust learning of a classifier. Next, we propose our novel Optimal Transport with Jacobian regularization method, dubbed OTJR, bridging the input Jacobian regularization with the a output representation alignment by leveraging the optimal transport theory. In particular, we employ the Sliced Wasserstein distance that can efficiently push the adversarial samples’ representations closer to those of clean samples, regardless of the number of classes within the dataset. The SW distance provides the adversarial samples’ movement directions, which are much more informative and powerful for the Jacobian regularization. Our empirical evaluations set a new standard in the domain, with our method achieving commendable accuracies of 52.57% on CIFAR-10 and 28.36% on CIFAR-100 datasets under the AutoAttack. Further validating our model’s practicality, we conducted real-world tests by subjecting internet-sourced images to online adversarial attacks. These demonstrations highlight our model’s capability to counteract sophisticated adversarial perturbations, affirming its significance and applicability in real-world scenarios. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

In the world of networking, security is a top priority. data travels along a path when it is transferred from one location to another, increasing the likelihood that a rogue node would enter the network. Detecting malicious nodes within a network presents a formidable challenge, particularly due to external assaults on data packets during their transmission between nodes. Hackers take advantage of weaknesses to manipulate and alter data as it travels from the source node to the destination node. The surging popularity of online movie databases has created a challenge for viewers: choosing a film from a massive library can be overwhelming. In this paper, it proposes to design a new hybrid movie recommendation powered by machine learning techniques as a solution to improve user experience. Among those techniques, two are combined into this paper: content-based filtering, using the real features of a movie such as genre and a director, and collaborative filtering, which uses the rating provided by users. This hybrid approach thus improves the intrinsic weaknesses that reside in both these methods individually. On the other hand, content-based filtering tends to reduce exploration to movies of the exact type one is doing well at, whereas, inversely, collaborative filtering settings often mean that a user will be exposed only to films within his or her already-recognized taste profile. It is expected that the proposed hybrid system will solve both problems by balancing this line between exploring familiar cinematic territory and making new recommendations based on both user preferences and the entire collective intelligence of the user base. The approach would aim to enrich user satisfaction by facilitating the selection of movies and providing a richer and more diversified movie-viewing experience.

A recent line of works showed regret bounds in reinforcement learning (RL) can be (nearly) independent of planning horizon, a.k.a. the horizon-free bounds. However, these regret bounds only apply to settings where a polynomial dependency on the size of transition model is allowed, such as tabular Markov Decision Process (MDP) and linear mixture MDP. We give the first horizon-free bound for the popular linear MDP setting where the size of the transition model can be exponentially large or even uncountable. In contrast to prior works which explicitly estimate the transition model and compute the inhomogeneous value functions at different time steps, we directly estimate the value functions and confidence sets. We obtain the horizon-free bound by: (1) maintaining multiple weighted least square estimators for the value functions;and (2) a structural lemma which shows the maximal total variation of the inhomogeneous value functions is bounded by a polynomial factor of the feature dimension. © 2024 12th International Conference on Learning Representations, ICLR 2024. The financial markets are inherently volatile, and investors constantly seek ways to mitigate risks while maximizing returns. This work aims to develop a stop-loss hedging strategy for a portfolio of stocks listed on the National Stock Exchange (Nse) to minimize losses and maximize returns. This strategy utilizes real-time market data to adjust stop-load levels dynamically by predicting future stock. This will protect against market downwards. We used long short-term memory (LSTM) neural networks to predict the next stock value. This AI-driven model allows the system to predict the next stock by using real-time market data and adjust the stoploss level accordingly. In addition, this system integrates a hedging strategy. It determines whether to hedge based on the predicted stock price compared to the current price. If the predicted price is less than the current price a hedging strategy like short selling or buying put option is suggested. This automated solution is useful for retail investors. This strategy will protect against losses and returns maximum profits. When the market is upside the stoploss position also increases and will make maximum profits. If the market is downward it will protest from losses by putting a stoploss level and it will return minimum losses. Here we use different algorithms in the work like decision tree, random forest, LSTM, and SVM. Based on the all algorithms we got the highest accuracy for the decision tree and the accuracy is 99.54%. © 2025 IEEE.

In this paper, we develop a 3D based CNN for Improved Segmentation of Paddy Fields from the HSI. Within the scope of this research, we will investigate a unique deep learning model, specifically 3D-CNN. In order to evaluate the validity of the model, it is applied to three separate datasets, each of which is then subjected to one of four distinct dimensionality reduction strategies. The purpose of this is to determine which of these four models is the most effective at reducing the number of dimensions. According to the findings, the 3D-CNN model is superior to both the AlexNet and CNN models in terms of the accuracy of its segmentations. In addition to this, the findings demonstrate that the 3D-CNN models perform better than the other approaches in terms of segmentation accuracy with a smaller number of datasets. © 2023 IEEE.
