Sentiment analysis, a crucial task in discerning emotional tones within the text, plays a pivotal role in understandingpublic opinion and user sentiment across diverse *** numerous scholars conduct sentiment analysisin widely spoken languages such as English, Chinese, Arabic, Roman Arabic, and more, we come to grapplingwith resource-poor languages like Urdu literature which becomes a challenge. Urdu is a uniquely crafted language,characterized by a script that amalgamates elements from diverse languages, including Arabic, Parsi, Pashtu,Turkish, Punjabi, Saraiki, and more. As Urdu literature, characterized by distinct character sets and linguisticfeatures, presents an additional hurdle due to the lack of accessible datasets, rendering sentiment analysis aformidable undertaking. The limited availability of resources has fueled increased interest among researchers,prompting a deeper exploration into Urdu sentiment analysis. This research is dedicated to Urdu languagesentiment analysis, employing sophisticated deep learning models on an extensive dataset categorized into fivelabels: Positive, Negative, Neutral, Mixed, and Ambiguous. The primary objective is to discern sentiments andemotions within the Urdu language, despite the absence of well-curated datasets. To tackle this challenge, theinitial step involves the creation of a comprehensive Urdu dataset by aggregating data from various sources such asnewspapers, articles, and socialmedia comments. Subsequent to this data collection, a thorough process of cleaningand preprocessing is implemented to ensure the quality of the data. The study leverages two well-known deeplearningmodels, namely Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), for bothtraining and evaluating sentiment analysis performance. In this paper, we introduce InternVL 1.5, an open-source multimodal large language model(MLLM) to bridge the capability gap between open-source and proprietary commercial models in multimodal understanding. We introduce three simple improvements.(1) Strong vision encoder: we explored a continuous learning strategy for the large-scale vision foundation model — InternViT-6B, boosting its visual understanding capabilities, and making it can be transferred and reused in different LLMs.(2) Dynamic high-resolution: we divide images into tiles ranging from 1 to 40 of 448×448 pixels according to the aspect ratio and resolution of the input images, which supports up to 4K resolution input.(3) High-quality bilingual dataset: we carefully collected a high-quality bilingual dataset that covers common scenes, document images,and annotated them with English and Chinese question-answer pairs, significantly enhancing performance in optical character recognition(OCR) and Chinese-related tasks. We evaluate InternVL 1.5 through a series of benchmarks and comparative studies. Compared to both open-source and proprietary commercial models, InternVL 1.5 shows competitive performance, achieving state-of-the-art results in 8 of 18 multimodal benchmarks. Weakly-supervised online hashing has garnered significant attention recently, yet several challenges remain unresolved, such as how to effectively denoise tags, and how to efficiently learn hash functions in dynamic online scenarios. To tackle these challenges, we propose a novel method named Tag-Aware Weakly-supervised Online Hashing with enhanced joint representation (TA-WOH). Our method creates an enhanced joint representation with CLIP-based features in order to reduce the tag noise. Additionally, we introduce a tag association and noise model for improved similarity matrix and hash code learning. A novel mapping mechanism is developed to align joint representations with the optimal tag space, enhancing both the accuracy and robustness of the model. The computational complexity of TA-WOH is dependent solely on the size of the incoming data, ensuring scalability and efficiency for large-scale datasets. Extensive experiments on two datasets demonstrate that our method surpasses several state-of-the-art methods in both accuracy and efficiency. © 2025 IEEE.

The integration of machine learning (ML) algorithms in healthcare is transforming diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient management. However, the complexity and diversity of these algorithms, coupled with heterogeneous medical data, challenge practitioners without ML expertise. Traditional trial-and-error algorithm selection is inefficient and often suboptimal. This paper introduces a meta-learning framework for automated algorithm recommendation in medical applications. We extract a rich set of meta-features from 80 healthcare datasets, including statistical, information-theoretic, structural, landmarking, and complexity metrics. These meta-features train a Ridge regression meta-learner to model relationships between meta-features and the performance of eight classification algorithms. For any new healthcare task, the meta-learner predicts the most suitable algorithm based on the dataset’s meta-features. Our framework, evaluated on diverse real-world medical datasets, outperforms three other meta-learning systems in algorithm selection. By automating this process, we aim to enhance access to advanced ML, streamline workflows, and accelerate ML research translation into clinical practice, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes. © 2024 IEEE.

