This study examines the spatiotemporal changes in land use land cover (LULC) from 1990 to 2023 in the Islamkot subdistrict of Tharparkar, Pakistan, an area known for its vast coal reserves and environmental challenges. A change detection analysis was performed using the maximum likelihood supervised classification method, and a Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) analysis was conducted to evaluate vegetation variations. The findings indicate significant changes in land cover patterns: settlement, vegetation, water bodies, and mining areas increased by approximately 3.02%, 20.2%, 3.8%, and 0.9%, respectively, while bare land decreased by 27.9%. The primary drivers of these changes were identified as mining activities and precipitation variations. These results provide a foundation for informed land use planning, conservation efforts, and regional sustainable development strategies. © 2025 The Society for Range Management

Natural rubber (NR) has been utilized in several products from its interesting unique properties. This study aimed to develop the pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA) as the transdermal patches from NR by two-roll mill kneading technique. Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) was blended as a tackifier agent. The propranolol HCl and ibuprofen at different parts per hundred of rubber (phr) were loaded into this developed PSA. The appearance, thickness, crystallinity, contact angle, water sorption and erosion, adhesion, and in vitro drug permeation of these patches were evaluated. The thickness of all patches was in the range of 0.46–1.07 mm. The drug-loaded patches showed diverse unique topographies depended on both type and amount of drug incorporation. From powder X-ray diffraction analysis, the plain NR-PSA showed the amorphous structure, while the halo pattern inserted with sharp drug peaks were observed on drug-loaded PSA. The contact angle of all samples was in the range of 80–90° indicating their hydrophobic surface. However, they displayed an increased % water sorption with the time of soaking. The 2–4 N adhesion force was evident for all fabricated drug-loaded PSAs. The propranolol HCl permeated from PSA notably lower than ibuprofen. The residual of the drugs in patches was about 85–90 %. These results provided the basic physicochemical properties for the further development of PSA as the transdermal patch. [copyright information to be updated in production process] © 2022

This paper considers one dimensional unsteady heat condition in a media with temperature dependent thermal conductivity. When the thermal conductivity depends on the temperature, the corresponding heat equation is nonlinear. At one or both boundaries, a relaxing boundary condition is applied. It is a time dependent condition that approaches continuously, as time increases, a certain time independent condition. Such behavior at the boundaries arises naturally in some physical systems. As an example, we propose a simple model system that can give rise to either Dirichlet or convective relaxing boundary condition. Due to the dependence of the thermal conductivity on the temperature, the convective condition is nonlinear. For the solution of the problem, we propose a new numerical approach that first discretizes the heat equation in time, whereby a sequence of two-point boundary value problems (TPBVPs) is obtained. We use implicit time discretization, which provides for unconditional stability of the method. If the initial condition is given, we can solve consecutively the TPBVPs and get approximations of the temperature at the different time levels. For the solution of the TPBVPs, we apply the finite difference method. The arising nonlinear systems are solved by Newton’s method. The paper presents advancements in healthcare data capture through the application of image-based extraction techniques, which include sophisticated image processing techniques such as resizing and adaptive thresholding, for prescription information. With the increasing digitization of medical records, automating the extraction of relevant data from prescription documents has become crucial. This research explores the utilization of image processing and optical character recognition (OCR) methodologies to extract prescription information accurately. By converting prescription documents into image format and employing OCR algorithms, the text content is extracted and parsed for critical details such as medication names, dosages, and patient instructions. Notably, our methodology excels in overcoming limitations associated with handwritten documents, achieving an impressive accuracy rate of 98%. This image-based approach offers a streamlined and efficient method for capturing prescription data, reducing manual data entry efforts, and minimizing potential errors. Experimental evaluations demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed approach, highlighting its potential to enhance healthcare data capture and improve patient care. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.. In this paper we present an autonomous robotic system for picking, transporting, and precisely placing magnetically graspable objects. Such a system would be especially beneficial for construction tasks where human presence is not possible, e.g. due to chemical or radioactive pollution. The system comprises of two primary components — a wheeled, mobile platform and a manipulator arm. Both are interconnected through an onboard computer and utilize various onboard sensors for estimating the state of the robot and its surroundings. By using efficient processing algorithms, data from the onboard sensors can be used in a feedback loop during all critical operational sections, resulting in a robust system capable of operating on uneven terrain and in environments without access to satellite navigation. system functionality has been proven in Challenge II of the MBZIRC 2020 competition. The Challenge required a ground robot to build an L-shaped structure of colored bricks laid in a predefined pattern. Such a mission incorporates several demanding subchallenges, spanning multiple branches of computer science, cybernetics, and robotics. Moreover, all the subchallenges had to be performed flawlessly in rapid succession, in order to complete the Challenge successfully. The extreme difficulty of the task was highlighted in the MBZIRC 2020 finals, where our system was among the only two competitors (out of 32) that managed to complete the task in autonomous mode.

