In social networks groups play a crucial role and making decisions based on majority consensus. Which influencer nodes should we select if our goal is to broadcast a subject in a target group and increase the number of active nodes in this group? Here, we study a new influence maximization (IM) problem that focuses on individuals in a target group who are activated by some relevant topic or information. Target Group Influence Maximization (TGIM) aims to select k influencer nodes in such a way that the number of activated nodes in the target group is maximized. In this paper, we study TGIM and focus on activating the majority of nodes in the target group. We propose an algorithm named Reinforcement Learning for Target Group (RLTG) based on the analysis of the influence of nodes on the target group. The algorithm uses the reinforcement learning approach to learn the optimal path from each target node to some candidate influencers. The experimental results indicate that the recommended approach outperforms known methods. © 2024 IEEE.

This study presents a general optimal trajectory planning(GOTP)framework for autonomous vehicles(AVs)that can effectively avoid obstacles and guide AVs to complete driving tasks safely and ***,we employ the fifth-order Bezier curve to generate and smooth the reference path along the road *** coordinates are then transformed to achieve the curvature continuity of the generated *** the road constraints and vehicle dynamics,limited polynomial candidate trajectories are generated and smoothed in a curvilinear coordinate ***,in selecting the optimal trajectory,we develop a unified and auto-tune objective function based on the principle of least action by employing AVs to simulate drivers’behavior and summarizing their manipulation characteristics of“seeking benefits and avoiding losses.”Finally,by integrating the idea of receding-horizon optimization,the proposed framework is achieved by considering dynamic multi-performance objectives and selecting trajectories that satisfy feasibility,optimality,and *** simulations and experiments are performed,and the results demonstrate the framework’s feasibility and effectiveness,which avoids both dynamic and static obstacles and applies to various scenarios with multi-source interactive traffic ***,we prove that the proposed method can guarantee real-time planning and safety requirements compared to drivers’manipulation.

The paper proposes 'AdaptVR' a virtual reality (VR) system designed to enhance dental training through realistic real tile simulations and adaptive learning environment, to overcome traditional training challenges in dental education. The system aims to provide personalized learning experiences, facilitating skill development and comprehensive assessments for students. The proposed system was tested by 17 dentistry students and 5 experts. AdaptVR framework is done for operative dentistry which is removing decay especially Class I and Class II of classification of caries. Results from the experiment revealed that 77.3% of participants exceed their expectations, 59.1% saw a positive effect on their dental skills, 90.9% reported higher levels of engagement, and 65% indicated that vibration and force feedback provided students with a genuine sensation. AdpatVR's experimental findings show an average accuracy of 50.85% for Class I, 51.7% for Class II, and 82.09% for the Class II box technique. The error percentage averages 49% for Class I, 48% for Class II, and 18% for Class II box technique. © 2024 IEEE.

The utilization of binary representation of the embeddings over real valued features represents a promising avenue, in terms of memory savings and faster operations for various machine learning models. In this research paper, we delve into the exploration of barcode representation for text embeddings derived from BERT, which is optimized using Co-ordinate Search algorithm. These binary embeddings present a compact representation of text, thereby mitigating memory and computational demands, which is especially advantageous in the context of resource-intensive large-scale text processing tasks. In our study, we introduce a novel optimal threshold technique, coupled with the Coordinate Search algorithm to transform continuous BERT embeddings into binary barcodes thereby enabling effective Natural Language Processing while sustaining computational efficiency. The optimal barcode representations have been applied in Natural Language Processing applications, showcasing its innovative potential in revolutionizing text representation. Through an extensive series of experiments on various NLP task encompassing diverse datasets, we comprehensively evaluate our approach, comparing it against a spectrum of thresholding techniques. The binary embeddings achieved by optimal thresholds outperform traditional binarization methods in terms of accuracy. The proposed method for generating a binary representations is versatile, being independent of the model, data and task, making it applicable across various machine learning applications. © 2024 IEEE.

Feature selection is the most significant pre-processing activity, which intends to reduce the data dimensionality for enhancing the machine learning process. The evaluation of feature selection must consider classification, performance, efficiency, stability, and many factors. Nowadays, uncertainty is commonly occurred in the feature selection process due to time limitations, imprecise information, and the subjectivity of human minds. Moreover, the theory of intuitionistic fuzzy set has been proven as an extremely valuable tool to tackle the uncertainty and ambiguity that arises in many practical situations. Thus, this study introduces a novel feature selection framework using intuitionistic fuzzy entropy. In this regard, new entropy for IFS is proposed first and then compared with some of the previously developed entropy measures. As entropy is a measure of uncertainty present in data (features), features with higher entropy values are filtered out, and the remaining features having lower entropy values have been used to classify the data. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed entropy-based feature selection, some experiments are done with ten standard benchmark datasets by employing a support vector machine, K-nearest neighbor, and Naïve Bias classifiers. The outcomes of the study validate that the proposed entropy-based filter feature selection is more feasible and impressive than existing filter-based feature selection methods. © 2023 by the authors.

