Sharing the hardware platform between diverse information systems to establish full cooperation among different functionalities has attracted substantial ***,broadband multifunctional integrated systems with large operating frequency ranges are challenging due to the bandwidth and computing speed restrictions of electronic ***,we report an analog parallel processor(APP)based on the silicon photonic platform that directly discretizes and parallelizes the broadband signal in the analog *** APP first discretizes the signal with the optical frequency comb and then adopts optical dynamic phase interference to reassign the analog signal into 2N parallel *** photonic analog parallelism,data rate and data volume in each sequence are simultaneously compressed,which mitigates the requirement on each parallel computing ***,the fusion of the outputs from each computing core is equivalent to directly processing broadband *** the proof-of-concept experiment,two-channel analog parallel processing of broadband radar signals and high-speed communication signals is implemented on the single photonic integrated *** bandwidth of broadband radar signal is 6 GHz and the range resolution of 2.69 cm is *** wireless communication rate of 8 Gbit/s is also *** the bandwidth and speed limitations of the single-computing core along with further exploring the multichannel potential of this architecture,we anticipate that the proposed APP will accelerate the development of powerful optoelectronic processors as critical support for applications such as satellite networks and intelligent driving.

Although Twitter is a popular platform for social interaction analysis and text data mining, it faces challenges with geolocation automation. To address this problem, the researchers propose the utilization of a Support Vector Machine (SVM) model to develop an automated Twitter crawling system. The system aims to collect data related to weather in Indonesia by employing Twin, a Python-based Twitter scraping software. To overcome null geolocations, the study incorporates aliases created based on the common practice of Indonesian users mentioning the country's location in tweets. The results demonstrate that the SVM model, combined with automated smart crawling, achieves an 85% accuracy rate. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

In the digital era, digital talent development has become increasingly vital for organizations and economies to thrive. While much focus has been placed on technical skills, this report emphasizes the often-overlooked role of soft skills in developing digital talent. Through an extensive literature review and data analysis, the study identifies that soft skills are crucial in enhancing digital talent performance. This research explores the factors that influence Digital Talent Performance in Indonesia, specifically comparing the performance levels of male and female digital talents. Data were collected from college students in the Jabodetabek area (cities surrounding Jakarta, Indonesia) using a purposive sampling method, with an online questionnaire distributed to 378 respondents. The study utilized Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze the collected data using SmartPLS 4.1. software. Key variables examined include Communication Skills, Teamwork, Emotional Intelligence, Academic Achievement, Problem-Solving, Digital Readiness, Digital Skills, Digital Technology, and Digital Talent Performance. Out of the nine hypotheses tested, one was not statistically significant. The results suggest that a combination of both technical and soft skills significantly affects digital talent performance, with important gender-based differences in performance levels emerging from the analysis. This research contributes to understanding Indonesia's complex dynamics of digital talent development.

Melanoma is a malignant form of cancer that affects the skin and has a particularly high mortality rate, so it requires early detection to increase the level of safety for users. Diagnosis and detection of skin cancer are usually done through manual screening and visual inspection. This process requires a long time, has high complexity, is subjective, and is prone to errors. CNN is one of the algorithms with advantages in accurate classification. In this research, early detection and classification of melanoma cancer were carried out based on two classes, namely benign and malignant using the Convolutional Neural Network method. Our proposed method yields an accuracy of 81.11% for the validation data. The accuracy results obtained can be improved by using more datasets and increasing the number of layers used. This study uses the CNN method using MobileNet V2 architecture to detect melanoma skin cancer. The class used is benign and malignant. © 2023 IEEE.

In real world applications of multiclass classification models, misclassification in an important class (e.g., stop sign) can be significantly more harmful than in other classes (e.g., no parking). Thus, it is crucial to improve the recall of an important class while maintaining overall accuracy. For this problem, we found that improving the separation of important classes relative to other classes in the feature space is effective. Existing methods that give a class-sensitive penalty for cross-entropy loss do not improve the separation. Moreover, the methods designed to improve separations between all classes are unsuitable for our purpose because they do not consider the important classes. To achieve the separation, we propose a loss function that explicitly gives loss for the feature space, called class-sensitive additive angular margin (CAMRI) loss. CAMRI loss is expected to reduce the variance of an important class due to the addition of a penalty to the angle between the important class features and the corresponding weight vectors in the feature space. In addition, concentrating the penalty on only the important class hardly sacrifices separating the other classes. Experiments on CIFAR-10, GTSRB, and AwA2 showed that CAMRI loss could improve the recall of a specific class without sacrificing accuracy. In particular, compared with GTSRB's second-worst class recall when trained with cross-entropy loss, CAMRI loss improved recall by 9%. © 2023 The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers.

