A multi-objective evolutionary algorithm (MOEA), called orthogonal multi-objective evolutionary algorithm (OMOEA), is proposed in this paper. The idea of OMOEA is that an original niche (decision space) evolves first, and splits into a group of subniches according to the output niche-population of the evolution;then every subniche iterates the above operations so as to enhance the precision of the solutions. The main component of the new technique is the niche evolution procedure which uses a generalized design method for MOPs to locate a non-dominated set like the orthogonal design and uses the statistical optimal method for SOPs to locate optimal solution. Employed orthogonal design method and statistical method, the OMOEA can converge fast and yield evenly distributed solutions with high precision. The numerical results show that above algorithm performs better than SPEA and other MOEAs for MOPs with two objectives. For an engineering MOP with five objectives and seven constraints, the new technique finds the precise Pareto-optimal solutions which is unknown before.

The widely use of extensible Markup Language (XML) raises the importance of security and access control for XML documents. Besides access control for XML document on node-level, it is also important to control users for accessing association between the nodes. Inference detection plays a central role in associationlevel access control. In this paper we propose a logicbased approach for inference detection in querying XML document. At first, Basic information is obtained from user query logs and "information-trees" are used to represent all the information a user gets. Then Logic-based method is used to find overlapping parts between "information-trees". Finally, inference detection is achieved by merging the "information-trees". This approach can be used to detect much common inference channels, and can serve as a basic model for future extension.

Web services are emerging as a dominant paradigm for constructing and composing distributed business applications and enabling enterprise-wide interoperability. A critical factor to the overall utility of web services composition is a flexible services discovery mechanism. The goal of this paper is to propose an agent-based approach to web services discovery. Firstly, an agent-based framework for web services composition is presented. Next, web services QoS model and description are introduced and an algorithm of selecting services from the perspective of composition is given. Finally, web services discovery agent is designed and its implementation based on JADE platform is presented in detail.

A Multimedia streams dynamic rate control algorithm based on Fuzzy adaptive PID (MFPID) has been proposed to implement multimedia streams' end sending rate on-line self-regulating and smoothing, and to track system resources in time, so that it can avoid system's regulating oscillation and guarantee system's stability. And, some work has been done to analyze adaptive session model of multimedia streams, to implement future available bandwidth estimation of IP network, to achieve PID parameters' on-line self-tuning by fuzzy controlling. As a new unsupervised learning technique, manifold learning has captured the attention of many researchers in the field of machine learning and cognitive sciences. The major algorithms include Isometric mapping (ISOMAP) and Locally Linear Embedding (LLE). The approaches can be used for discovering the intrinsic dimensions of nonlinear high-dimensional data effectively and aim researchers to analyze the data better. How to quantitatively analyze the relationship between the intrinsic dimensions and the observation space, however, has fewer reports. And thus further works in manifold learning may have suffered some difficulties. The paper focuses on two kinds of manifold learning algorithms (ISOMAP, LLE), and discusses magnification factors and principal spread directions from the observation space to the intrinsic low-dimensional space. Also the corresponding algorithm is proposed. Experiments show the effectiveness and advantages of the research.

Web application modeling and implementation method are related with middleware platform tightly, and its models usually can’t be reused on different platform. In order to reuse web application models, it is necessary to raise the level of abstraction of models, constructing middleware platform independent models. Roles are meant to capture observable behavioral aspects of objects. Role models describe the set of valid object collaboration tasks. This paper proposes a method for constructing platform independent models for Web applications. It consists of a stepwise process, a template role model and a mapping from role model to class model. Describing Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is critical in the development of Web based system, in this paper, an approach for describing SOA by extended Darwin is proposed. The requirements for describing SOA, which are different from that of ordinary architecture, are highlighted firstly, and then a solution for extending Darwin is presented. Using the extended Darwin, service components and connectors can be described explicit by the extended construct, as well as precise operational semantics of SOA by the π-calculus. Finally an example of supply-chain management system is given for manifesting the effect of the extended Darwin.
