Fruits are absolutely delicious for the most part, but more importantly, they are good for healthy life. Fruits are nature's candy and offer all sorts of health benefits besides the great taste. They provide necessary nutrients to the body so that it will not be susceptible to disease or other ailments. Fruits contain enough fiber to keep our digestive system in top health form. Fruits also helps to regulate the water level in body as well as your blood sugar levels, which means that will usually feel hungry less often if we consumes a lot of fruits. The easier it is for people to recognize that a fruit is ripe and ready for selling at the market allows the farmers, in some cases, to sell their crop early before it would normally spoil. If we look closely, we see that many times people don't buy something because it appears rotten or way past its peak ripeness, which demonstrates how products spoil right on time. This study proposed a user-convenient system for fruit ripeness detection using the convolutional neural network (CNN) based on RipeNet structure. © 2025 IEEE.

Trends in Arctic summer cloud variability from 2000 to 2022 and the potential causes

Climate change in the Arctic serves as a pivotal indicator of alterations in the global climate system,with clouds playing an essential role in regulating the surface radiative energy balance in the *** the patterns of Arctic cloud variability and the underlying mechanisms is of paramount scientific importance for understanding Arctic climate *** analysis of Arctic cloud characteristics reveals that since the onset of the 21st century,low clouds have predominantly comprised the Arctic summer cloud fraction(approximately 60%),followed by middle clouds(approximately 30%).The total-cloud fraction has exhibited a marked increasing trend,especially in the Beaufort Sea and Chukchi Sea(0.45%/yr).An attribution analysis suggests that the changes in the Arctic cloud fraction are chiefly driven by trends in two atmospheric circulation modes:The Arctic Oscillation(AO)and the Arctic dipole anomaly(DA).During positive phases of the AO,the cloud fraction increases across all Arctic ***,in the positive phases of the DA,the cloud fraction decreases in the Beaufort Sea,Chukchi Sea,and Greenland Sea,whereas it increases in the East Siberian Sea,Kara Sea,and Barents Sea,indicating an“east-west”dipole *** 2000,the AO has been on an upward trend,whereas the DA has been *** combined effect of these two modes has resulted in a significant increase in the cloud fraction within the Beaufort Sea *** examination of cloud radiative effects indicates that an increase in the cloud fraction intensifies both longwave warming and shortwave cooling effects,leading to an overall net negative radiative *** the long-term trends in Arctic summer clouds enhances our comprehension of Arctic climate change.

Blockchain Based Secure Federated Learning With Local Differential Privacy and Incentivization

Interest in supporting Federated Learning (FL) using blockchains has grown significantly in recent years. However, restricting access to the trained models only to actively participating nodes remains a challenge even today. To address this concern, we propose a methodology that incentivizes model parameter sharing in an FL setup under Local Differential Privacy (LDP). The nodes that share less obfuscated data under LDP are awarded higher quantum of tokens, which they can later use to obtain session keys for accessing encrypted model parameters updated by the server. If one or more of the nodes do not contribute to the learning process by sharing their data, or share only highly perturbed data, they earn less number of tokens. As a result, such nodes may not be able to read the new global model parameters if required. Local parameter sharing and updating of global parameters are done using the distributed ledger of a permissioned blockchain, namely HyperLedger Fabric (HLF). Being a blockchain-based approach, the risk of a single point of failure is also mitigated. Appropriate chaincodes, which are smart contracts in the HLF framework, have been developed for implementing the proposed methodology. Results of an extensive set of experiments firmly establish the feasibility of our approach. © 2024 IEEE.

Topology-adaptive Bayesian optimization for deep ring echo state networks in speech emotion recognition

Speech emotion recognition is a difficult task that is gaining attention in a variety of domains, including psychology, human–computer interaction, and speech processing. To recognize speech emotions, machine learning techniques such as convolutional neural networks and long short-term memory networks have been successfully used. However, these models often fail to capture the long-term temporal dynamics of emotional speech. In this work, data augmentation was performed on all datasets. The generated result was used to extract the discriminant features. Then we apply a deep echo state network with a ring topology. The Bayesian optimization (BO) algorithm was applied to the spectral radius of the reservoir matrix. Our approach reveals term-weighted and unweighted accuracies of (75.45%, 74.79%), (86.89%, 86.14%), (98.99%, 97.62%), and (62%, 61.24%) on EMO-DB, SAVEE, RAVDESS, and TESS datasets. The findings demonstrate that by using BO, we are able to determine an optimal spectral radius. Therefore, this approach balances the minimal complexity of reservoir design and high emotion recognition accuracy. Notably, we demonstrate that a simple, deterministically constructed cycle reservoir within DRESN is comparable to other methodologies. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Road Side Units(RSUs)are the essential component of vehicular communication for the objective of improving safety and mobility in the road *** are generally deployed at the roadside and more specifically at the intersections in order to collect traffic information from the vehicles and disseminate alarms and messages in emergency situations to the neighborhood vehicles cooperating with the ***,the development of a predominant RSUs placement algorithm for ensuring competent communication in VANETs is a challenging issue due to the hindrance of obstacles like water bodies,trees and *** this paper,Ruppert’s Delaunay Triangulation Refinement Scheme(RDTRS)for optimal RSUs placement is proposed for accurately estimating the optimal number of RSUs that has the possibility of enhancing the area of coverage during data *** RDTRS is proposed by considering the maximum number of factors such as global coverage,intersection popularity,vehicle density and obstacles present in the map for optimal RSUs placement,which is considered as the core improvement over the existing RSUs optimal placement *** is contributed for deploying requisite RSUs with essential transmission range for maximal coverage in the convex map such that each position of the map could be effectively covered by at least one RSU in the presence of *** simulation experiments of the proposed RDTRS are conducted with complex road traffic *** results of this proposed RDTRS confirmed its predominance in reducing the end-to-end delay by 21.32%,packet loss by 9.38%with improved packet delivery rate of 10.68%,compared to the benchmarked schemes.

