This paper introduces a groundbreaking real-time grammar error detection and correction system (named 'Error Ears') that adapts to linguistic interactions. At the core of the proposed approach lies the utilization of the potent 'T5' model, renowned for its capability to comprehend and produce human-like text. The proposed workflow meticulously covers essential stages including data pre-processing, model training, and fine-tuning. By fine-tuning the 'T5' model on a diverse dataset of sentences with numerous grammatical errors, the goal is to empower it to distinguish complex contextual nuances in speech. Preliminary results indicate that 'Error Ears' represents a substantial advancement over traditional correctional systems. This system excels at swiftly identifying and rectifying intricate spoken language errors, encompassing structural and contextual details. What sets it apart is its ability to provide real-time contextual suggestions, rendering it especially valuable during virtual meetings, presentations, and everyday conversations. 'Error Ears' is poised to redefine spoken language communication standards by enhancing clarity and precision. Its potential utility extends across a spectrum of contexts and linguistic environments, ensuring more efficient and accurate oral communication. Oral cancer is a growing universal health challenge, which is rising in the current situation. Early detection is vital for effective treatment and better patient results. However, current diagnostic methods, notably manual histopathological analysis, suffer from subjectivity and time limitations due to classifying the images according to their type. The dependence on manual analysis can lead to delays in accurately diagnosing oral cancer. The proposed method DenseNet121-CatBoost classifier addresses this challenge by using the Histopathological Images dataset. The DenseNet121 for the extracting process and the CatBoost classifier for classifying the images according to their classes. DenseNet121 is utilized to extract features and patterns from images and the CatBoost classifier in the classification process helps to classify the dataset according to its classes using the extracted information. The performance of the DenseNet121-CatBoost method is analyzed using accuracy, specificity, sensitivity, f1score, precision, and Area Under Curve (AUC). This paper shows that the proposed DenseNet121-CatBoost outperforms the existing methods such as ResNet50+CatBoost, DenseNet201+SVM (Support Vector Machine), and GoogLeNet+XGBoost in terms of accuracy of 97.62%, specificity of 98.96%, sensitivity of 94.55%, f1-score of 93.87%, precision of 98.65%, and AUC of 95.26%. © 2024 IEEE.

Time-varying linear state-space models are powerful tools for obtaining mathematically interpretable representations of neural signals. For example, switching and decomposed models describe complex systems using latent variables that evolve according to simple locally linear dynamics. However, existing methods for latent variable estimation are not robust to dynamical noise and system nonlinearity due to noise-sensitive inference procedures and limited model formulations. This can lead to inconsistent results on signals with similar dynamics, limiting the model's ability to provide scientific insight. In this work, we address these limitations and propose a probabilistic approach to latent variable estimation in decomposed models that improves robustness against dynamical noise. Additionally, we introduce an extended latent dynamics model to improve robustness against system nonlinearities. We evaluate our approach on several synthetic dynamical systems, including an empirically-derived brain-computer interface experiment, and demonstrate more accurate latent variable inference in nonlinear systems with diverse noise conditions. Furthermore, we apply our method to a real-world clinical neurophysiology dataset, illustrating the ability to identify interpretable and coherent structure where previous models cannot. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. The implementation of PID controllers in ASICs demands a strong grasp of system and hardware design. Despite the straightforward control structure and efficiency of industrial components regulated by PID controllers, they still incur significant power consumption. These control systems incorporate VLSI components like adders, multipliers, and accumulators to operate effectively. In this study, the integration of a fused MAC (Multiply-Accumulate) unit is employed for designing PID controllers, aiming to enhance efficiency across power consumption, path delay, and the utilization of LUTs. © 2024 IEEE.

Breast cancer is still a major global health issue, and early detection is important for better patient outcomes. This research discusses the use of machine learning algorithms for predicting breast cancer through the Orange data mining software. We utilized a comprehensive dataset containing various breast cancer features to develop and evaluate multiple machine learning models. The Orange tool facilitated data preprocessing, feature selection, model training, and performance evaluation. Our analysis compared the efficacy of several algorithms, in-cluding random forests, support vector machines, KNN, Gradient Boosting and neural networks. The study highlights the potential of orange tool for machine learning in enhancing breast cancer detection and diagnosis, potentially aiding healthcare profession-als in making more informed decisions. Furthermore, the user-friendly interface of the Orange tool showcases its utility in medical research and potential for wider adoption in clinical settings. For this paper, we consulted the Wisconsin dataset. The findings reveal that SVM models, particularly those utilizing ensemble methods like bagging and boosting with RBF kernels, significantly outperform traditional classifiers in both small and large datasets. In contrast, while Neural Networks demonstrated competitive accuracy, they often faced challenges related to overfitting and computational demands. Feature selection techniques were identified as crucial for enhancing model performance, allowing for more efficient training processes.