The rapid advancement in mobile broadband technology has evolved wireless infrastructure influencing internet-of-things (IoTs). This evolution has made mobile IoTs (mIoTs) as centre of attention due to its potential of providing seamless connectivity to enable intelligent transportation systems with huge data demands of vehicular users. To address the ever-escalating data demands of vehicular mobile users, vehicular edge computing (VEC) and moving small cells (mSCs) play a pivotal role. mSCs together with VEC are capable to provide improved service quality for mIoTs. However, incorporating the mSCs in vehicles for mIoTs presents challenges while assigning the resources in mIoT-mSC network. This is due to the existence of time varying interference among mSCs. This work explores the distributed resource assignment mechanism for RSU assisted mIoT-mSC network formed in vehicular environment. In the proposed work, location prediction of city buses deployed with mSCs is done using federated learning (FL) which is subsequently utilized for efficient assignment of resources in mIoT-mSC network. Numerical results are provided to validate the proposed resource assignment mechanism. © 2024 IEEE.

Beyond Distribution Shift: Spurious Features Through the Lens of Training Dynamics

Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) are prone to learning spurious features that correlate with the label during training but are irrelevant to the learning problem. This hurts model generalization and poses problems when deploying them in safety-critical applications. This paper aims to better understand the effects of spurious features through the lens of the learning dynamics of the internal neurons during the training process. We make the following observations: (1) While previous works highlight the harmful effects of spurious features on the generalization ability of DNNs, we emphasize that not all spurious features are harmful. Spurious features can be "benign" or "harmful" depending on whether they are "harder" or "easier" to learn than the core features for a given model. This definition is model and dataset dependent. (2) We build upon this premise and use instance difficulty methods (like Prediction Depth (Baldock et al., 2021)) to quantify "easiness" for a given model and to identify this behavior during the training phase. (3) We empirically show that the harmful spurious features can be detected by observing the learning dynamics of the DNN’s early layers. In other words, easy features learned by the initial layers of a DNN early during the training can (potentially) hurt model generalization. We verify our claims on medical and vision datasets, both simulated and real, and justify the empirical success of our hypothesis by showing the theoretical connections between Prediction Depth and information-theoretic concepts like V-usable information (Ethayarajh et al., 2021). Lastly, our experiments show that monitoring only accuracy during training (as is common in machine learning pipelines) is insufficient to detect spurious features. We, therefore, highlight the need for monitoring early training dynamics using suitable instance difficulty metrics. © 2023, CC BY.

The complex and large-scale scientific workflow applications are effectively executes on the cloud. The performance of cloud computing highly depends on the task scheduling. Optimal workflow scheduling is still a challenge that needs to be addressed due to the conflicting objectives and increasing demand for quality of service. Task scheduling is an NP-hard problem due to its complexity. The newly introduced methods for resolving the problem of task scheduling are facing challenges to take the benefits of all aspects of cloud computing. In this article, we study the joint optimization of cost and makespan of scheduling workflows in infrastructure as a service clouds and propose a new workflow scheduling scheme using deep learning. In this scheme, a deep-Q learning-based heterogeneous earliest-finish-time (DQ-HEFT) algorithm is developed, which closely integrates the deep learning mechanism with the task scheduling heuristic HEFT. The workflowsim simulator is used for the experiment of the real-world and synthetic workflows. The experiment results demonstrate the efficiency of our proposed approach compared with existing algorithms. This technique can achieve significantly better makespan and speed metrics with a remarkably higher volume of data and can run faster compared with the existing workflow scheduling algorithms in cloud computing environment. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

The process of digital transformation is part of the 4.0 industrial revolution. Through digital transformation, it is hoped that all processes inside an organization will function more efficiently. Internet technology is the major driver of an organization's digital transformation effort. Information systems for the statewide scope of the two main religion-based organizations in Indonesia are required to satisfy the Indonesian government's National Medium-Term Development Plan for the years 2020-2024 in accordance with Indonesian President Decree No. 18 of 2020. The regulation mandates that the ministry of religious affairs provide information and data services. E-Govchurch, an abbreviation for Electronic-Governmental Church, is the suggested framework. E-Govchurch is a digital program for Information systems that incorporates a framework for data governance. E-Govchurch will develop utilizing SSM, RBV, the Zachman Framework, and the DAMA framework. With the exponential growth of data, the demand for effective data analysis tools has increased significantly. R language, known for its statistical modeling and data analysis capabilities, has become one of the most popular programming languages among data scientists and researchers. As the importance of energy-aware software systems continues to rise, several studies investigate the impact of source code and different stages of machine learning model training on energy consumption. However, existing studies in this domain primarily focus on programming languages like Python and Java, resulting in a lack of energy measuring tools for other programming languages such as R. To address this gap, we propose "RJoules", a tool designed to measure the energy consumption of R code snippets. We evaluate the correctness and performance of RJoules by applying it to four machine learning algorithms on three different systems. Our aim is to support developers and practitioners in building energy-aware systems in R.