The idea and prototype of an Internet of Things (IoT) based health monitoring gadget are introduced in this paper. We concentrate on leveraging the cloud and IoT to monitor temperature an coronary heart rate in real-time. This design can be utilized for the early diagnosis of heart illnesses given the rising number of cardiac patients throughout the world. Contrary to the majority of the current monitoring methods and systems, a variety of wireless technologies are available, but their range is constrained. IoT is being used in this session to monitor. There is no distance restriction with IoT. Through the internet, we can test a patient's coronary heart rate and temperature from anywhere. Our strategy involves using the cloud to track the temperature and heart rate in real time. Through the use of IoT technology, the recorded temperature and heart rate may be saved and instantly evaluated for prognosis and diagnosis. An integrated GPRS microcontroller on a single chip makes up the suggested hardware architecture for connecting to the internet. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Impact Analysis of Insufficient Destination Resources on VoIP Service Quality: Case Study

This research investigates the disruption caused by insufficient destination resources in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) networks. The study is based on a case study of service disruptions at a Public Service Company (PSC) where the public experienced dropped calls. The research employs Ribbon Analytics, a big data analytics platform, to measure the concurrent session connection on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). The observation of the VoIP network followed a specific topology with 22 Session Border Controller (SBC) nodes, 2 Call Detail Record (CDR) servers, and 2 Ribbon Analytics (RA) devices. The results indicate that the call failure occurred because the number of sessions had reached the maximum limit. The solution proposed is to increase the number of sessions; however, this cannot be done immediately due to contractual constraints between the telecom operators and the PSC. An alternative solution is to provide a call answering machine managed by AI. Future work could also use text message in the form of chat prompts from AI. The study highlights the importance of big data analysis in identifying and resolving service disruptions in VoIP networks.

Parkinson's Disease (PD), a prevalent global neurological disorder, presents with motor symptoms like rigidity and tremors. Accurate severity assessment is vital for intervention evaluation. This study uses computer vision, specifically Kinect cameras and deep learning, to develop a system for assessing the severity of Parkinson's disease. Leveraging Kinect cameras' Precision in tracking key motion patterns, the system utilizes convolutional neural networks, namely Spatial-Temporal Graph Convolutional Network (STGCN) and Two-Stream Adaptive Graph Convolutional Network (2SAGCN), to detect movement anomalies and provide quantitative severity measures. A novel model is proposed, representing an enhanced version of 2SAGCN featuring a channel and graph attention module. Parkinson's severity classification comprises 11 classes based on 9 motion categories, totaling 99 classes. Three-dimensional transfer learning and data augmentation improve model Accuracy. This research advances non-invasive, quantitative Parkinson's assessment using innovative technology and advanced neural network models. The program is hosted on GitHub for implementation and result observation. The 10-fold cross-validation results of the best model, incorporating 2SAGCN structure, Graph, and Channel Attention, yield Accuracy, Precision, Recall, and F1-Score of Confidence Intervals 94.12± 0.14, 99.6 ± 0.20, 98.9 ± 0.10,99.2 ± 0.80 respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

With the expanding capabilities of fighter aircraft in gauging their targets with great accuracy, comes the necessity that fighter pilots possess higher talents in making the correct decision. Because human error is frequently a barrier to making precise and timely decisions, a control mechanism is required to regulate the trajectory of aircraft during combat maneuvers. In this paper, a combat-maneuver fuzzy program is developed and applied to the inverse kinematics of the F-16 aircraft. The program produces a new path for the plane to achieve the maneuver such that the minimum distance between the resulting path and the object aircraft path is larger than a specified distance (critical distance). Also, spatial defensive maneuvers against spatial offensive maneuvers of bandits were realized, accordingly, this research emphasizes the importance of process innovation in the design of adaptive air combat control systems, enabling more effective response strategies.
