Optimized AI and IoT-Driven Framework for Intelligent Water Resource Management

The scheme of water resources management is a necessity for reducing water scarcity in arid areas and improving water availability in general [1]. However, water leak detection and irrigation scheduling traditional AI models are often computationally intensive and require complex hyperparameter tuning, making them less scalable. This study presents an artificial intelligence-based optimization framework that improves forecasting accuracy, computational speed, and real-time adaptability. The architecture combines the ensemble-learning algorithms (XGBoost, LightGBM), hybrid AIs (XGBoost + Autoencoder), and metaheuristic feature selection (GA, PSO, SA) for making intelligent decisions. Moreover, ontology-based feature structuring enhances interpretability, while hyperparameter tuning (GridSearchCV, Bayesian Optimization) and model compression techniques (pruning, quantization, knowledge distillation) ensure computational efficiency. A large number of experiments on real-world IoT sensor data testify to the effectiveness of the framework. It achieves 0.992 AUC-ROC scores for leak detection, an RMSE of 0.227 hours for irrigation scheduling, and an overall accuracy of 94.8%. Additional performance measures comprise precision (89.0%), recall (95.2%), F1-score (0.92), and inference speed (0.003 ms/sample). Although quantization has reduced the computational overhead, we still see a 13.02% increase in the model size as seen in Experiment 6, leading to a trade-off that needs to be optimized further. This study offers a deployable AI-based model for sustainable water management by tackling the issues of scalability, computational cost, and limitations in benchmark evaluation. By virtue of the empirical validation and comparative analysis of the framework, it has been shown to perform better than the regular methods, proving that the methodology can act as a step forward in the field of real-time, AI-assisted irrigation and leak detection systems. © 2013 IEEE.

Data centers are being distributed worldwide by cloud service providers(CSPs)to save energy costs through efficient workload alloca-tion *** CSPs are challenged by the significant rise in user demands due to their extensive energy consumption during workload *** research studies have examined distinct operating cost mitigation techniques for geo-distributed data centers(DCs).However,oper-ating cost savings during workload processing,which also considers string-matching techniques in geo-distributed DCs,remains *** this research,we propose a novel string matching-based geographical load balanc-ing(SMGLB)technique to mitigate the operating cost of the geo-distributed *** primary goal of this study is to use a string-matching algorithm(i.e.,Boyer Moore)to compare the contents of incoming workloads to those of documents that have already been processed in a data center.A successful match prevents the global load balancer from sending the user’s request to a data center for processing and displaying the results of the previously processed workload to the user to save *** the contrary,if no match can be discovered,the global load balancer will allocate the incoming workload to a specific DC for processing considering variable energy prices,the number of active servers,on-site green energy,and traces of incoming *** results of numerical evaluations show that the SMGLB can minimize the operating expenses of the geo-distributed data centers more than the existing workload distribution techniques.

Classifying Multi-Lingual Reviews Sentiment Analysis in Arabic and English Languages Using the Stochastic Gradient Descent Model

Sentiment analysis plays an important role in distilling and clarifying content from movie reviews,aiding the audience in understanding universal views towards the ***,the abundance of reviews and the risk of encountering spoilers pose challenges for efcient sentiment analysis,particularly in Arabic *** study proposed a Stochastic Gradient Descent(SGD)machine learning(ML)model tailored for sentiment analysis in Arabic and English movie *** allows for fexible model complexity adjustments,which can adapt well to the Involvement of Arabic language *** adaptability ensures that the model can capture the nuances and specifc local patterns of Arabic text,leading to better *** distinct language datasets were utilized,and extensive pre-processing steps were employed to optimize the datasets for *** proposed SGD model,designed to accommodate the nuances of each language,aims to surpass existing models in terms of accuracy and *** SGD model achieves an accuracy of 84.89 on the Arabic dataset and 87.44 on the English dataset,making it the top-performing model in terms of accuracy on both *** indicates that the SGD model consistently demonstrates high accuracy levels across Arabic and English *** study helps deepen the understanding of sentiments across various linguistic *** many studies that focus solely on movie reviews,the Arabic dataset utilized here includes hotel reviews,ofering a broader perspective.

