Formaldehyde is an important carcinogen commonly found *** indoor sources have been intensively *** study on outdoor formaldehyde concentration,which is potentially an important source to indoors,remains *** study attempts to characterize temporal and spatial distribution of the atmospheric formalde-hyde concentration in Chinese *** variation of ambient formaldehyde was examined in 6 cities and peak hours were identified between 12:00 pm and 3:00 ***,outdoor formaldehyde concentrations were measured in the peak hours in 30 cities during the summer months of Jul.-Aug.,*** formaldehyde concentrations in the peak hours fell into a range of 0.005-0.087 mg/m^(3)(median value is 0.027 mg/m^(3)),87.7%of which have exceeded the chronic reference exposure criteria of 0.009 mg/m^(3) set by Office of Environmental Health Hazard *** risk analysis suggests that exposure to ambient formaldehyde could cause a median carcinogenic risk of 1.9×10^(−5)(3.17×10^(−6)-6.13×10^(−5)),higher than threshold limit of 10−*** correlation analysis of the 30 cities shows that ambient summertime atmospheric formaldehyde concentrations of the city are positively correlated with its Gross Domestic Product(r=0.48).We also found that the outdoor formaldehyde concentrations in urban areas(median:0.017 mg/m^(3))is slightly higher than those in suburban areas(median:0.013 mg/m^(3)).Results here prove that outdoor formaldehyde is ubiquitous in Chinese cities and reduces effectiveness of ventilation in dilution indoor *** it would underestimate air cleaner capacity needed by a factor of about *** should be accounted for in health analysis and air quality engineering control design of built environment in the future.

AggFollower: Aggressiveness Informed Car-Following Modeling

Car-following is the most common driving scenario where a following vehicle follows a lead vehicle in the same lane. One crucial factor of car-following behavior is driving style which affects speed and gap selection, acceleration pattern, and fuel consumption. However, existing car-following research used limited categories of driving style through pre-defined patterns and failed to encode driving style into data-driven car-following models. To address these limitations, we propose the Aggressiveness Informed Car-Following (AICF) modeling approach, which embeds driving style as a dynamic input feature in data-driven car-following models. In detail, We design driving aggressiveness tokens using four physical quantities (jerk, acceleration, relative speed, and relative spacing) to capture the heterogeneity of driving aggressiveness. These tokens were then embedded into a physics-informed Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) based car-following model for trajectory prediction. To evaluate the effectiveness of our approach, we conducted extensive experiments based on 12,540 car-following events extracted from the HighD dataset and 24,093 events from the Lyft dataset. Compared to models devoid of considerations for driving aggressiveness levels, AICF exhibits superior efficacy in mitigating the Mean Square Error (MSE) of spacing and collision rate. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work to directly incorporate real-time driving aggressiveness tokens as input features into data-driven car-following models, enabling a more comprehensive understanding of aggressiveness in car-following behavior. Versatile Tasks on Integrated Aerial Platforms Using Only Onboard Sensors: Control, Estimation, and Validation

Connecting multiple aerial vehicles to a rigid central platform through passive spherical joints holds the potential to construct a fully-actuated aerial platform. The integration of multiple vehicles enhances efficiency in tasks like mapping and object reconnaissance. This paper proposes a control and state estimation framework for the Integrated Aerial Platform (IAP), enabling it to perform versatile tasks like object reconnaissance and physical interactive tasks with only onboard sensors. In the framework, the 6D motion control serves as the low-level controller, while the high-level controller comprises a 6D admittance filter and a perception-aware attitude correction module. The 6D admittance filter, serving as the interaction controller, is adaptable for aerial interaction tasks. The perception-aware attitude correction algorithm is carefully designed by adopting a geometric Model Predictive Controller (MPC). This algorithm, incorporating both offline and online calculations, proves to be well-suited for the intricate dynamics of an IAP. A 6D direct wrench controller is also developed for the IAP. Notably, both the interaction controller and the direct wrench controller operate without reliance on force/torque sensors. Instead, a wrench observer algorithm is devised, considering external disturbances. Additionally, based on the kinematics constraints of the multiple aerials in the platform, a fusion algorithm for multiple Visual-Inertial Odometry (VIO) and kinematics constraints is developed, providing more accurate localization. A prototype of the IAP is constructed, and its capabilities are demonstrated through experiments including perception-aware object reconnaissance, aerial mapping, aerial peg-in-hole task, and 6D contact wrench generation. All experiments are conducted exclusively with onboard sensors. These tasks exemplify the merits of the proposed IAP and validate the effectiveness of the proposed control framework and fusion algorithm. © 2004-2012
