Predicting Student Behavior Using a Neutrosophic Deep Learning Model

We developed an information system using an object-oriented programming language and a distributed database (DDB) consisting of multiple interconnected databases across a computer network, managed by a distributed database management system (DDBMS) for easy access. An intelligent system was designed to assess the difficulty level of preliminary exams and select top-performing advanced students using a Neutrosophic Deep Learning Model. The dataset was randomly split into training (80%) and testing (20%) sets, and the model, trained with the Adam optimizer at a 0.001 learning rate over 50 epochs, incorporated early stopping based on validation loss. This system, implemented at a traditional Egyptian university, achieved a 95% accuracy in predicting student dropout. Student behavior, influenced by personal, environmental, and academic factors, is often evaluated subjectively, leading to inconsistent results. Traditional machine learning approaches struggle with the inherent uncertainty in behavioral data. To address this, we combined neutrosophic theory—a mathematical framework that accounts for truth, falsity, and indeterminacy—with deep learning, which excels at learning complex data relationships, to predict student outcomes such as dropout rates. Evaluating the model on student data, including attendance and grades, showed superior accuracy, achieving a determination coefficient of 0.95, demonstrating the approach's potential for identifying at-risk students and enabling targeted interventions. © 2025, University of New Mexico. A mathematical multi-objective optimization model and metaheuristic algorithm for effective advertising in the social internet of things

The integration of social networks with the Internet of Things (IoT) has been explored in recent research, giving rise to the Social Internet of Things (SIoT). One promising application of SIoT is viral marketing, which plays a critical role in modern advertising. However, current solutions proposed for viral marketing are often impractical in real-world scenarios, and there has been limited investigation into viral marketing within the context of SIoT. To address this issue, we present a multi-objective integer linear programming model named ILP-ASoT that facilitates advertising through SIoT. Our approach introduces two realistic parameters: the node sociality rate and the node appropriateness rate as an advertising destination. By balancing the cost of selecting a seed set with the number of users who receive the advertisement, our model offers an appropriate trade-off. Since this is proven as an NP-hard problem, A PSO-based metaheuristic algorithm is proposed to provide near-optimal solutions for advertising in SIoT, called PSO-ASoT. Through simulations, we show that our PSO-ASoT algorithm outperforms state-of-the-art algorithms in several metrics, such as influence spread, advertising cost, and duplicated advertising rate. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Fine Tuning Attribute Weighted Naïve Bayes (FTAWNB) is a reliable modified Naïve Bayes model. Even though it is able to provide high accuracy on ordinal data, this model is sensitive to outliers. To improve the performance of FTAWNB, this research modified the Partial Instances Reduction (PIR) technique to make the FTAWNB more adaptive to outliers. Nevertheless, in contrast to the original PIR technique, which substitutes missing values for data values deemed outliers, the PIR technique suggested in this study replaces data values deemed outliers using a Naïve Bayes weighting approach. The attribute values from the outlier data are replaced with the highest probability values for the attributes in the actual class. This PIR technique is referred to as modified PIR. The FTAWNB model with modified PIR has been evaluated using the Gaming Disorder dataset. Replacing the four attributes with the least amount of information resulted in accuracy gains of 99.74%, an increase of 1.53% over the FTAWNB model. The experimental result shows that adding the modified PIR technique to the FTAWNB model can handle the outlier in the data, proving it by increasing the performance in terms of accuracy, precision, and recall without pruning the dataset used. © 2025, Ital Publication. Electronic Waste Management Using Smart Contracts on the Blockchain Platform

Nowadays, electronic waste is no longer considered ordinary waste;instead, it is recognized as valuable and hazardous waste containing significant amounts of precious metals. Therefore, it should not be disposed of illegally in any location. Traditional processes for managing electronic waste may not be suitable for the industry's future needs due to environmental pollution, high costs, and low efficiency. Consequently, the management of electronic waste has become a necessity in today's world. This research focuses on utilizing smart contracts to establish stable and regular waste management processes and activities. The proposed method encompasses all steps involved in waste management, including collection, separation, routing, transportation, destruction, and recycling. These steps are managed within a blockchain platform and under a smart contract. To simulate and evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, colored petri nets (CPNs) have been employed. The results demonstrate that the presented approach establishes a balanced situation in terms of reliability, response time, and availability parameters when providing services to customers within the context of a smart city. These results are achieved through various steps such as registration, authentication, interaction, routing, and checking the capacity of smart bins. The utilization of blockchain technology and smart contracts ensures transparency, efficiency, and accountability throughout the waste management process. The use of CPNs for simulation and evaluation further validates the effectiveness of the proposed method in achieving reliable and timely waste management services in a smart city environment. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

