This paper presents a parallel method for simulating real-time 3D deformable objects using the volume preservation mass-spring system method on tetrahedron *** general,the conventional mass-spring system is manipulated as a force-driven method because it is fast,simple to implement,and the parameters can be ***,the springs in traditional mass-spring system can be excessively elongated which cause severe stability and robustness issues that lead to shape restoring,simulation blow-up,and huge volume loss of the deformable *** addition,traditional method that uses a serial process of the central processing unit(CPU)to solve the system in every frame cannot handle the complex structure of deformable object in ***,the first order implicit constraint enforcement for a mass-spring model is utilized to achieve accurate visual realism of deformable objects with tough constraint *** this paper,we applied the distance constraint and volume conservation constraints for each tetrahedron element to improve the stability of deformable object simulation using the mass-spring system and behave the same as its real-world *** reduce the computational complexity while ensuring stable simulation,we applied a method that utilizes OpenGL compute shader,a part of OpenGL Shading Language(GLSL)that executes on the graphic processing unit(GPU)to solve the numerical problems *** applied the proposed methods to experimental volumetric models,and volume percentages of all objects are *** average volume percentages of all models during the simulation using the mass-spring system,distance constraint,and the volume constraint method were 68.21%,89.64%,and 98.70%,*** proposed approaches are successfully applied to improve the stability of mass-spring system and the performance comparison from our experimental tests also shows that the GPU-based method is faster than CPU-based implementation for all cases.

Automated Detection of COVID-19 in Chest Radiographs: Leveraging Machine Learning Approaches

The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated the COVID-19 pandemic a global health emergency, prompting responses all over the world. The fatality rate is between 2% and 5%, and millions of people around the world have been infected. While the WHO recommends tests, resource-intensive testing has motivated the development of CNN technology for automated identification. Research employing machine learning models shows great accuracy in classifying X-ray and CT images for COVID-19 detection. These models include denseNet201, resnet50V2, inceptionv3, mobile net, and custom CNNs. The interpretation of chest X-rays has come a long way, yet there are still obstacles to overcome. In this paper, we present a way for using a machine learning model to categorize chest X-ray pictures into normal, COVID-19, viral pneumonia, and lung opacity, demonstrating the model's efficacy in assisting medical diagnosis, especially in time-sensitive situations like COVID-19. The Internet of Things is a network of physical objects like sensors, actuators, and software. The purpose of connecting is to exchange data with other objects and systems over the internet, enabling us to enhance data collection, minimize human efforts, save time, and make decisions. Secure that network is the most important IoT challenge, so we use ways to securely access all objects in the IoT network that are known with IoT authentication. Most of the attacks come from plain security problems, for example, the weakness of passwords, these techniques have some disadvantages;Password depends on user memory, and most people use default password which is vulnerable to attacks. This paper compares different IoT authentication schemes. Also, present an analysis of the different generation One Time Password (OTP) schemes like Lamport OTP, Elliptic Curve, and HOTP. The paper provides a simple light model using OTP-based MBTS KHF (Moataz, Basheer, Tarek, Salwa keyed hashing function). our model achieves high-level security with a very shorter key size and solves key size and key store problems than the other algorithms. Also, the paper model prevents users from initializing multiple connections for authentication to prevent attackers from guessing OTP. © 2022 ACM.

Fractional order algorithms have shown promising results in various signal processing applications due to their ability to improve performance without significantly increasing *** goal of this work is to inves-tigate the use of fractional order algorithm in the field of adaptive beam-forming,with a focus on improving performance while keeping complexity *** effectiveness of the algorithm will be studied and evaluated in this *** this paper,a fractional order least mean square(FLMS)algorithm is proposed for adaptive beamforming in wireless applications for effective utilization of *** algorithm aims to improve upon existing beam-forming algorithms,which are inefficient in performance,by offering faster convergence,better accuracy,and comparable computational *** FLMS algorithm uses fractional order gradient in addition to the standard ordered gradient in weight *** derivation of the algorithm is provided and supported by mathematical convergence *** is evaluated through simulations using mean square error(MSE)minimization as a metric and compared with the standard LMS algorithm for various *** results,obtained through Matlab simulations,show that the FLMS algorithm outperforms the standard LMS in terms of convergence speed,beampattern accuracy and scatter *** outperforms LMS in terms of convergence speed by 34%.From this,it can be concluded that FLMS is a better candidate for adaptive beamforming and other signal processing applications.