MBASE: Meta-heuristic Based optimized location allocation algorithm for baSE station in IoT assist wireless sensor networks

In an Internet of Things (IoT) assisted Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), the location of the Base Station (BS) remains important. BS serves as the central hub for data collection, aggregation and communication within the network. Its location significantly impacts the overall network performance and energy efficiency. However, the role and requirements of the BS may vary depending on the specific implementation and integration of IoT assist opportunistic routing protocol. Therefore, this work propose a Meta-heuristic Based optimized location Allocation algorithm for baSE station in IoT assist WSNs (MBASE). The MBASE algorithm is based on Forwarder Node (FN) selection and using meta-heuristic based opportunistic routing. The FN is selected by a decision-making approach based on meta-heuristic search strategies which offers viable options for local and global optimization problems. This work aims to find a way to achieve a trade-off in this algorithm for efficient and appropriate placement of BS either at the centre or outside of the network deployment zone. Both positions of BS are optimization problems in the design of WSNs/IoTs. MBASE algorithm is proposed for identifying the optimized location allocation for BS and is based on metaheuristic. Simulation based analysis of essential operational and functional parameters such as Message Success Rate (MSR), Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), Throughput, and Average energy consumption (AEC) is reported in the paper. Additionally, work compares BS locations using a common neighbourhood concept to assure fairness. DFU_XAI: A Deep Learning-Based Approach to Diabetic Foot Ulcer Detection Using Feature Explainability

Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a potentially fatal complication of diabetes. Traditional techniques of DFU analysis and therapy are more time-consuming and costly. Artificial intelligence (AI), particularly deep neural networks, has demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in medical applications. Despite this, the lack of explainability of deep learning models is currently viewed as a key hurdle to using these approaches in actual clinical settings. In this research, we present the DFU_XAI framework for assessing the interpretability of explainable-driven deep learning (DL) models. DFU_XAI evaluates five DL models (Xception, DenseNet121, ResNet50, InceptionV3, and MobileNetV2) to establish a transparent DL framework using three state-of-the-art explanation methods: Shapley additive explanation (SHAP), local interpretable model-agnostic explanations (LIME), and gradient-weighted class activation mapping (Grad-CAM). ResNet50 outperformed the other four models with remarkable results: 98.75% accuracy, 99.2% precision, 97.6% recall, 98.4% F1-score, and 98.5% AUC. For the most part, it can locate diabetic foot ulcers precisely on a diabetic foot and discriminate between diabetic foot ulcers and healthy feet in the DFU dataset. A heat map will indicate the precise location of the ulcer that needs care. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC 2024.

Markov Decision Process Based Artificial Intelligence with Card-Playing Strategy and Free-Playing Right Exploration for Four-Player Card Game Big2

The popular East Asian card game Big2 involves rules that do not allow players to view each other's hand cards, making artificial intelligence face challenges in performing well in this game. Based on Markov Decision Processes (MDPs) that can handle partially observable and stochastic information, we design the Big2MDP framework to explore card-playing strategies that minimize losing risks while maximizing scoring opportunities for the Big2 game. According to our review of relevant research, this is the first Big2 artificial intelligence framework with the following features: (1) the ability to simultaneously consider scoring and losing points to make the best winning decisions with minimal losing risk, (2) the capability to predict multiple opponents' actions to optimize the decision-making, and (3) the adaptability to compete for the free-playing right to change card combinations at the essential moment. We implement a system of four-player card game Big2 on the Android platform to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of Big2MDP. Experimental results show that Big2MDP outperforms existing artificial intelligence methods, achieving the highest win rate and the least number of losing points as competing against both computer and human players in Big2 games. Lung cancer is the most lethal form of cancer. This paper introduces a novel framework to discern and classify pulmonary disorders such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, and lung cancer by analyzing conventional X-ray and CT scan images called lung cancer risk prediction (LCRP) model. LCRP has four modules, namely data collection and preprocessing, data augmentation module, image segmentation module, and prediction module. Actually, LCRP employs three deep learning models;sequential model, functional model, and transfer model on publicly available training datasets. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have emerged as a highly effective field in machine learning, particularly for image datasets in the field of biomedical applications. The primary goal is to validate these models by comparing their performance with other models in order to determine their effectiveness in addressing challenging datasets. Our research has revealed a noteworthy enhancement in the efficiency of binary and multi-class classification using mask R-CNN image segmentation. During the model training process, a combination of Adam and stochastic gradient descent dual optimizers has been used to improve performance. LCRP have outperformed current pre-trained models by minimizing training parameters, computational costs, and overhead. It introduces 98.5% accuracy, 88.7% specificity, 89% sensitivity, 89.2% precision, and 89.09% F-measure. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.
