Modified CNN Model for Classifying Gender of Thermal Images Using Cloud Computing

The utilization of thermal images has become widespread in various applications, particularly for thermal examination and night surveillance systems. Although many details associated with thermal imaging are virtually obscured or unclear, thermal imaging offers numerous benefits, including the ability to determine an individual's gender even in cases where human vision is impaired. Based on thermal faces, a convolutional neural network (CNN) has been developed to distinguish between people's genders. Since cloud computing offers a suitable setting and gained attraction, its concept has been adopted. Thermal databases were used for the experiments. The suggested model provides an overall accuracy of 99% and a gender categorization precision of 97.75%. © 2023 Slovene Society Informatika. All rights reserved.

Software effort estimation using convolutional neural network and fuzzy clustering

Adopting an efficient software process model is critical for building high-quality software applications. An important factor impacting the software development process is an accurate estimate of human effort required to complete the software project. While machine learning methods were historically used to develop estimation models, there has been little investigation into the potential of deep convolutional neural networks (DCNNs) for improving software effort estimation. One of the biggest obstacles in using DCNN for this purpose is the common nature of software datasets, which often consist of vectorized samples rather than matrices. To defeat this obstacle and reduce vagueness in software attribute measurement, this study uses Fuzzy theory to generate an appropriate two-dimensional datapoint representation. The fuzzy clustering is commonly used to split dataset samples into separate clusters, which can help to generate Fuzzy membership functions. This approach makes it easier to generate a two-dimensional array representation for each data sample based on the membership values, allowing it to be used as input to the DCNN model. The efficiency of the proposed model was thoroughly evaluated using PROMISE benchmark datasets. The findings based on mean absolute errors and standardized accuracy show that our proposed model produced very good performance with low error rates and outperformed several current state-of-the-art effort estimation models. Nonetheless, further research is needed to determine the impact of different cluster numbers and features on the performance of our model. In conclusion, this study emphasizes the possibility for incorporating DCNN into software effort estimates and highlights the viability of utilizing fuzzy modeling and clustering techniques to enhance the data representation of software datasets. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

The amount of information nowadays is rapidly growing. Aside from valuable information, information that is unrelated to a target or is meaningless is also growing. Big data and broader digital technologies are considered the primary components of smart city governance and planning. Big data analysis is considered to define a new era in urban planning, research, and policy. Effective data mining and pattern detection techniques are becoming very important these days. Processing such a large amount of data entails the use of data mining, a technique that clarifies the association between valid information and excludes irrelevant data to implement a practical decision tree. A large amount of data affects processing time and I/O costs during data mining. This study proposes to distribute data among multiple clients and distribute a large amount of data computation equally to improve the resource cost problem of exploration. Following that, the main server consolidates the computation results and generates the survey results. Experiment results show that the proposed algorithm is superior, thus allowing a larger amount of data to be processed while producing high-quality results. © 2023 - IOS Press. All rights reserved.

The thyroid gland, a pivotal regulator of essential physiological functions, orchestrates the production and release of thyroid hormones, playing a vital role in metabolism, growth, development, and overall bodily functions. While thyroid nodules are predominantly benign, certain cases may manifest malignancy, leading to thyroid cancer. Despite the generally favorable prognosis, early detection and intervention remain paramount for optimal outcomes. Given the limitations in clinical data, this paper introduces an innovative approach employing a modified XGBoost model that integrates both clinical and molecular properties into a unified predictive model. Utilizing fine-needle aspiration biopsies and gene expression analysis, our model aims to enhance cancer prediction in thyroid nodules. We explore the influence of incorporating high-quality clinical data on the prioritized gene set, employing a nature-inspired method for hyperparameter optimization. The modified XGBoost model emerges as highly recommended for non-parametric feature selection, extraction, and prediction due to its remarkable accuracy. Our proposed model attains an impressive 94.6% accuracy, surpassing other machine learning models such as C5.0 (92.5%), CART (88.7%), CHAID (83.4%), Quest (81.5%), LSVM (77%), and random tree (24.1%). The real-time efficiency of our model is demonstrated in the results section. Experiments showcase the superior performance of combined molecular and clinical data-based prediction models. Emphasis is placed on the importance of scrutinizing the origins of clinical data and maintaining vigilance over variable quality. This study signifies a substantial advancement in thyroid cancer prediction, offering a robust and accurate model that integrates diverse data sources, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Due to the unclear distribution characteristics and causes of fluoride in groundwater of Mihe-Weihe River Basin(China),there is a higher risk for the future development and utilization of ***,based on the systematic sampling and analysis,the distribution features and enrichment mechanism for fluoride in groundwater were studied by the graphic method,hydrogeochemical modeling,the proportionality factor between conventional ions and factor *** results show that the fluorine content in groundwater is generally on the high side,with a large area of medium-fluorine water(0.5–1.0 mg/L),and high-fluorine water is chiefly in the interfluvial lowlands and alluvial-marine plain,which mainly contains HCO_(3)·Cl-Na-and HCO_(3)^(-)Na-type *** vertical zonation characteristics of the fluorine content decrease with increasing depth to the water *** high flouride groundwater during the wet season is chiefly controlled by the weathering and dissolution of fluorine-containing minerals,as well as the influence of rock weathering,evaporation and *** weak alkaline environment that is rich in sodium and poor in calcium during the dry season is the main reason for the enrichment of ***,an integrated assessment model is established using rough set theory and an improved matter element extension model,and the level of groundwater pollution caused by fluoride in the Mihe-Weihe River Basin during the wet and dry seasons in the Shandong Peninsula is defined to show the necessity for local management measures to reduce the potential risks caused by groundwater quality.

