The rapid advancements in deep learning have given rise to sophisticated DeepFake technologies, posing significant threats to visual integrity and authenticity in digital media. This paper presents an innovative approach to DeepFake detection and mitigation by integrating blockchain technology with artificial intelligence frameworks. The proposed Blockchain-Augmented AI (BAAI) framework utilizes the immutability and decentralized nature of block chain to enhance the security and reliability of the detection process. Our method involves the development of advanced AI models for detecting DeepFakes, which are then integrated with a blockchain-based ledger to ensure the verifiability and traceability of detection results. In this proposed work, a novel integration of blockchain technology and AI designed to enhance DeepFake detection capabilities. The framework achieves a 97% accuracy rate, ensuring reliable identification of manipulated media, while maintaining a low false positive rate of 3%. These results highlight the BAAI framework's effectiveness in minimizing erroneous detections and its robustness in safeguarding digital visual content. In the face of increasingly sophisticated DeepFake technologies, this framework offers a crucial advancement in combating digital deception. © 2024 IEEE.

Enhancing reliability in coronary artery disease prediction using ensemble learning for key attribute identification

Cardiovascular disease (CAD) is a significant public health concern, affecting a large population worldwide. Early diagnosis and management of CAD can minimize the risk of acute myocardial infarction and improve patient outcomes. Assessment tools like SBP, cholesterol, pulse rate, and ST segment depression can help identify causes early and manage them effectively. Management includes medication therapy, healthy dietary habits, and exercise. Several machine learning (ML) methodologies have been researched to enhance CAD predictions, including AdaBoost, ANNs, J48, Decision Tree, K Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Naïve Bayes, and Random Forest. However, single models still lack sufficient capacity to address the complexity and flexibility of CAD. Ensemble learning, which uses multiple classifiers to boost predictability, has been employed to address these issues. The system was developed after benchmarking it with multiple classifiers on a Cleveland cardiac disease dataset. The ensemble method showed a 92.11% accuracy rate, far better than the highest performing classifier operating individually. This suggests the possibility of practical solutions for CAD prediction using ensemble methods, enabling precise early diagnosis and efficient targeted treatment. Comparing ensemble learning for CAD predictors reveals how these approaches can revolutionize medicine by enabling early diagnosis and personalized treatment plans. There is a need to further develop these methods for clinical application, such as creating practical tools for easier application by healthcare workers and integrating sophisticated techniques. In conclusion, ensemble learning methods represent significant advancements in CAD prediction, with superior performance in identifying critical attributes and enhancing predictive accuracy. As healthcare evolves with the integration of intelligent technologies, the adoption of ensemble learning methods holds great promise for enhancing patient outcomes and reducing the

The medical context for a drug indication provides crucial information on how the drug can be used in practice. However, the extraction of medical context from drug indications remains poorly explored, as most research concentrates on the recognition of medications and associated diseases. Indeed, most databases cataloging drug indications do not contain their medical context in a machine-readable format. This paper proposes the use of a large language model for constructing DIAMOND-KG, a knowledge graph of drug indications and their medical context. The study 1) examines the change in accuracy and precision in providing additional instruction to the language model, 2) estimates the prevalence of medical context in drug indications, and 3) assesses the quality of DIAMOND-KG against NeuroDKG, a small manually curated knowledge graph. The results reveal that more elaborated prompts improve the quality of extraction of medical context;71% of indications had at least one medical context;63.52% of extracted medical contexts correspond to those identified in NeuroDKG. This paper demonstrates the utility of using large language models for specialized knowledge extraction, with a particular focus on extracting drug indications and their medical context. We provide DIAMOND-KG as a FAIR RDF graph supported with an ontology. Openly accessible, DIAMOND-KG may be useful for downstream tasks such as semantic query answering, recommendation engines, and drug repositioning research. © 2024 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

To reflect the nonlinear characteristics of the building structural adjustment system, an active vibration control strategy based on the nonlinear is proposed. In this method, the size of the structural control force is determined by comparing the allowable energy with the actual energy, and its direction is determined by taking the derivative of the energy. Because there is no need to solve the linear matrix inequality, the calculation is simple and the operation is convenient. Moreover, when multiple actuators with the same capacity limit are used, the control output force is consistent, thus avoiding the design of multiple control systems and simplifying the controller design. The simulation results show that the maximum controlled displacements of floor 6 to floor 8 are 1.16cm, 1.12cm, and 0.97cm, respectively. The proposed nonlinear energy control method has the advantages of simple control process and avoiding actuator saturation. © 2023 CAD Solutions, LLC.

