Quantum Fourier Transform Using Dynamic Circuits

In dynamic quantum circuits, classical information from midcircuit measurements is fed forward during circuit execution. This emerging capability of quantum computers confers numerous advantages that can enable more efficient and powerful protocols by drastically reducing the resource requirements for certain core algorithmic primitives. In particular, in the case of the n-qubit quantum Fourier transform followed immediately by measurement, the scaling of resource requirements is reduced from O(n2) two-qubit gates in an all-to-all connectivity in the standard unitary formulation to O(n) midcircuit measurements in its dynamic counterpart without any connectivity constraints. Here, we demonstrate the advantage of dynamic quantum circuits for the quantum Fourier transform on IBM’s superconducting quantum hardware with certified process fidelities of >50% on up to 16 qubits and >1% on up to 37 qubits, exceeding previous reports across all quantum computing platforms. These results are enabled by our contribution of an efficient method for certifying the process fidelity, as well as of a dynamical decoupling protocol for error suppression during midcircuit measurements and feed forward within a dynamic quantum circuit that we call “feed-forward-compensated dynamical decoupling.” Our results demonstrate the advantages of leveraging dynamic circuits in optimizing the compilation of quantum algorithms.

Composite materials and structures are becoming more efficient and cost-effective, and new special features are being developed to improve their specific properties. Their use in a variety of applications such as wind turbines, aeronautical, medical equipment, transportation, and other load-bearing structures is becoming increasingly important. It is necessary for non-destructive composite examining to be robust and trustworthy in order to limit the risk of damage as well as the cost of maintenance. In order to ensure the product quality throughout its life cycle, many non-destructive examining procedures based on a wide range of concepts have been created. In this paper, nondestructive examining was used to obtain vibration measurements of composites in high-frequency regimes, which were then analysed. Both end-to-end classifications of the data and classifications of data acquired by feature engineering with modal analysis employ Support Vector Machine (SVM) to carry out damage localization in their respective applications. Finally, the findings display a large number of plates made of various materials and with defects of varying magnitudes. © 2023 IEEE.

This research focuses on enhancing the performance of data transmission in the Internet of Things (IoT) by leveraging LoRa technology. Specifically, it utilizes the LILYGO 923 MHz LoRa32 board, which integrates the ESP32 microcontroller with a LoRa module and additional devices like a 0.96-inch OLED display. This board also features a serial converter interface, simplifying the programming process, and uses a micro USB connection for both power and uploading code. One of the goals of this research is to enable the transmission of images using LoRa, though currently, only image conversion during transmission is implemented. The study includes reliability testing of the LoRa module over a distance of 10 km. The results show that the Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) for Spreading Factor (SF) 7 is 50%, while for SF 12, it improves to 85%. Additionally, the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) measurements at a distance of 1000 meters with 3 Non-Line-of-Sight (NLoS) conditions yielded values of -120 dBm, -90 dBm, and -78 dBm. These results highlight the potential of LoRa technology in improving IoT data transmission, especially for long-range applications. © 2024 IEEE.

Non-orthogonal multiple access is one of the best methods for addressing the needs of 5G wireless services (NOMA). The proliferation of mobile devices in recent years has increased the importance of cooperative spectrum sharing and utilization in wireless communication due to increases in the bit error rate (BER) brought on by collisions and interference. In this study, MIMO and Massive MIMO (M-MIMO) in the downlink (DL) NOMA power domain (PD) in conjunction with the Cooperative Cognitive Radio network are proposed as two new ways for improving and evaluating BER in the 5G network (CCRN). Customers of NOMA compete for available channels on the CCRN in this first strategy. The second approach creates a dedicated channel for NOMA users. Three scenarios with varying distances, power location coefficients, and transmission power are used to evaluate the proposed methods in the MATLAB software program. It is assumed that four users will share a 90 MHz BW using QPSK modulation in all three scenarios. When evaluating the performance of the suggested system under the presumption of frequency-selective Rayleigh fading, concurrent interference cancellation (SIC) and unstable channel conditions are also considered. © 2023 IEEE.

In many underwater application scenarios, recognition tasks need to be executed promptly on computationally limited platforms. However, models designed for this field often exhibit spatial locality, and existing works lack the ability to capture crucial details in images. Therefore, a lightweight and detail-aware vision network (LDVNet) for resource-constrained environments is proposed to overcome the limitations of these approaches. Firstly, in order to enhance the accuracy of target image recognition, we introduce transformer modules to acquire global information, thus addressing the issue of spatial locality inherent in traditional convolutional neural networks (CNNs). Secondly, to maintain the network's lightweight nature, we integrate the transformer module with convolutional operations, thereby mitigating the substantial parameter and floating point operations (FLOPs) overhead. Thirdly, for the efficient extraction of crucial fine-grained details from feature maps, we have devised a channel and spatial attention module (C&SA). This module aids in recognizing intricate and fine-grained visual tasks and enhances image understanding. It is seamlessly integrated into LDVNet with nearly negligible parameter overhead. The experimental results demonstrate that LDVNet outperforms other lightweight networks and hybrid networks in different recognition tasks, while being suitable for resource-constrained environments. © 2023 IEEE.

Artificial intelligence (AI) education is becoming an advanced learning trend in programming education. However, AI subjects can be difficult to understand because they require high programming skills and complex knowledge. This makes it challenging to determine how different departments of students are affected by them. This study draws on research in programming education and STEM education to explore the different factors that affect students in AI learning. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of AI learning platforms on information undergraduate and non-information undergraduate by using a research model. The course was implemented for 65 students in the information undergraduate group and 39 students in the non-information undergraduate group. The findings showed that the two groups had different learning effects under different variables. Students with different cognitive styles may use different skills to positively influence self-regulated learning. This study provides important evidence to understand the learning impact of artificial intelligence among university students from different disciplines.

In this letter, a novel power divider with a wide tunable range of power ratios and reconfigurable output phase differences is proposed. The tunable power ratio is implemented by replacing the branch transmission line of the conventional Gysel power divider. The branch transmission line equivalent circuit consists of three short-circuited varactors cascaded through two sections of transmission lines. Moreover, by selecting appropriate capacitances of the varactors, the proposed novel power divider can operate either in an in-phase mode or out-of-phase mode. Finally, the electromagnetic (EM) simulation of six examples was conducted and one experimental circuit of the proposed novel power divider was fabricated. The simulation and measurement results verified the feasibility of the proposed novel power divider. © 2024 IEEE.

Geoscience knowledge graph(GKG)can organize various geoscience knowledge into a machine understandable and computable semantic network and is an effective way to organize geoscience knowledge and provide knowledge-related *** a result,it has gained significant attention and become a frontier in *** knowledge is derived from many disciplines and has complex spatiotemporal features and relationships of multiple scales,granularities,and ***,establishing a GKG representation model conforming to the characteristics of geoscience knowledge is the basis and premise for the construction and application of ***,existing knowledge graph representation models leverage fixed tuples that are limited in fully representing complex spatiotemporal features and *** address this issue,this paper first systematically analyzes the categorization and spatiotemporal features and relationships of geoscience *** this basis,an adaptive representation model for GKG is proposed by considering the complex spatiotemporal features and *** the constraint of a unified spatiotemporal ontology,this model adopts different tuples to adaptively represent different types of geoscience knowledge according to their spatiotemporal *** model can efficiently represent geoscience knowledge,thereby avoiding the isolation of the spatiotemporal feature representation and improving the accuracy and efficiency of geoscience knowledge *** can further enable the alignment,transformation,computation,and reasoning of spatiotemporal information through a spatiotemporal ontology.
