Smart industrial IoT empowered crowd sensing for safety monitoring in coal mine

The crowd sensing technology can realize the sensing and computing of people,machines,and environment in smart industrial IoT-based coal mine,which provides a solution for safety monitoring through distributed intelligence ***,due to the difficulty of neural network training to achieve global optimality and the fact that traditional LSTM methods do not consider the relationship between adjacent machines,the accuracy of human body position prediction and pressure value prediction is not *** solve these problems,this paper proposes a smart industrial IoT empowered crowd sensing for safety monitoring in coal ***,we propose a Particle Swarm Optimization-Elman Neural network(PE)algorithm for the mobile human position ***,we propose an ADI-LSTM neural network prediction algorithm for pressure values of machines supports in underground *** them,our proposed PE algorithm has the lowest average cumulative prediction error,and the trajectory fit rate is improved by 24.1%,13.9%and 8.7%compared with Kalman filtering,Elman and Kalman plus Elman algorithms,***,compared with single-input ARIMA,RNN,LSTM,and GRU,the RMSE values of our proposed ADI-LSTM are reduced by 36.6%,52%,32%,and 13.7%,respectively;and the MAPE values are reduced by 0.0003%,0.9482%,1.1844%,and 0.3620%,respectively.

The rapid development and usage of digital technologies in modern intelligent systems and applications bring critical challenges on data security and privacy. It is essential to allow cross-organizational data sharing to achieve smart service provisioning, while preventing unauthorized access and data leak to ensure end users' efficient and secure collaborations. Federated Learning (FL) offers a promising pathway to enable innovative collaboration across multiple organizations. However, more stringent security policies are needed to ensure authenticity of participating entities, safeguard data during communication, and prevent malicious activities. In this paper, we propose a Decentralized Federated Graph Learning (FGL) with Lightweight Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) model, named DFGL-LZTA, to provide context-aware security with dynamic defense policy update, while maintaining computational and communication efficiency in resource-constrained environments, for highly distributed and heterogeneous systems in next-generation networking. Specifically, with a re-designed lightweight ZTA, which leverages adaptive privacy preservation and reputation-based aggregation together to tackle multi-level security threats (e.g., data-level, model-level, and identity-level attacks), a Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) based Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) agent is introduced to enable the real-time and adaptive security policy update and optimization based on contextual features. A hierarchical Graph Attention network (GAT) mechanism is then improved and applied to facilitate the dynamic subgraph learning in local training with a layer-wise architecture, while a so-called sparse global aggregation scheme is developed to balance the communication efficiency and model robustness in a P2P manner. Differential signals are key in control engineering as they anticipate future behavior of process variables and therefore are critical in formulating control laws such as proportional-integral-derivative(PID).The practical challenge,however,is to extract such signals from noisy measurements and this difficulty is addressed first by *** in the form of linear and nonlinear tracking differentiator(TD).While improvements were made,TD did not completely resolve the conflict between the noise sensitivity and the accuracy and timeliness of the *** two approaches proposed in this paper start with the basic linear TD,but apply iterative learning mechanism to the historical data in a moving window(MW),to form two new iterative learning tracking differentiators(IL-TD):one is a parallel IL-TD using an iterative ladder network structure which is implementable in analog circuits;the other a serial IL-TD which is implementable digitally on any computer *** algorithms are validated in simulations which show that the proposed two IL-TDs have better tracking differentiation and de-noise performance compared to the existing linear TD.

It has recently been shown that there are no multimedia fingerprinting codes that can find all malicious users when they use arbitrary linear attacks plus adversarial noise. It is shown that such codes exist if the complete recovery property is limited to the IPP property, i.e., the property to find at least one malicious user. Moreover, we extend this property to a property that allows us to detect all users whose contribution to the forgery is large enough. Efficient decoding (tracing traitors) algorithms are developed for these codes. © 2023 IEEE.