A review of generative models for virtual human motion driving

Virtual human motion driving focuses on generating and controlling realistic human motions, from facial expressions to body movements. These motions are driven by various types of input signals, such as visual and acoustic features,textual prompts, or a combination thereof. This survey delivers an in-depth examination of generative models for virtual human motion driving, with a specific emphasis on recent models. A taxonomy of virtual human motion driving networks designed for talking-face and human-pose generation is provided. The former mainly concentrates on lip synchronization,differentiation of emotions, and personalized expressions, while the latter mainly includes co-speech gesture generation and text-to-motion prediction. Moreover, available datasets and evaluation metrics for virtual human motion driving tasks are discussed, applications and real products related to virtual human motion driving are explored, along with their challenges,limitations, and potential future developments. The objective of this survey is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the present advancements in talking-face and human-pose generation models, with a focus on the future potential of virtual human motion driving. This endeavor aims to lay the groundwork for the development of extensive applications for virtual humans.

Point Transformers (PoinTr) have shown great potential in point cloud completion recently. Nevertheless, effective domain adaptation that improves transferability toward target domains remains unexplored. In this paper, we delve into this topic and empirically discover that direct feature alignment on point Transformer’s CNN backbone only brings limited improvements since it cannot guarantee sequence-wise domain-invariant features in the Transformer. To this end, we propose a pioneering Domain Adaptive Point Transformer (DAPoinTr) framework for point cloud completion. DAPoinTr consists of three key components: Domain Query-based Feature Alignment (DQFA), Point Token-wise Feature alignment (PTFA), and Voted Prediction Consistency (VPC). In particular, DQFA is presented to narrow the global domain gaps from the sequence via the presented domain proxy and domain query at the Transformer encoder and decoder, respectively. PTFA is proposed to close the local domain shifts by aligning the tokens, i.e., point proxy and dynamic query, at the Transformer encoder and decoder, respectively. VPC is designed to consider different Transformer decoders as multiple of experts (MoE) for ensembled prediction voting and pseudo-label generation. Extensive experiments with visualization on several domain adaptation benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our DAPoinTr compared with state-of-the-art methods. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). Reinforcement learning-enabled swarm intelligence method for computation task offloading in Internet-of-Things blockchain

Blockchain technology, based on decentralized data storage and distributed consensus design, has become a promising solution to address data security risks and provide privacy protection in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) due to its tamper-proof and non-repudiation features. Although blockchain typically does not require the endorsement of third-party trust organizations, it mostly needs to perform necessary mathematical calculations to prevent malicious attacks, which results in stricter requirements for computation resources on the participating devices. By offloading the computation tasks required to support blockchain consensus to edge service nodes or the cloud, while providing data privacy protection for IoT applications, it can effectively address the limitations of computation and energy resources in IoT devices. However, how to make reasonable offloading decisions for IoT devices remains an open issue. Due to the excellent self-learning ability of Reinforcement Learning (RL), this paper proposes a RL enabled Swarm Intelligence Optimization Algorithm (RLSIOA) that aims to improve the quality of initial solutions and achieve efficient optimization of computation task offloading decisions. The algorithm considers various factors that may affect the revenue obtained by IoT devices executing consensus algorithms (e.g., Proof-of-Work), it optimizes the proportion of sub-tasks to be offloaded and the scale of computing resources to be rented from the edge and cloud to maximize the revenue of devices. Experimental results show that RLSIOA can obtain higher-quality offloading decision-making schemes at lower latency costs compared to representative benchmark algorithms. © 2024 Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications
