Facial beauty analysis is an important topic in human *** may be used as a guidance for face beautification applications such as cosmetic *** neural networks(DNNs)have recently been adopted for facial beauty analysis and have achieved remarkable ***,most existing DNN-based models regard facial beauty analysis as a normal classification *** ignore important prior knowledge in traditional machine learning models which illustrate the significant contribution of the geometric features in facial beauty *** be specific,landmarks of the whole face and facial organs are introduced to extract geometric features to make the *** by this,we introduce a novel dual-branch network for facial beauty analysis:one branch takes the Swin Transformer as the backbone to model the full face and global patterns,and another branch focuses on the masked facial organs with the residual network to model the local patterns of certain facial ***,the designed multi-scale feature fusion module can further facilitate our network to learn complementary semantic information between the two *** model optimisation,we propose a hybrid loss function,where especially geometric regulation is introduced by regressing the facial landmarks and it can force the extracted features to convey facial geometric *** performed on the SCUT-FBP5500 dataset and the SCUT-FBP dataset demonstrate that our model outperforms the state-of-the-art convolutional neural networks models,which proves the effectiveness of the proposed geometric regularisation and dual-branch structure with the hybrid *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first study to introduce a Vision Transformer into the facial beauty analysis task.

The basis of this project is to investigate whether the YOLO, an object detection algorithm where 'You Only Look Once' constitutes the name, could be applied to develop FMCG management;together with the management of FMCG, it becomes the gateway to increasing retail precision, efficiency, and agility. Under real-time processing, the system detects and counts FMCG products on retail shelves with an accuracy rate of 92.5%. This accuracy ensures that the optimum stock levels are maintained and there will be no discrepancies. The system processes video feeds at 0.08 seconds per frame, thus allowing inventory data to be updated in real-time to enable quick, data-driven decisions. YOLO's flexibility ensures consistent performance across different store layouts and product types. This system integrates with other retail management tools and allows integrating inventory data in the real time. This means that it would be made available with invaluable insights which would prevent stock depletion while helping to curtail costs. This project takes YOLO ahead of just being a game changer in the FMCG inventory management while operating to reduce expenses and customer satisfaction due to product availability. © 2024 IEEE.

The goal of this project is to draw a deeper understanding of the subjective nature behind online product reviews, largely by examining a large dataset received from Amazon that contains numerous star ratings and comments. Since there is such a massive amount of data on the Amazon platform, it was perfect for the analysis. Our methodology is platform-agnostic and can be easily extended to other comparable datasets from other web platforms with comparable guarantees in achieving wide applicability. Our primary motivation is improving the dependability of online shopping. Since product reviews are currently widely used by many consumers as guides in making decisions to buy products, such reviews ought to be fair representations of the actual dependability and quality of the products. The goal of our effort is to identify patterns in the language and ratings of such reviews that would directly reflect the real customer sentiment and also the reliability of the product. Our approach has yielded already a rate of about 92%, which shows it has the potential greatly to raise the legitimacy of online reviews. We'd like to make our customers feel more confident and better equipped with information to make better and safer purchases on a website like Amazon and others. In the final analysis, we strive to make online shopping for our customers worldwide safer and more trustworthy. © 2024 IEEE.

Leveraging D-NN trained on neuroimaging data, we can effectively estimate the chronological ages of normal persons;this projected brain age has potential as a biomarker for identifying age-related disorders. The suggested technique employs a CNN cascade network from DL and the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm from ML (SVM). These techniques have been employed to train MRI scans of the brain, classifying them into regular (unaffected by illness), Alzheimer’s disorder (AD), and neurocognitive disability. That we also have the ability to determine ages thanks to the age classifications on the photos. Innovative technology solutions have been developed in response to the growing need for effective and customized client contact on e-commerce platforms. This work introduces an intelligent chatbot system that uses machine learning and text mining techniques to improve user satisfaction and answer customer concerns. Advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) models have been trained on large datasets, allowing for precise user intent interpretation and pertinent product recommendations. A strong recommendation engine is included into the system architecture to aid in decision-making, ultimately enhancing the customer experience by providing individualized, real-time help. The study also highlights the significance of data privacy by using privacy-preserving techniques to safeguard user data. The system's scalability and performance benefits are highlighted through thorough comparisons with current models. In recent decades,fog computing has played a vital role in executing parallel computational tasks,specifically,scientific workflow *** cloud data centers,fog computing takes more time to run workflow ***,it is essential to develop effective models for Virtual Machine(VM)allocation and task scheduling in fog computing *** task scheduling,VM migration,and allocation,altogether optimize the use of computational resources across different fog *** process ensures that the tasks are executed with minimal energy consumption,which reduces the chances of resource *** this manuscript,the proposed framework comprises two phases:(i)effective task scheduling using a fractional selectivity approach and(ii)VM allocation by proposing an algorithm by the name of Fitness Sharing Chaotic Particle Swarm Optimization(FSCPSO).The proposed FSCPSO algorithm integrates the concepts of chaos theory and fitness sharing that effectively balance both global exploration and local *** balance enables the use of a wide range of solutions that leads to minimal total cost and makespan,in comparison to other traditional optimization *** FSCPSO algorithm’s performance is analyzed using six evaluation measures namely,Load Balancing Level(LBL),Average Resource Utilization(ARU),total cost,makespan,energy consumption,and response *** relation to the conventional optimization algorithms,the FSCPSO algorithm achieves a higher LBL of 39.12%,ARU of 58.15%,a minimal total cost of 1175,and a makespan of 85.87 ms,particularly when evaluated for 50 tasks.

Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is widely recognized as the primary cause of visual impairment worldwide. Early intervention is crucial in preventing irreversible vision loss. Ophthalmologists conventionally utilize fundus cameras to capture retinal images and detect indications of diabetic retinopathy, thereby facilitating prompt diagnosis. The progress made in computational intelligence has significantly enhanced our ability to identify, predict, and categorize DR. The focus of this research is to present a proficient framework for the DR grading. The framework proposed employs Laplacian filters to reduce undesirable image distortions and enhance the overall quality of the images. The methodology involves the utilization of transfer learning through the pre-existing VGG19 Convolutional Neural Network architecture to pull out features from diverse pooling layers. The amalgamation of extracted features from multiple layers results in the formation of feature vectors. These vectors are utilized as inputs for training various machine learning algorithms, with the objective of identifying the most effective model for evaluating the severity of DR. Significantly, the research provides a rationale for its forecasts, guaranteeing the transparency of the algorithm and comprehensibility of the model, thereby validating its reliability. The model's exceptional precision renders it a promising candidate for broad implementation in clinical identification and prediction of DR, potentially augmenting global patient outcomes. © 2024 IEEE.

Recent works often assume that Vision-Language Model (VLM) representations are based on visual attributes like shape. However, it is unclear to what extent VLMs prioritize this information to represent concepts. We propose Extract and Explore (EX2), a novel approach to characterize textual features that are important for VLMs. EX2 uses reinforcement learning to align a large language model with VLM preferences and generates descriptions that incorporate features that are important for the VLM. Then, we inspect the descriptions to identify features that contribute to VLM representations. Using EX2, we find that spurious descriptions have a major role in VLM representations despite providing no helpful information, e.g., Click to enlarge photo of CONCEPT. More importantly, among informative descriptions, VLMs rely significantly on non-visual attributes like habitat (e.g., North America) to represent visual concepts. Also, our analysis reveals that different VLMs prioritize different attributes in their representations. Overall, we show that VLMs do not simply match images to scene descriptions and that non-visual or even spurious descriptions significantly influence their representations. Cybersecurity plays an important role in protecting people and critical infrastructure. Sectors such as energy, defense and healthcare are increasingly at risk from cyber threats. To address these challenges, dedicated Security Operations Centers (SOCs) continuously monitor threats and respond to critical issues. Our research focuses on the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) to optimize the tasks of SOCs and to support security professionals. In this work, we propose a framework, which we call CyberGuardian, whose main goal is to provide a chatbot application along with a set of tools to support SOC analysts in real-time cybersecurity tasks. We use state-of-the-art LLM techniques and start from a Llama 2 model, then fine-tune the base model using a new dataset containing mainly cybersecurity topics. The CyberGuardian framework has a plugin architecture that integrates processes such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), safeguard methods for interaction between human user and chatbot, integration with tools to manage tasks such as database interactions, code generation and execution, and plotting graphs just by specifying the task in a natural language. The work, along with the dataset we collected and reusable code to update or customize, is made available to the cybersecurity community as open source. © 2024 by SCITEPRESS – science and Technology Publications, Lda.

The advent of Big data has led to the rapid growth in the usage of parallel clustering algorithms that work over distributed computing frameworks such as MPI,MapReduce,and *** important step for any parallel clustering algorithm is the distribution of data amongst the cluster *** step governs the methodology and performance of the entire *** typically use random,or a spatial/geometric distribution strategy like kd-tree based partitioning and grid-based partitioning,as per the requirements of the ***,these strategies are generic and are not tailor-made for any specific parallel clustering *** this paper,we give a very comprehensive literature survey of MPI-based parallel clustering algorithms with special reference to the specific data distribution strategies they *** also propose three new data distribution strategies namely Parameterized Dimensional Split for parallel density-based clustering algorithms like DBSCAN and OPTICS,Cell-Based Dimensional Split for dGridSLINK,which is a grid-based hierarchical clustering algorithm that exhibits efficiency for disjoint spatial distribution,and Projection-Based Split,which is a generic distribution *** of these preserve spatial locality,achieve disjoint partitioning,and ensure good data load *** experimental analysis shows the benefits of using the proposed data distribution strategies for algorithms they are designed for,based on which we give appropriate recommendations for their usage.
