Accurate optical bandgap prediction is essential for advancing renewable energy materials, but data scarcity and complex non-linear dependencies limit traditional approaches, especially for C 60 -based materials in organic photovoltaics. We propose a novel data-efficient machine learning framework that integrates Gaussian Process Regression (GPR) with Density Functional Theory (DFT) simulations to predict absorbance spectra and compute optical bandgaps from limited data. Our approach leverages Bayesian inference for uncertainty quantification, significantly reducing reliance on computationally expensive DFT calculations while maintaining accuracy. We demonstrate that our method generalizes across $\mathbf{C}_{60}$ and functionalized derivatives, enabling scalable and cost-effective bandgap prediction with minimal training samples.

The field of clinical natural language processing (NLP) can extract useful information from clinical text. Since 2017, the NLP field has shifted towards using pre-trained language models (PLMs), improving performance in several tasks. Most of the research in this field has focused on English text, but there are some available PLMs in Spanish. In this work, we use clinical PLMs to analyze text from admission and medical reports in Spanish for an insurance and health provider to give a probability of no coverage in a labor insurance process. Our results show that fine-tuning a PLM pretrained with the provider's data leads to better results, but this process is time-consuming and computationally expensive. At least for this task, fine-tuning publicly available clinical PLM leads to comparable results to a custom PLM, but in less time and with fewer resources. Analyzing large volumes of insurance requests is burdensome for employers, and models can ease this task by pre-classifying reports that are likely not to have coverage. Our approach of entirely using clinical-related text improves the current models while reinforcing the idea of clinical support systems that simplify human labor but do not replace it. To our knowledge, the clinical corpus collected for this study is the largest one reported for the Spanish language. © 2023 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Person and Vehicle Re-Identification (Re-ID) is a critical task in the realm of intelligent industrial surveillance systems. It aims to identify the same person or vehicle across different camera views or scenes, facilitating individual tracking across multiple cameras within industrial environments. Re-Id in an industrial environment can be more challenging than in a general environment due to its unique setting and limited annotated dataset. Hence, this paper focuses on addressing the fully unsupervised re-ID problem, aiming to develop a re-ID solution that can learn without the need for any human-annotated labeled data. Furthermore, recent studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of self-supervised Momentum Contrastive learning (MoCo) as an unsupervised object re-ID method. However, MoCo neglects the hard sample learning. Here, we introduced Relative Hard Samples (RHS) learning to ensure selection in an adaptive and stable way by considering the characteristics of each sample. Experimental results confirm the effectiveness of our proposed hard sample learning strategy RHS selection and RHS learning. Comprehensive experiments have been conducted on one vehicle re-ID dataset and two person re-ID datasets.

The advent of the Internet and portable devices, including smartphones and watches, has brought unprecedented opportunities for embedded application systems developments. Along with these developments, there is an increasing need for embedded devices to handle important services, such as the ability to pay bills or manage bank accounts remotely via mobile phones. Such applications and developments have also highlighted the issues of cyberattacks and computing network security - these developments have made mobile phones a potential target for malware, trojans, and viruses, so it is critical to design a set of security technologies for embedded devices. In fact, security has become an essential requirement in the process of embedded system design. Thus, ARM has proposed system-level security solutions based on TrustZone technology. TrustZone technology is tightly integrated with Cortex™-A processors and extends the system through the AMBA® AXI bus and specific TrustZone system IP blocks to protect peripherals such as secure memory, encryption blocks, keyboards, and screens from software attacks. It divides the system into TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) and REE (Rich Execution Environment) by hardware and provides intrinsic software security services and interfaces. More precisely, it has built system security by combining hardware and software. It is worth noting that it does not influence performance, power consumption, and area as much as possible. Owing to such characteristics, the technology has gained the wide attention of researchers worldwide. There is lack of systematic documentation of the technology. Therefore, this paper documents the significant progress achieved in the field. In particular, this article mainly analyses the primary mechanism implementation, and how to build the Trusted Execution Environment in different environments. In this paper we consider the modeling of measurement error for fund returns data. In particular, given access to a time-series of discretely observed log-returns and the associated maximum over the observation period, we develop a stochastic model which models the true log-returns and maximum via a Lévy process and the data as a measurement error there-of. The main technical difficulty of trying to infer this model, for instance Bayesian parameter estimation, is that the joint transition density of the return and maximum is seldom known, nor can it be simulated exactly. Based upon the novel stick breaking representation of [12] we provide an approximation of the model. We develop a Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithm to sample from the Bayesian posterior of the approximated posterior and then extend this to a multilevel MCMC method which can reduce the computational cost to approximate posterior expectations, relative to ordinary MCMC. The use of group classifiers on similar features has resulted in computationally expensive and tedious, making them unsuitable for online applications. The clustering techniques are evaluated for both inter-subject and intra-subject variations, and it is discovered that intra-subject order execution is superior. Another approach to dealing with object recognition from medical images is considered. This is known as similarity matching, and it is a computationally simple process as compared to costly and complex characterization computations. The major challenges that occur in the image processing are high noise levels, limited image resolution, and geometric deformations throughout the image.