A Framework for Promoting Passive Breast Cancer Monitoring: Deep Learning as an Interpretation Tool for Breast Thermograms

Introduction: Several types of cancer can be detected early through thermography, which uses thermal profiles to image tissues in recent years, thermography has gained increasing attention due to its non-invasive and radiation-free nature. There is a growing need for thermographic images of breast cancer lesions in different nationalities and ages to develop this technique, however. This study aims to introduce a dataset of breast thermograms. Material and Methods: In this study, thermographic images of breast cancer from Iranian samples were prepared and confirmed due to the limited number of breast thermogram databases. The prepared database was tested using artificial intelligence and another well-known DMR database (Database for Mastology Research) in this study to determine its reliability. Results: A variety of deep learning architectures and transfer learning are used to evaluate these databases for accuracy, sensitivity, speed, training compliance, and validation compliance. According to best-fitted structures for both types of databases, the database obtained from this study has a quality comparable to the DMR reference database, with minimum accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, precision, and F-score of 80%, 86%, 86%, 88%, and 87%, respectively. Conclusion: Using thermography as a method of early breast screening is demonstrated to be effective. In comparison to DMR, the lower statistics of the proposed database (between 2 and 7 percent) indicates that more diverse breast thermograms should be captured in conjunction with improvements to imaging equipment as well as adherence to thermography recording protocols in order to improve the reliability and efficiency of the database. © (2024), (Mashhad University of Medical sciences). DeepLeaf: an optimized deep learning approach for automated recognition of grapevine leaf diseases

Plant diseases can cause severe losses in agricultural production, impacting food security and safety. Early detection of plant diseases is crucial to minimize crop damage and ensure agricultural sustainability. Manual monitoring is often impractical due to the complexity and time involved, making automated disease recognition essential. This study presents a new Plant Disease Detection Algorithm (PDDA) called DeepLeaf focused on identifying four common grapevine diseases: leaf blight, black rot, stable, and black measles. The PDDA integrates three key modules: an Image Preprocessing Module, a Feature Extraction Module, and an Optimized Convolutional Neural Network (OCNN)-based Classification Module. The OCNN forms the core of the classification system, with its hyperparameters fine-tuned using fuzzy optimization to enhance performance. Preprocessing techniques are applied to analyze diseased leaves, and a logistic regression algorithm is used to downsample the features for better analysis. The CNN is trained on images from the Plant Village dataset, allowing it to detect and classify grapevine leaf diseases accurately. The proposed model's efficiency in the automated diagnosis of grapevine diseases is demonstrated by its remarkable 99.7% accuracy rate. This high accuracy indicates that the PDDA may help with more effective and scalable plant disease monitoring, which will ultimately allow better agricultural practices. © The Author(s) 2025.

Recently,nano-systems based on molecular communications via diffusion(MCvD)have been implemented in a variety of nanomedical applications,most notably in targeted drug delivery system(TDDS)***,because the MCvD is unreliable and there exists molecular noise and inter symbol interference(ISI),cooperative nano-relays can acquire the reliability for drug delivery to targeted diseased cells,especially if the separation distance between the nano transmitter and nano receiver is *** this work,we propose an approach for optimizing the performance of the nano system using cooperative molecular communications with a nano relay scheme,while accounting for blood flow effects in terms of drift *** fractions of the molecular drug that should be allocated to the nano transmitter and nano relay positioning are computed using a collaborative optimization problem solved by theModified Central Force Optimization(MCFO)*** the previous work,the probability of bit error is expressed in a closed-form *** is used as an objective function to determine the optimal velocity of the drug molecules and the detection threshold at the nano *** simulation results show that the probability of bit error can be dramatically reduced by optimizing the drift velocity,detection threshold,location of the nano-relay in the proposed nano system,and molecular drug budget.