Android currently dominates the smartphone market, accounting for an impressive market share of over 70%. However, because of its widespread acceptance, mobile operating systems have become a prime target for bad actors looking to profit from them. Particularly Android has been subjected to an increasing barrage of malware assaults, including the infamous Android Banking Trojans. This study investigates the effectiveness of static analysis in locating Android banking malware in order to counter this threat. It does so by utilizing a wide range of features, including permissions, application programming interface (API) calls, opcodes, API packages, system commands, intents, strings, services, receivers, and activities. The study suggests using machine learning techniques to assess the detection of Android malware by utilizing various sets of classifiers in order to achieve this goal. The study also uses a feature selection approach to determine which features are most useful for telling malicious code apart from good code. 500 samples of malicious code and 500 samples of benign code make up the dataset that was used. The XGboost algorithm outperforms others in terms of accuracy, achieving an impressive accuracy value of 99.5% in malware detection after conducting a thorough comparison of various classifier sets. These results demonstrate the potential of static analysis and machine learning as useful tools in fending off the growing threats posed by Android malware. © 2023 IEEE.

The optoacoustic effect is triggered by directing an optical signal in the air (using laser) to the surface of water, leading to the generation of a corresponding acoustic signal inside the water. Careful modulation of the laser signal would enable an innovative method for direct communication in air-water cross-medium scenarios experienced in many civil and military applications. In order to achieve a high data rate, a multilevel amplitude modulation scheme can be used to generate different acoustic signals to transmit multiple symbols. However, accurately demodulating these acoustic signals can be challenging due to multipath propagation within the harsh underwater environment, inducing inter-symbol interferences. This paper proposes a deep learning-based demodulation technique that uses a U-Net for signal equalization and a Residual Neural Network for symbol detection. In addition, fine-tuning at the receiver side is also considered to increase the demodulation robustness. The proposed deep learning model has been trained with our laboratory constructed dataset containing eight levels of optoacoustic signals captured from three different underwater positions. The model is validated using two datasets containing severe interference due to multipath-generated echoes and reverberations. The results show that our demodulation model achieves 96.6% and 91.7% accuracy for the two datasets, respectively, which significantly surpasses the 72.9% and 65.30% accuracy achieved by the conventional peak detection-based technique. © 2015 IEEE.

Learner Assessment System in e-Learning with OBE Approach: Activity Performance, Ability Level and Recommendation

E-learning can lead learners to achieve learning outcomes if it is designed based on several principles. One is applying assessments that motivate and inform ability levels. In Outcome-based Education (OBE), assessment is integral to the system. However, e-learning has limitations in providing assessment instruments according to needs, such as assessing complex and detailed aspects and accommodating a variety of numerical and linguistic assessment data. Moreover, the presence and involvement of learners affect their performance and learning outcomes. This study proposes a learner assessment system in e-learning with the OBE approach, including learning design, activity performance analysis, ability level determination, and recommendations. This system adds the e-rubric to e-learning to overcome instrument limitations and accommodate comprehensive assessments. Various numerical and linguistic assessment data are unified using 2-tuple fuzzy linguistics, producing ability levels as two tuples. Performance analysis was based on event log data using descriptive statistical technique and alignment-based conformance checking, from frequency, time, and sequence of activity objects, resulting in five activity performance variables. The performance value of each variable is converted into High, Medium, or Low levels. The ability and performance levels are processed using rule-based methods to produce recommendations for learning stages and activity performance directions. The results of this research can be used as input for academic stakeholders and online learning providers and potentially be applied to the advancement of e-learning in higher education. © Authors retain all copyrights.

Time series have numerous applications in finance, healthcare, IoT, and smart city. In many of these applications, time series typically contain personal data, so privacy infringement may occur if they are released directly to the public. Recently, local differential privacy (LDP) has emerged as the state-of-the-art approach to protecting data privacy. However, existing works on LDP-based collections cannot preserve the shape of time series. A recent work, PatternLDP, attempts to address this problem, but it can only protect a finite group of elements in a time series due to ?-event level privacy guarantee. In this paper, we propose PrivShape, a trie-based mechanism under user-level LDP to protect all elements. PrivShape first transforms a time series to reduce its length, and then adopts trie-expansion and two-level refinement to improve utility. By extensive experiments on real-world datasets, we demonstrate that PrivShape outperforms PatternLDP when adapted for offline use, and can effectively extract frequent shapes. © 2024 IEEE.