In real-world datasets, leveraging the low-rank and sparsity properties enables developing efficient algorithms across a diverse array of data-related tasks, including compression, compressed sensing, matrix completion, etc. Notably, these two properties often coexist in certain real-world datasets, especially in Boolean datasets and quantized real-valued datasets. To harness the advantages of low-rank and sparsity simultaneously, we adopt a technique inspired by compressed sensing and Boolean matrix completion. Our approach entails compressing a low-rank sparse Boolean matrix by performing inner product operations with a randomly generated Boolean matrix. We then propose a decoding algorithms based on message-passing techniques to recover the original matrix. Our experiments demonstrate superior recovery performance of our proposed algorithms compared to Boolean matrix completion, with equal measurement requirements. © 2025 IEEE.

Website phishing, a notable cybercrime, involves deceiving individuals by impersonating legitimate websites. URL spoofing, a common technique in website phishing, involves creating website names. The primary objective of this paper is to accurately differentiate between legitimate and phishing sites using relevant URL attributes and different binary classification machine learning algorithms. This study compares simple, bagging, and boosting algorithms across performance analysis metrics. The best-performing models are selected for an ensemble approach. Additionally, various hyperparameter tuning techniques are assessed for the Random Forest Classifier, and Explainable AI methods like LIME and SHAP are used to interpret findings. The experiment yields optimal parameters, achieving 89. % accuracy with an ensemble model with K-Nearest Neighbors, Decision Tree, XG Boost, and Cat Boost. These findings highlight the significance of ensemble models and hyperparameter tuning in machine learning.

The fundamental matrix is the mainstream solution to computer vision problems such as 3D reconstruction, real-time location and map building. Accuracy and efficiency are two main measurement indexes in fundamental matrix estimation. When the accuracy is not enough, it often needs to be corrected through back-end optimization and other costly ways, and low efficiency will affect the real-time performance of the system. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a new estimation method of fundamental matrix based on improved quasi affine transformation. Specifically, based on the QUATRE algorithm, this method first proposes a population cooperation method based on a specific "gene-chromosome" pattern. Secondly, combining the advantages of NSGA-II in solving multi-objective problems, the Pareto dominance relationship of the population chromosome was firstly calculated according to the objective function of mean polarity distance and internal points in the way of NSGA-II, and the crowding degree was also calculated. The operations of population initialization, mutation and crossover in the discrete solution space represented by the homogeneous coordinate system are redefined. The selection operation is then performed according to the elite policy of NSGA-II. In addition, a confidence-based method to determine the number of iterations is proposed to accelerate the algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively eliminate noise and mismatching, and is superior to the current mainstream methods in accuracy and efficiency, and can effectively solve the problem of fundamental matrix estimation. © 2021 Global Research Online. Heart disease is the world's leading cause of increasing death rates. Although there is a lot of research in the medical sector, an efficient and reliable model to predict this disease at an early stage is still required. So, early diagnosis of heart disease is the most promising strategy for effective treatment. In this paper, we utilize the Genetic algorithm (GA) to select attributes, which are used as input for the machine learning algorithms Deep Learning(DL), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Neural network (NN), Naive Bayes (NB), and Logistic regression (LR). The two datasets of heart disease are used for model implementation. The results evaluation is measured using accuracy, precision, and f-measure. The proposed model achieves the 92% result in the term of accuracy. In terms of precision, 96% result is achieved. © 2021 IEEE.
