Sensor network localization (SNL) is a challenging problem due to its inherent non-convexity and the effects of noise in inter-node ranging measurements and anchor node position. We formulate a non-convex SNL problem as a multiplayer non-convex potential game and investigate the existence and uniqueness of a Nash equilibrium (NE) in both the ideal setting without measurement noise and the practical setting with measurement noise. We first show that the NE exists and is unique in the noiseless case, and corresponds to the precise network localization. Then, we study the SNL for the case with errors affecting the anchor node position and the inter-node distance measurements. Specifically, we establish that in case these errors are sufficiently small, the NE exists and is unique. It is shown that the NE is an approximate solution to the SNL problem, and that the position errors can be quantified accordingly. Based on these findings, we apply the results to case studies involving only inter-node distance measurement errors and only anchor position information inaccuracies. © 2024 IEEE.

The Petri-net-based information flow analysis offers an effective approach for detecting information leakage by the concept of non-interference. Although the related studies propose efficient solutions, they lack quantitative evaluation on information leakage. In this paper, we propose a novel method for quantitative evaluation of information security based on stochastic labeled Petri nets (SLPNs) and information flow analysis. Specifically, we introduce four different levels of security metrics, and provide a methodology for evaluating the information security. Furthermore, a case study is presented to show the feasibility of our method.

Context-Aware Aerial Object Detection: Leveraging Inter-Object and Background Relationships

In most modern object detection pipelines, the detection proposals are processed independently given the feature map. Therefore, they overlook the underlying relationships between objects and the surrounding background, which could have provided additional context for accurate detection. Because aerial imagery is almost orthographic, the spatial relations in image space closely align with those in the physical world, and inter-object and object-background relationships become particularly significant. To address this oversight, we propose a framework that leverages the strengths of Transformer-based models and Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training (CLIP) features to capture such relationships. Specifically, Building on two-stage detectors, we treat Region of Interest (RoI) proposals as tokens, accompanied by CLIP Tokens obtained from multi-level image segments. These tokens are then passed through a Transformer encoder, where specific spatial and geometric relations are incorporated into the attention weights, which are adaptively modulated and regularized. Additionally, we introduce self-supervised constraints on CLIP Tokens to ensure consistency. Extensive experiments on three benchmark datasets demonstrate that our approach achieves consistent improvements, setting new state-of-the-art results with increases of 1.37 mAP50 on DOTA-v1.0, 5.30 mAP50 on DOTA-v1.5, 2.30 mAP50 on DOTA-v2.0 and 3.23 mAP50 on DIOR-R. © 2024, CC BY.

Hyperbolic Neural Network Based Preselection for Expensive Multi-Objective Optimization

A series of surrogate-assisted evolutionary algorithms (SAEAs) have been proposed for expensive multi-objective optimization problems (EMOPs), building cheap surrogate models to replace the expensive real function evaluations. However, the search efficiency of these SAEAs is not yet satisfactory. More efforts are needed to further exploit useful information from the real function evaluations in order to better guide the search process. Facing this challenge, this paper proposes a Hyperbolic Neural Network (HNN) based preselection operator to accelerate the optimization process based on limited evaluated solutions. First, the preselection task is modeled as a multi-label classification problem where solutions are classified into different layers (ordinal categories) through -relaxed objective aggregation. Second, in order to resemble the hierarchical structure of candidate solutions, a hyperbolic neural network is applied to tackle the multi-label classification problem. The reason for using HNN is that hyperbolic spaces more closely resemble hierarchical structures than Euclidean spaces. Moreover, to alleviate the data deficiency issue, a data augmentation strategy is employed for training the HNN. In order to evaluate its performance, the proposed HNN-based preselection operator is embedded into two surrogate-assisted evolutionary algorithms. Experimental results on two benchmark test suites and three real-world problems with up to 11 objectives and 150 decision variables involving seven state-of-the-art algorithms demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. This paper presents a hybrid ensemble classifier combined synthetic minority oversampling technique(SMOTE),random search(RS)hyper-parameters optimization algorithm and gradient boosting tree(GBT)to achieve efficient and accurate rock trace identification.A thirteen-dimensional database consisting of basic,vector,and discontinuity features is established from image *** data points are classified as either‘‘trace”or‘‘non-trace”to divide the ultimate results into candidate trace *** is found that the SMOTE technology can effectively improve classification performance by recommending an optimized imbalance ratio of 1:5 to 1:***,sixteen classifiers generated from four basic machine learning(ML)models are applied for performance *** results reveal that the proposed RS-SMOTE-GBT classifier outperforms the other fifteen hybrid ML algorithms for both trace and nontrace ***,discussions on feature importance,generalization ability and classification error are conducted for the proposed *** experimental results indicate that more critical features affecting the trace classification are primarily from the discontinuity ***,cleaning up the sedimentary pumice and reducing the area of fractured rock contribute to improving the overall classification *** proposed method provides a new alternative approach for the identification of 3D rock trace.

