In today's digital era, the Internet holds a fundamental position in daily life, particularly in Sri Lanka. This study addresses two primary objectives: first, to quantify the technical performance of internet services, and second, to assess customer satisfaction and its alignment with service provider performance. Conducted in the Narthanagala Grama Niladhari Division, specifically the 616C division in Horana, the study utilizes a structured questionnaire to gather customer experience data. Technical data are collected using the "Open Signal"and "Network Cell Info"mobile applications. Statistical techniques are employed to achieve the objectives. Principal Component Analysis reduces the initial 9 dimensions of internet service quality to a singular dimension, with the primary principal component explaining 84.40% of variance. This reduction is validated through the composite index of "Application Based Technical Performance of Mobile Data Service (AppBased_TecPerf)". Factor Analysis and simple linear regression unveil two influential latent factors: Customer-Perceived Technical Performance of Mobile Data Service (Customer_TecPerf) and Customer Service Satisfaction (Customer_Service), collectively accounting for 60.66% of variability across six dimensions. These dimensions include Video Quality Experience, Gaming Experience, Voice & Video Quality Experience on Social Media Apps, Client Rating for Internet Speed at Residence, Client Rating for Satisfaction with Price Fairness, and Client Rating for Customer Service Quality. Reliability analysis confirms the effectiveness of these factors in measuring the Application Based Technical Performance of Mobile Data Service. Regression analysis confirms that the index, AppBased_TecPerf, effectively captures Customer_TecPerf. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, a variety of new frameworks streamlining the process of agent-based modeling has emerged. These frameworks serve different purposes and each offers a unique set of features. In this practical comparative study, we evaluate the performance of various ABM frameworks through a series of benchmark simulations. By comparing the distinct functionalities offered by these tools, we aim to assist in the selection of an appropriate ABM toolkit for developing system models. The rapid advancement of technology has undoubtedly brought comfort to humanity, but it also necessitates robust authentication measures to ensure security in the ever-expanding e-world. This research aims to address the critical aspects of security, focusing on end-user authentication. The proposed solution incorporates multiple factors, including location-based authentication, text-based authentication with enhanced encryption standards, and facial recognition authentication. Location-based authentication serves to restrict access geographically, mitigating the risk of impersonation by enforcing strict geographic limits on facility access. Strong text passwords, utilizing a unique algorithm with a classic salt method, add an extra layer of complexity for potential attackers, making it challenging to compromise user credentials. The incorporation of facial recognition technology acts as a deterrent against non-human entities attempting unauthorized access. Leveraging deep learning and API servers ensures precision and scalability in the model, enhancing its effectiveness in real-world scenarios. These multi-factor authentication techniques collectively contribute to a secure, reliable, and forward-looking solution to address the evolving landscape of digital security threats. In adhering to the age-old adage "prevention is better than cure,"the research emphasizes the importance of proactive measures to safeguard against potential security breaches. © 2024 IEEE.

Management and information systems are considered two major disciplines that have to be combined to benefit from knowledge for rational decision-making which means strict procedures utilizing objective knowledge and logic for many years. Effective and efficient use of already invested organizational resources is a key subject to gain a competitive advantage by making decisions with the help of AI techniques which benefit from both internal and external knowledge. This paper introduces a new model to get benefits from open-source intelligence (OSINT) in the context of external knowledge with a green computing approach for solving global organizational challenges in the scope of Society 5.0. This research has a dual background, theoretical and practical. Problem defining and hypothesis formulation was carried out by literature review. Then, the application developed according to the proposed model was put into action in some organizations for testing, and feedback from experts who participated in the proof of concept (POC) activities was evaluated and discussed empirically. Finally, the findings of our research, the advantages of our model, and both academic and business future work were summarized. It has been practically determined that the model and application we have developed are largely successful in line with our hypotheses. However, the weaknesses and advantages of our study were also revealed. Our research is the first study that combines Management Information systems and Open-Source Intelligence disciplines with the approach of Society 5.0 to support SMEs in analyzing open-source information to build better decision-making mechanisms. A Hypergraph Matching-Based Subchannel Allocation for Multi-Platoon's Communications

In a platoon communication scenario, the Platoon Leader (PL) vehicle interacts with the gNodeB (gNB) to obtain some assigned radio resources and then the obtained radio resources are allocated to the PL vehicle and its Platoon Member (PM) vehicles. The high transmission delay in the platoon network affects the quality of vehicles' connectivity. Therefore, the issues of improving radio resource's spectral efficiency and stability of the vehicle platooning with limited radio resources need to be tackled. This work proposes the 2-STage Resource Allocation (2-STRA) method for multi-platoon communication to reduce the transmission latency of platoon vehicles, i.e., it can improve the data transmission rates of platoon vehicles for the conditions of various speeds and various numbers of subchannels. In the $1^{st}$ stage, a greedy algorithm that jointly considers subchannel allocation and power control for PL vehicles' resource allocation is devised. In the $2^{nd}$ stage, the resource allocation for PM vehicles, which is based on the subchannels that are not allocated to PL vehicles, is resolved. A tripartite hypergraph, in which a tripartite hyperedge links:I 1) cluster of PM vehicles that use the same subchannel;2) individual cellular user;and 3) subchannel, is adopted to devise the PM vehicles' resource allocation algorithm. The simulation results show that the proposed 2-STRA method can have better performance in terms of spectral efficiency and the sum of data transmission rate comparing with the other methods. © 2013 IEEE.