Hyperautomation acts as a real digital transformation with the support of several cutting-edge cognitive computation methods that include robotic process automation, natural language processing, artificial intelligence, and other emerging ones, which is conducive to processing complex industrial processes via extending the range of various data-driven cognitive decision-making algorithms. The study of air quality evaluations (AQE) plays a significant role in ensuring healthy atmospheric environments. In view of the objective existence of uncertainties, AQE can be modeled and addressed by a typical data-driven automated decision-making problem, and hyperautomation can provide a reasonable solution via associating with a variety of techniques. This article explores hyperautomation for AQE via evidential three-way large-scale group decision-making (LSGDM) in an intuitionistic fuzzy (IF) setting. First, the notion of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs) is incorporated into the paradigm of multi-granularity (MG) three-way decisions (TWD), and the model of adjustable MG IF probabilistic rough sets (PRSs) is developed. Second, an IF clustering analysis with the improved technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method is conducted to affirm representative members within a decision group. Third, a novel IF LSGDM method is built via adjustable MG IF PRSs and the evidence reasoning (ER) method. Finally, a case study in the setting of AQE is studied by using the presented evidential three-way LSGDM method. Corresponding experimental analyses are carried out for illustrating the efficiency of hyperautomation for AQE. In general, the proposed method improves the performance of information fusion by virtue of adjustable MG IF PRSs, and the TOPSIS method avoids the influence of subjective factors on decision results. AlpaPICO: Extraction of PICO Frames from Clinical Trial Documents Using LLMs

In recent years, there has been a surge in the publication of clinical trial reports, making it challenging to conduct systematic reviews. Automatically extracting Population, Intervention, Comparator, and Outcome (PICO) from clinical trial studies can alleviate the traditionally time-consuming process of manually scrutinizing systematic reviews. Existing approaches of PICO frame extraction involves supervised approach that relies on the existence of manually annotated data points in the form of BIO label tagging. Recent approaches, such as In-Context Learning (ICL), which has been shown to be effective for a number of downstream NLP tasks, require the use of labeled examples. In this work, we adopt ICL strategy by employing the pretrained knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), gathered during the pretraining phase of an LLM, to automatically extract the PICO-related terminologies from clinical trial documents in unsupervised set up to bypass the availability of large number of annotated data instances. Additionally, to showcase the highest effectiveness of LLM in oracle scenario where large number of annotated samples are available, we adopt the instruction tuning strategy by employing Low Rank Adaptation (LORA) to conduct the training of gigantic model in low resource environment for the PICO frame extraction task. More specifically, both of the proposed frameworks utilize AlpaCare as base LLM which employs both few-shot in-context learning and instruction tuning techniques to extract PICO-related terms from the clinical trial reports. We applied these approaches to the widely used coarse-grained datasets such as EBM-NLP, EBM-COMET and fine-grained datasets such as EBM-NLPrev and EBM-NLPh. Our empirical results show that our proposed ICL-based framework produces comparable results on all the version of EBM-NLP datasets and the proposed instruction tuned version of our framework produces state-of-the-art results on all the different EBM-NLP datasets. Water quality inspection (WQI) is one of the primary ways to ensure the safe utilization of water resources, and complicated data modeling, fusion and analysis play a significant role in seeking the resource with the best water quality. Nevertheless, the challenges of missing data, relatively large differences in decision results and bounded rationality owned by decision-makers (DMs) in terms of WQI still exist nowadays. Thus, from the aspect of stable and behavioral decision-making in multi-granularity incomplete intuitionistic fuzzy information systems (MG-IIFISs), the paper investigates a comprehensive multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) approach for the application of WQI. First, the concept of MG-IIFISs is built by modeling MAGDM problems with intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IFNs), then a new transformation scheme is constructed for transforming MG-IIFISs into multi-granularity intuitionistic fuzzy information systems (MG-IFISs) based on the similarity principle. Second, three types of multigranulation intuitionistic fuzzy probabilistic rough sets (MG IF PRSs) are developed by referring to the MULTIMOORA (Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis plus the full MULTIplicative form) method. Afterwards, attribute weights are objectively calculated based on the best-worst method (BWM), and a new stable and behavioral MAGDM approach is constructed by means of the TODIM (an acronym in Portuguese for interactive multi-criteria decision-making) method. At last, a case study in the setting of WQI is conducted with the support of a UCI data set, and sensitivity analysis, comparative analysis and experimental analysis are investigated to display the validity of the proposed approach. In general, the proposed approach improves the stability of decision results via MULTIMOORA and BWM, and also fully considers the bounded rationality of DMs' psychological behaviors from the aspect of the TODIM method, which has certain advantages in the community of MAGDM studie

Sensor fusion is a critical component of the IoT ecosystem, as it combines a variety of data streams from multiple sensors to enhance the accuracy, reliability, and real-time decision-making. This research concentrates on the development of robust sensor fusion algorithms that are capable of effectively managing the heterogeneity, noise, and uncertainty that are inherent in data from Internet of Things (IoT) sensors. Our primary focus is on the ability of these algorithmic methodologies to manage data from multi-modal sensors. We investigate algorithms that are based on deep learning, Bayesian inference, and Kalman filtering. The proposed solutions aim to improve the performance of systems in sectors that are influenced by the Internet of Things (IoT), including healthcare, smart cities, industrial automation, and autonomous cars. This investigation investigates the scalability, energy efficiency, and computational burden of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the context of limited resources. Through simulations and practical applications, we demonstrate the enhancement of data precision, defect tolerance, and overall system dependability by these robust sensor fusion techniques. © 2024 IEEE.