Efficient Resource Allocation in computing Power Networks Considering Similar Task Merging: A Lyapunov Optimization-Based DRL Approach

The cloud-edge-terminal architecture relies on hierarchy for resource allocation but lacks global optimization. The computing power network (CPN) introduces a new distributed computing paradigm, integrating cross-domain, heterogeneous resources for global scheduling. However, most CPN research focuses on task optimization during resource allocation, while neglecting the similarity of random tasks before the allocation stage. Additionally, fragmented CPN resources and complex task demands pose challenges to global load balancing. This paper proposes a deep reinforcement learning framework with task merging and congestion avoidance for on-demand resource allocation. Specifically, a low-complexity similar task merging algorithm reduces redundant resource consumption during task preprocessing. In task offloading, the principal neighborhood aggregated graph neural network captures CPN's intricate features. Lyapunov optimization, integrated into a multi-threaded training framework, minimizes resource backlog congestion. A carefully designed reward function balances multiple objectives, enhancing computing resource utilization efficiency and ensuring system stability. Theoretical analysis shows that with control parameter V, the trade-off between resource utilization efficiency and system stability follows the relationship O(1/V), O(V). Extensive experiments demonstrate a 33.5% improvement in resource utilization efficiency and a 62.7% increase in task offloading success rates with respect to those in state-of-the-art algorithms. The proposed algorithm exhibits robustness and effectiveness, particularly in high-load and real network topologies. © 2014 IEEE.

The estimation of image resampling factors is an important problem in image *** all the resampling factor estimation methods,spectrumbased methods are one of the most widely used methods and have attracted a lot of research ***,because of inherent ambiguity,spectrum-based methods fail to discriminate upscale and downscale operations without any prior *** general,the application of resampling leaves detectable traces in both spatial domain and frequency domain of a resampled ***,the resampling process will introduce correlations between neighboring *** this case,a set of periodic pixels that are correlated to their neighbors can be found in a resampled ***,the resampled image has distinct and strong peaks on spectrum while the spectrum of original image has no clear ***,in this paper,we propose a dual-stream convolutional neural network for image resampling factors *** of the two streams is gray stream whose purpose is to extract resampling traces features directly from the rescaled *** other is frequency stream that discovers the differences of spectrum between rescaled and original *** features from two streams are then fused to construct a feature representation including the resampling traces left in spatial and frequency domain,which is later fed into softmax layer for resampling factor *** results show that the proposed method is effective on resampling factor estimation and outperforms some CNN-based methods.

MOSMOS: Multi-organ segmentation facilitated by medical report supervision

Owing to a large amount of multi-modal data in modern medical systems, such as medical images and reports, Medical Vision-Language Pre-training (Med-VLP) has demonstrated incredible achievements in coarse-grained downstream tasks (i.e., medical classification, retrieval, and visual question answering). However, the problem of transferring knowledge learned from Med-VLP to fine-grained multi-organ segmentation tasks has barely been investigated. Multi-organ segmentation is challenging mainly due to the lack of large-scale fully annotated datasets and the wide variation in the shape and size of the same organ between individuals with different diseases. In this paper, we propose a novel pre-training & fine-tuning framework for Multi-Organ Segmentation by harnessing Medical repOrt Supervision (MOSMOS). Specifically, we first introduce global contrastive learning to maximally align the medical image-report pairs in the pre-training stage. To remedy the granularity discrepancy, we further leverage multi-label recognition to implicitly learn the semantic correspondence between image pixels and organ tags. More importantly, our pre-trained models can be transferred to any segmentation model by introducing the pixel-tag attention maps. Different network settings, i.e., 2D U-Net and 3D UNETR, are utilized to validate the generalization. We have extensively evaluated our approach using different diseases and modalities on BTCV, AMOS, MMWHS, and BRATS datasets. Experimental results in various settings demonstrate the effectiveness of our framework. This framework can serve as the foundation to facilitate future research on automatic annotation tasks under the supervision of medical reports. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Worst-Case Integrity Attacks and Resilient State Estimation With Partially Secured Measurements

This paper examines the problem of optimal deception attacks against state estimation with partially secured measurements, where smart sensors transmit innovation sequences to the remote end for information fusion. Due to resource limitations or defensive countermeasures, the adversary can only modify data packets transmitted through unreliable channels. Meanwhile, the attack should be synthesized with sophistication to deceive an anomaly detector. To investigate the vulnerabilities of such estimation systems without feedback links and enhance security performance, the optimal attack policy is derived by formulating and explicitly solving a convex optimization problem, with the goal of maximizing the sum of estimation errors. Subsequently, a novel attack detection and resilient state estimation algorithm is proposed to ensure an acceptable level of estimation accuracy. The theoretical performance metrics, including false alarm rates for the proposed detector, are provided. Finally, the effectiveness of the results is confirmed through numerical examples. © 2014 IEEE.