The continuous revolution in Artificial Intelligence (AI) has played a significant role in the development of key consumer applications, including Industry 5.0, autonomous decision-making, fault diagnosis, etc. In practice, autonomous and intelligent robots and flying vehicles (i.e., drones) are also becoming the integral part of Industry 5.0. These vehicles are attaining significant importance nowadays because of their applications in consumer electronics. However, there may be numerous privacy issues in such an infrastructure. Nevertheless, neural computing-driven security solutions have played a significant role in overcoming the security and privacy issues of AI-driven intelligent flying vehicles. Motivated by these facts, this article presents a neural computing-based access control protocol for AI-driven flying vehicles to prevent all possible security threats. A detailed security evaluation of the devised protocol is done formally using the extensively recognized Real-Or-Random (ROR) oracle model. Similarly, the informal security analysis ensures the resistance of our scheme against various potential attacks under the assumptions of CK and DY adversarial models. Moreover, detailed performance scrutiny of the devised protocol with various existing schemes shows the robustness and supremacy of our scheme in terms of computation, communication overhead, and security attributes. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Globalization, industry, and population growth is considered the main reasons for climate change, so when some natural calamity or disaster occurs in any area, it leads to isolating this area from the rest of the region. Wireless ad hoc networks are important in disaster management to reduce losses and costs as they reduce the response, aiding time to save lives. However, they suffer from limited energy, which controls the lifetime of the sensor. Different methods are applied to save energy and increase battery life, such as sleep-awake schedules which assume similar initial energy for all nodes. Domestic partition in a unit disk graph is the production of the maximum possible number of such disjoint dominants. However, it assumes different initial energy levels for all nodes, which is another problem. In this paper, a new broadcast approach based on minimum set data broadcasting is proposed to mini-mize the number of broadcasting messages to increase the battery life during disasters and enhance rescue operations. The proposed minimum rebroadcast algorithm (MSRA) method balances coverage and utilization efficiency by dynamically adjusting node selection based on network conditions. The results show that MSRA significantly reduces power consumption and transmission latency, opening the way to find a new solution for disaster management using wireless ad hoc networks. © 2024 by the authors of this article.

An efficient Quasi-Affine Transformation Evolutionary algorithm with fixed dimension updating and its application in UAV 3D path planning

Quasi-Affine Transformation Evolutionary (QUATRE) algorithm is a kind of swarm-based collaborative optimization algorithm that solves the problem of a position deviation in a DE search by using the co-evolution matrix M instead of the cross-control parameter CR in the differential evolution algorithm (DE). However, QUATRE shares some of the same weaknesses as DE, such as premature convergence and search stagnation. Inspired by the artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC), we propose a new QUATRE algorithm to improve these problems that ranks all the individuals and evolves only the poorer half of the population. In an evolving population, individuals of different levels intersect with dimensions of different sizes to improve search efficiency and accuracy. In addition, we establish a better selection framework for the parent generation individuals and select more excellent parent individuals to complete the evolution for the individuals trapped in search stagnation. To verify the performance of the new QUATRE algorithm, we divide the comparison algorithm into three groups, including ABC variant group, DE variant group, and QUATRE variant group, and the CEC2014 test suite is used for the comparison. The experimental results show the new QUATRE algorithm performance is competitive. We also successfully apply the new QUATRE algorithm on the 3D path planning of UAV, and compared with the other famous algorithm performance it is still outstanding, which verifies the algorithm's practicability. © 2024 - IOS Press. Several studies have been conducted in several sectors to determine the factors influencing the adoption of cloud computing (CC) technology at the individual or organizational level. These studies demonstrated the ability of CC to reduce expenses and provide high flexibility in resource management. However, studies in Yemen and Yemeni higher education institutions (HEIs) are still scarce, and no institution has adopted CC due to security and privacy concerns. This research developed an integrated theoretical model to investigate the factors affecting the adoption of CC in Yemeni HEIs. The developed theoretical model is based on the models of the technology and organization environment (TOE) framework and the diffusion of innovations model. A quantitative approach was used, and partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze and validate the proposed model on the basis of data from 170 participants from academics and IT employees at Yemen universities. The findings revealed that relative advantage, compatibility, security concerns, technological readiness, and senior management support had a significant effect on the adoption of CC in Yemeni HEIs. This study contributes to identifying the most important factors influencing the adoption of CC in HEIs. In addition, I presented a conceptual framework that combines the two theories of DOI-TOE. The results of this research may help HEIs develop a strategy for the adoption of CC by recognizing the key factors in their institutions. © 2024 IEEE.

Chatbots use artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to construct a clever system. By copying human connections in the most helpful way possi-ble, chatbots emulate individuals and serve as virtual assistants. They easily interface and respond to customers' requests. In the modern technical environment, these conversation agents or chatbots are considered the next-generation invention. Chatbot has become more popular in the business field right now as it can reduce customer service cost and handle multiple users at a time. There are many techniques used to involve such intelligent experts in daily business. A comprehensive analysis of the methods is needed to determine the viability of the different strategies. This paper tracks the progress of this invention and further clarifies the influence of chatbots on numerous businesses. Besides, a survey of the multiple chatbot methodologies suggested by various researchers is provid-ed. Along with the survey, a chatbot e-commerce customer service is designed to provide an efficient and accurate answer for any query based on the dataset of frequently asked questions.
