Optimizing Resource Allocation With High-Reliability Constraint for Multicasting Automotive Messages in 5G NR C-V2X Networks

Cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) has been continuously evolving since Release 14 of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for future autonomous vehicles. Apart from automotive safety, 5G NR further bring new capabilities to C-V2X for autonomous driving, such as real-time local update, and coordinated driving. These capabilities rely on the provision of low latency and high reliability from 5G NR. Among them, a basic demand is broadcasting or multicasting environment update messages, such as cooperative perception data, with high reliability and low latency from a Road Side Unit (RSU) or a base station (BS). In other words, broadcasting multiple types of automotive messages with high reliability and low latency is one of the key issues in 5G NR C-V2X. In this work, we consider how to select Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS), RSU/BS, Forward Error Correction (FEC) code rate, to maximize the system utility, which is a function of message delivery reliability. We formulate the optimization problem as a nonlinear integer programming problem. Since the optimization problem is NP-hard, we propose an approximation algorithm, referred to as the Hyperbolic Successive Convex Approximation (HSCA) algorithm, which uses the successive convex approximation to find the optimal solution. In our simulations, we compare the performance of HSCA with those of three algorithms respectively, including the baseline algorithm, the heuristic algorithm, and the optimal solution. Our simulation results show that HSCA outperforms the baseline and the heuristic algorithms and is very competitive to the optimal solution. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Remote sensing techniques, such as satellite imaging, have become vital for modern applications. The availability of acquiring high-resolution remote sensing images periodically has opened new possibilities for solving problems such as environmental analysis, climate change, and urban development. The study focuses on the performance evaluation of the EuroPlanet dataset which consists of 25,911 high-resolution multispectral satellite images and demonstrates the effectiveness of trained classifiers for land use and land cover classification. Furthermore, it was shown that the trained convolutional neural network can correctly classify the territory of Ukraine in multiple regions where manual observation is impossible due to difficult access. © 2023 IEEE.

This work presents the results of the examination of the HeLa cell line exposure on the ELF-EMF (extremely low-frequency electromagnetic field). In particular, the relationship between ELF-EMF exposition time and cell death. The examination of cell death hallmarks were examined by estimation levels of selected proteins - FACL4 (a protein that is a part of the ferroptosis pathway) and CK18 (Cytokeratin related to necrosis and apoptosis pathways) in the proposed model of workers exposed to ELF-EMF week. © 2024 IEEE.

This work presents the design, construction, and validation of a chamber for magnetic field attenuation. Needs of magnetic background controlling during experiments focused on behavior of biological samples exposed to various levels of the low frequency time-varying magnetic field set the motivation for this work. The solution is proposed with regard to the correct cultivation conditions of microbiological samples. The chosen methodology is established on the means of numerical modeling and simulations, as well as 3D printing techniques. The design process incorporates computer-aided design (CAD) software for the chamber proposal, subsequent printing via a 3D printer, followed by the construction of an attenuating chamber using mu-metal foil. The validation process involves measurements of magnetic flux density within the chamber, and comparison thereof with numerical simulations performed via CST Design Studio. All the solution steps resulted in a valid and effective magnetic field attenuation chamber, suitable for use in laboratory conditions.

Today, the functioning of the state is impossible without a developed information infrastructure. Such systems are already considered as critical infrastructure. The architecture of information systems is growing along with the number of services they provide. Designing flaws of such systems can critically affect the safety of their operation. As information and telecommunication systems become more complex, security is becoming an important issue, where a formal approach to the design of security features will help to avoid mistakes in integrating an information security management system. This paper proposes new requirements for the ISMS project for critical infrastructure, in particular a formal design approach. © 2021 IEEE.

The identification of drug-target interactions plays a crucial role in drug discovery and design. However, capturing interactions between drugs and targets via traditional biochemical experiments is an extremely laborious, expensive and time-consuming procedure. Therefore, the use of computational methods for predicting potential interactions to guide the experimental verification has attracted a lot of attention. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm, named Laplacian Regularized Schatten-p Norm Minimization (LRSpNM), to predict potential target proteins for novel drugs and potential drugs for new targets. First, we take advantage of the drug and target similarity information to dynamically prefill the partial unknown interactions. Then based on the assumption that the interaction matrix is low-rank, we use Schatten-p norm minimization model to improve prediction performance in the new drug/target cases by combining the loss function with a Laplacian regularization term. Finally, we numerically solve the LRSpNM model by an efficient alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) algorithm. Performance evaluations on benchmark datasets show that LRSpNM achieves better and more robust performance than five state-of-the-art drug-target interaction prediction algorithms. In addition, we conduct case study in practical applications, which also illustrates the effectiveness of our proposed method. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