Enhancing handwritten text feature extraction through key point detection and graph representation

Handwriting typically consists of a wide range of writing forms with substantial differences in the placements and size of those writing shapes. The arrangement, organization, and spatial association of individual letters, words, and phrases on a written page are all examples of handwritten text structure. This study proposed a novel approach in which a handwritten text structure is primarily transformed into a Cartesian XY-coordinate system while maintaining its shape characteristics. The points on the contour of handwritten text with local maximum bending values are considered hypothetical breakdown points called Key Points (KPs). From the skeletal representation of handwriting, this approach first identifies KPs and their coordinate positions. After that, KPs are transformed into a graph-based representation with vertices and edges. With the use of geometric graphs, this representation attempts to capture the spatial and temporal organization of handwriting. Previous techniques focused on statistical methods, which offer fixed-size descriptions;however, graph-based representations are flexible in size and reveal the relationship between text structure. Graph representations enable the incorporation of contextual information by integrating extra features which improve text accuracy and understanding. The proposed approach is tested for writer identification and verification tasks on four benchmark datasets (CERUG-EN, CVL, Firemaker, and IAM) and one custom-built dataset. The findings demonstrated that the proposed approach obtained state-of-the-art accuracies across all the mentioned datasets. Particularly, it achieved the highest accuracy of 99.75% for identification and 99.81% for verification on the Firemaker dataset. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The conventional hospital environment is transformed into digital transformation that focuses on patient centric remote approach through advanced *** diagnosis of many diseases will improve the patient *** cost of health care systems is reduced due to the use of advanced technologies such as Internet of Things(IoT),Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN),Embedded systems,Deep learning approaches and Optimization and aggregation *** data generated through these technologies will demand the bandwidth,data rate,latency of the *** this proposed work,efficient discrete grey wolf optimization(DGWO)based data aggregation scheme using Elliptic curve Elgamal with Message Authentication code(ECEMAC)has been used to aggregate the parameters generated from the wearable sensor devices of the *** nodes that are far away from edge node will forward the data to its neighbor cluster head using *** scheme will reduce the number of transmissions over the *** aggregated data are preprocessed at edge node to remove the noise for better *** node will reduce the overhead of cloud *** aggregated data are forward to cloud server for central storage and *** proposed smart diagnosis will reduce the transmission cost through aggrega-tion scheme which will reduce the energy of the *** cost for proposed system for 300 nodes is 0.34μ*** energy cost of existing approaches such as secure privacy preserving data aggregation scheme(SPPDA),concealed data aggregation scheme for multiple application(CDAMA)and secure aggregation scheme(ASAS)are 1.3μJ,0.81μJ and 0.51μJ *** optimization approaches and encryption method will ensure the data privacy.

Software maintenance is the process of fixing,modifying,and improving software deliverables after they are delivered to the *** can benefit from offshore software maintenance outsourcing(OSMO)in different ways,including time savings,cost savings,and improving the software quality and *** of the hardest challenges for the OSMO vendor is to choose a suitable project among several clients’*** goal of the current study is to recommend a machine learning-based decision support system that OSMO vendors can utilize to forecast or assess the project of OSMO *** projects belong to OSMO vendors,having offices in developing countries while providing services to developed *** the current study,Extreme Learning Machine’s(ELM’s)variant called Deep Extreme Learning Machines(DELMs)is used.A novel dataset consisting of 195 projects data is proposed to train the model and to evaluate the overall efficiency of the proposed *** proposed DELM’s based model evaluations achieved 90.017%training accuracy having a value with 1.412×10^(-3) Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and 85.772%testing accuracy with 1.569×10^(-3) RMSE with five DELMs hidden *** results express that the suggested model has gained a notable recognition rate in comparison to any previous *** current study also concludes DELMs as the most applicable and useful technique for OSMO client’s project assessment.

There are many challenges facing organizations. A complex and dynamic environment requires constant change and improvement of activities and reconfiguration of processes carried out in organizations. Market requirements and customer expectations force companies to seek for and apply ever new techniques and solutions. The aim of this article is to present the concept of Throughput Accounting in a production system operating under small batch production conditions as a support for decision-making. This paper also compares the results of using three different costing systems in a resource-constrained manufacturing environment. Resilient Distributed Optimization for Multi-Agent Cyberphysical systems

This work focuses on the problem of distributed optimization in multi-agent cyberphysical systems, where a legitimate agent's iterates are influenced both by the values it receives from potentially malicious neighboring agents, and by its own self-serving target function. We develop a new algorithmic and analytical framework to achieve resilience for the class of problems where stochastic values of trust between agents exist and can be exploited. In this case, we show that convergence to the true global optimal point can be recovered, both in mean and almost surely, even in the presence of malicious agents. Furthermore, we provide expected convergence rate guarantees in the form of upper bounds on the expected squared distance to the optimal value. Finally, numerical results are presented that validate our analytical convergence guarantees even when the malicious agents compose the majority of agents in the network and where existing methods fail to converge to the optimal nominal points. © 1963-2012 IEEE.