Incorporating Internet of Things (IoT) algorithms, Ensemble Learning, and Explainable AI (XAI) into the Reinforcement Learning framework provides a comprehensive solution. The framework's dynamic paradigm for precision agriculture increases output while decreasing resource consumption. The system adapts to its environment in real-time based on what it has learned via its previous experiences, thanks to Reinforcement Learning. By incorporating IoT algorithms, agricultural machinery may more easily gather and exchange data with cloud servers, improving precision and flexibility. By merging many models to provide reliable results, Ensemble Learning allows us to significantly enhance our predictive abilities. The usage of XAI, which provides context and justification for computations, has the potential to increase public confidence in AI-powered agricultural systems. It demystifies decision-making and arms participants with relevant information. In order to take use of the scalability and processing capacity of cloud resources, agricultural algorithms may now be readily installed and controlled with the help of this framework. Data mining algorithms have the potential to change agriculture by fostering sustainable practices and addressing challenges of global food security, as this research elucidates. © 2023 IEEE.

We reviewed the application of modern technology for rapid and accurate multi-person real-time pose detection in the hazardous field of electrical engineering. We focused on two leading pose detection technologies: YOLOv8 and OpenPose. Human face image generation can be used in media, marketing, education, creativity, research and privacy protection. Many deep learning networks have been proposed for generating high-resolution human face images, while the quality of generated human face images are not fully investigated. To bridge this gap, 11 StyleGAN-based networks are firstly trained via the database Flickr-Faces-HQ (FFHQ). Then, each network produces 10,000 high-resolution (1024 × 1024) human face images. After that, the quality of these generated images are evaluated with 6 Face Image Quality Assessment (FIQA) metrics. The average metric values suggest that the generated human face images are with higher quality than the realistic images in the FFHQ database. However, the failure cases of generated images remind us that artifacts and distortions exist, and unreasonable combinations and meaningless contents are produced. Therefore, significant progress is still required for achieving reliable quality assessment and high-accuracy generation of human faces. © 2024 IEEE.

Wireless/wired integrated transmission for industrial cyber-physical systems: risk-sensitive co-design of 5G and TSN protocols

The growing popularity of intelligent manufacturing is driven by deterministic transmission demands of applications in industrial cyber-physical systems(ICPS). However, the ossified shortages of industrial wireless communication such as diverse quality of service(Qo S) and complex signaling processes incur a severe long tail of transmission delay distribution. As a solution, the 5 th generation(5 G) wireless communication technology provides ultra-reliable and low-latency communication(URLLC) for industry scenarios. Moreover, the newly proposed time-sensitive networking(TSN) standards guarantee the transmission determinacy by gate mechanism. In this paper, we propose a heterogeneous time-sensitive network(HTSN) co-designed by 5 G and TSN. We first develop a predictive multi-priority wireless scheduling mechanism based on semi-persistent scheduling(SPS) to reduce signaling delay by reserving resources in *** we propose an adaptive data injection mechanism for TSN based on per-stream filtering and policing(PSFP), which dynamically adjusts the priority of data for queue injection in TSN. To further reduce the long tail of delay, we employ a risk-sensitive learning method to improve the worst-case delay. Simulations on a hot rolling production scenario demonstrate that the proposed mechanisms under HTSN achieve great performance in terms of integrated delay and resource utilization.

With the large-scale video-text datasets being collected, learning general visual-textual representation has gained increasing attention. While recent methods are designed with the assumption that the alt-text description naturally conveys the meaning and context of the video in semantics (i.e. well aligned with each other), it is unlikely to be satisfied for the Internet data, which potentially harms the quality of the learned visual-textual representation. To address this challenge, we first revisit three mainstream approaches: correspondence modeling, contrastive learning and predictive coding, demonstrating that a simple co-training strategy with these methods leads to a clear improvement in performance. To further explore the complementary nature of different training strategies, we propose a simple yet effective joint training framework that factorizes the total objective into conditional ones, termed as Cali-NCE 1. Our method first estimates confidence scores for measuring the correspondence between video and text descriptions, and the scores are later used to calibrate the sample weightings during contrastive training. Through extensive experiments, we show that the proposed approach achieves state-of-the-art performance on multiple downstream tasks: text-to-video retrieval, video action recognition, and video retrieval. © 2023 IEEE.