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a debilitating neurodegenerative disease that has severe impacts on an individual’s quality of life. Compared with structural and functional MRI-based biomarkers for the disease, electroencephalography (EEG) can provide more accessible alternatives for clinical insights. While deep learning (DL) techniques have provided excellent outcomes, many techniques fail to model spatial information and dynamic brain connectivity, and face challenges in robust feature learning, limited data sizes, and poor explainability. To address these issues, we proposed a novel graph neural network (GNN) technique for explainable PD detection using resting state EEG. Specifically, we employ structured global convolutions with contrastive learning to better model complex features with limited data, a novel multi-head graph structure learner to capture the non-Euclidean structure of EEG data, and a head-wise gradient-weighted graph attention explainer to offer neural connectivity insights. We developed and evaluated our method using the UC San Diego Parkinson’s disease EEG dataset, and achieved 69.40% detection accuracy in subject-wise leave-one-out cross-validation while generating intuitive explanations for the learnt graph topology. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Wireless communications are particularly vulnerable to eavesdropping attacks due to their broadcast nature. To effectively deal with eavesdroppers, existing security techniques usually require accurate channel state information (CSI), e.g., for friendly jamming (FJ), and/or additional computing resources at transceivers, e.g., cryptography-based solutions, which unfortunately may not be feasible in practice. This challenge is even more acute in low-end IoT devices. We thus introduce a novel deep learning-based FJ framework that can effectively defeat eavesdropping attacks with imperfect CSI and even without CSI of legitimate channels. In particular, we first develop an autoencoder-based communication architecture with FJ, namely, AEFJ, to jointly maximize the secrecy rate and minimize the block error rate (BLER) at the receiver without requiring perfect CSI of the legitimate channels. In addition, to deal with the case without CSI, we leverage the mutual information neural estimation (MINE) concept and design a MINE-based FJ scheme that can achieve comparable security performance to the conventional FJ methods that require perfect CSI. Extensive simulations in a multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) system demonstrate that our proposed solution can effectively deal with eavesdropping attacks in various settings. Moreover, the proposed framework can seamlessly integrate MIMO security and detection tasks into a unified end-to-end learning process. This integrated approach can significantly maximize the throughput and minimize the BLER, offering a good solution for enhancing communication security in wireless communication systems. © 2014 IEEE.

Human biometric analysis has gotten much attention due to itswidespread use in different research areas, such as security, surveillance,health, human identification, and classification. Human gait is one of the keyhuman traits that can identify and classify humans based on their age, gender,and ethnicity. Different approaches have been proposed for the estimation ofhuman age based on gait so far. However, challenges are there, for which anefficient, low-cost technique or algorithm is needed. In this paper, we proposea three-dimensional real-time gait-based age detection system using a machinelearning approach. The proposed system consists of training and testingphases. The proposed training phase consists of gait features extraction usingthe Microsoft Kinect (MS Kinect) controller, dataset generation based onjoints’ position, pre-processing of gait features, feature selection by calculatingthe Standard error and Standard deviation of the arithmetic mean and bestmodel selection using R2 and adjusted R2 techniques. T-test and ANOVAtechniques show that nine joints (right shoulder, right elbow, right hand, leftknee, right knee, right ankle, left ankle, left, and right foot) are statisticallysignificant at a 5% level of significance for age estimation. The proposedtesting phase correctly predicts the age of a walking person using the resultsobtained from the training phase. The proposed approach is evaluated on thedata that is experimentally recorded from the user in a real-time *** (50) volunteers of different ages participated in the experimental *** the limited features, the proposed method estimates the age with 98.0%accuracy on experimental images acquired in real-time via a classical generallinear regression model.

The experiment was carried out by growing BaTiO3 (Undoped or Li-doped) on p-type Si(1 0 0) substrates using the Chemical Solution Deposition (CSD) method and spin coating at a rotational speed of 3000 rpm for 60 s, followed by heating at 850 °C. The characterization results show that the bandgap energy value of the thin film due to lithium doping reduces the bandgap energy value. This is presumably because the donor atom added to a semiconductor causes the allowable energy level to be slightly below the conduction band. The presence of this new band causes the thin film bandgap energy to decrease with a five-valent tantalum dip. The morphological properties showed that the BaTiO3/Si(1 0 0) thin film particles in the deposited lithium had a fairly homogeneous grain. With the addition of lithium acetate as a binder into barium titanate, the grain size is getting smaller because it is suspected that the lithium-ion radius is smaller than the barium-ion radius. Measurement of I-V on the thin film shows that the output voltage value increases with more light intensity hitting the surface of the thin film. The greater the light intensity, the greater the energy of the photons, so the electrons are easier to jump. The three things above (both electrical and morphological properties) conclude that the thin films grown have the potential for photovoltaics. © 2023