With the gradual development in industrialization, the advent of computer and information technology has evolved in the field of engineering and construction industry. BIM technology has become a valuable part of prefabricated concrete engineering with the advancement of modern technology based on 3D modeling simulation. In order to realize the industrialization and automation of prefabricated concrete structures, this paper analyzes the characteristics of fabricated concrete structure and BIM, combining the two techniques. This work applies BIM to fabricated concrete design and chooses finite element analysis and calculation software ETABS to analyze the structure model. The results show that the mass participation ratio of the model studied in this paper reaches more than 90%, the interlayer displacement angle is less than 1/550, and the modal and shell internal force analysis results meet the requirements. In this paper, modal analysis, shell internal force analysis under live load and structural dynamic analysis under response spectrum load conditions were carried out on the ETABS model converted from the Revit model and the model directly established by ETABS. The ETABS model converted from the Revit model by the data interface plug-in can be used for structural analysis. © 2023, CAD Solutions, LLC. All rights reserved.

Biometric-based methods have emerged as a highly promising avenue for individual recognition, with face recognition standing out as a key application in image analysis. Facial recognition systems are affected by various image condition factors, including expressions, occlusion, poses, and illuminations. It is crucial to consider reasonable variations in illumination between gallery and probe images when developing face recognition algorithms. In the context of face verification, illumination variation significantly influences the likelihood of misclassification. Existing research lacks a focus on imaging conditions, especially regarding illumination, in face recognition systems. This research aims to identify and design a scheme to address illumination variation in facial recognition. The proposed scheme will undergo analysis and evaluation to assess its accuracy and effectiveness. The image processing in this research is divided into two phases. The first is the preprocessing phase, encompassing auto contrast balancing and noise reduction. The second phase is face processing, which involves illumination normalization, face detection, feature extraction, and face recognition. Two datasets are utilized: The first being the ORL dataset, which includes images with illumination variations, and the second being the Yale database, where images contain various noises. © 2024 IEEE.

In the study of wind turbines, one of the most relevant and useful indicators is the power curve. It has been shown to be of paramount importance in evaluating turbine performance and therefore reducing operation and maintenance (O&M) costs. Various techniques can be applied to model and obtain the shape of this curve, which relates the electrical power generated by a turbine to the wind speed. Statistical copulas are used in this paper, a tool used in other fields such as econometrics, and whose potential lies in its ability to capture the complex dependency between the variables involved. In particular, the Frank copula is applied to obtain a probabilistic model of the power curve of a wind turbine. This model is compared with the Gaussian Mixture Model, a technique widely used to obtain parametric probabilistic models. As a result of this comparison, it is observed that the Frank copula model fits the power curve of the wind turbine with greater precision and reliability, which would allow its use for prediction and fault detection. © 2023, European Association for the Development of Renewable Energy, Environment and Power Quality (EA4EPQ). Black-box AI models tend to be more accurate but less transparent and scrutable than white-box models. This poses a limitation for recommender systems that rely on black-box models, such as Matrix Factorization (MF). Explainable Matrix Factorization (EMF) models are "explainable" extensions of Matrix Factorization, a state of the art technique widely used due to its flexibility in learning from sparse data and accuracy. EMF can incorporate explanations derived, by design, from user or item neighborhood graphs, among others, into the model training process, thereby making their recommendations explainable. So far, an EMF model can learn a model that produces only one explanation style, and this in turn limits the number of recommendations with computable explanation scores. In this paper, we propose a framework for EMFs with multiple styles of explanation, based on ratings and tags, by incorporating EMF algorithms that use scores derived from tag-centric graphs to connect rating neighborhood-based EMF techniques to tag-based explanations. We used precalculated explainability scores that have been previously validated in user studies that evaluated user satisfaction with each style individually. Our evaluation experiments show that our proposed methods provide accurate recommendations while providing multiple explanation styles, without sacrificing the accuracy of the recommendations.