Despite achieving remarkable performance, Federated Learning (FL) encounters two important problems, i.e., low training efficiency and limited computational resources. In this article, we propose a new FL framework, i.e., FedDUMAP, with three original contributions, to leverage the shared insensitive data on the server in addition to the distributed data in edge devices so as to efficiently train a global model. First, we propose a simple dynamic server update algorithm, which takes advantage of the shared insensitive data on the server while dynamically adjusting the update steps on the server in order to speed up the convergence and improve the accuracy. Second, we propose an adaptive optimization method with the dynamic server update algorithm to exploit the global momentum on the server and each local device for superior accuracy. Third, we develop a layer-adaptive model pruning method to carry out specific pruning operations, which is adapted to the diverse features of each layer so as to attain an excellent tradeoff between effectiveness and efficiency. Our proposed FL model, FedDUMAP, combines the three original techniques and has a significantly better performance compared with baseline approaches in terms of efficiency (up to 16.9 times faster), accuracy (up to 20.4% higher), and computational cost (up to 62.6% smaller). © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Heart rate variability analysis in controls and epilepsy patients with or without receiving treatment: a clinical review and meta-analysis

The malfunctioning of cardiac autonomic control in epileptic patients develops ventricular tachyarrhythmia and causes sudden unexpected death in epilepsy patients (SUDEP). Various clinical studies investigated the effect of epilepsy on cardiac autonomic control by performing heart rate variability (HRV) analysis;however, results are unclear regarding whether sympathetic, parasympathetic, or both branches of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) are affected in epilepsy and also the impact of anticonvulsant treatment on the ANS. This study follows the systematic protocols to investigate epilepsy and its anticonvulsant treatment on cardiac autonomic control by using linear and nonlinear HRV analysis measures. The electronic databases of PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library were used for the collection of studies. Initially, 1475 articles were identified whereas after 2-staged exclusion criteria, 33 studies were selected for execution of the review process and meta-analysis. For meta-analysis, four comparisons were performed (epilepsy patients): (1) controls (healthy subject with no history of epilepsy) versus untreated patients;(2) treated (patients under treatment that have a seizure) versus untreated patients;(3) controls versus treated patients;and (4) refractory versus well-controlled (epilepsy patients that were seizure-free for last 1 year). For treated and untreated patients, there was no significant difference whereas well-controlled patients presented higher values as compared to refractory patients. Meta-analysis was performed for the time-domain, frequency-domain, and nonlinear parameters. Untreated patients in comparison with controls presented significantly lower HF (high-frequency) and LF (low-frequency) values. These LF (g = − 0.9;95% CI − 1.48 to − 0.37) and HF (g = − 0.69;95% confidence interval (CI) − 1.24 to − 0.16) values were affirming suppressed both, vagal and sympathetic activity, respectively. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a large-scale network of devices capable of sensing, data processing, and communicating with each other through different communication protocols. In today's technology ecosystem, IoT interacts with many application areas such as smart city, smart building, security, traffic, remote monitoring, health, energy, disaster, agriculture, industry. The IoT network in these scenarios comprises tiny devices, gateways, and cloud platforms. An IoT network is able to keep these fundamental components in transmission under many conditions with lightweight communication protocols taking into account the limited hardware features (memory, processor, energy, etc.) of tiny devices. These lightweight communication protocols affect the network traffic, reliability, bandwidth, and energy consumption of the IoT application. Therefore, determining the most proper communication protocol for application developers emerges as an important engineering problem. This paper presents a straightforward overview of the lightweight communication protocols, technological advancements in application layer for the IoT ecosystem. The survey then analyzes various recent lightweight communication protocols and reviews their strengths and limitations. In addition, the paper explains the experimental comparison of Constrained Applications Protocol (CoAP), Message Queuing Telemetry (MQTT), and WebSocket protocols, more convenient for tiny IoT devices. Finally, we discuss future research directions of communication protocols for IoT.

Data dependencies, such as functional dependencies (FDs), have been long recognized as integrity constraints in databases [42]. They are firstly utilized in database design [3]. Conventionally, data dependencies are extracted from application requirements for database standardization, and used in database design to ensure data quality. For instance, functional dependencies (FDs) [16] are employed to evaluate whether a relation is in third normal form (3NF) [42] or Boyce-Codd normal form (BCNF) [43]. FDs are extended to multivalued dependencies (MVDs) [13], i.e., every FD is also an MVD, in order to test whether a relation is in fourth normal form (4NF) [55].
