Sparse Actuator and Sensor Attacks Reconstruction for Linear Cyber-Physical systems with Sliding Mode Observer

Driven by the rapid development of modern industrial processes, cyber-physical systems (CPSs), which tightly conjoin computational and physical resources, have become ever-more prevalent during recent years. However, due to the intrinsical vulnerability of the cyber layer, the system performances of CPSs are easily degraded by malicious false data injection (FDI) attacks, which are launched by adversary. In this article, the issue of secure reconstruction is considered for linear CPSs with simultaneous sparse actuator and sensor attacks. First, an adaptive counteraction searching strategy is proposed to identify the potential combinational attack mode. In this way, malicious FDI attacks are excluded. Second, by constructing a descriptor switched sliding mode observer, the sparse FDI attacks and the system state are reconstructed effectively. Meanwhile, sufficient conditions of the error convergence can be derived. Finally, a numerical simulation is utilized to illustrate the applicability of the proposed theoretical derivation. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

The CaFe2-xInxO4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) pigment with red shade was successfully synthesized through solid state reactions. The crystal structure, color development mechanism, morphology and its application in the glaze were studied. XPS analysis confirmed Fe resides in +3 oxidation state. Combined with UV–Vis–NIR analysis, it is determined that the formation of red shade of the pigment is due to the 6A1(S) → 4T2(D), 6A1(S) → 4A1, 4E(G) and 6A1(S) → 4T2(G) transitions of Fe3+ in the visible light region. The pigment was applied to the lead-free low temperature glaze to evaluate its potential in preparing new glaze color. The as-synthesized glaze showed orange-red shade. With increased In3+ doping concentration, the glaze demonstrates a stronger red tone. The glaze also shows high NIR solar reflectance. Inferred from SEM-EDS, the pigment particles are evenly scattered in the glaze. Therefore, CaFe2-xInxO4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) red pigment is a qualified candidate for red shade glaze preparation. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

Ensuring scalability in cryptocurrency systems is significant in guaranteeing real-world utility along with the remarkable increment of cryptographic currency. As an alternative in solving scalability issue, payment channel allows users to deliver extensive offline transactions without uploading massive transaction details to the blockchain, such that increasing efficiency can be achieved. However, the implementation of payment channel still encounters privacy concerns when considering the publicly available transaction amounts and the potentials in mining associations between transaction parties. In this paper, we propose a novel payment channel scheme, entitled Commitment-based Anonymous Payment ChannEl (CAPE), to facilitate unlimited off-chain bidirectional payments while guaranteeing participants’ privacy. The proposed scheme adopts zero-knowledge proof (zk-SNARKs) and verifiable timed (VTD) commitments to ensure the anonymity of the relationship between on-chain and off-chain transactions, privacy of transaction amounts, and security of balances. We comprehensively formalize security definitions and present rigorous proofs for each security attribute. Experiment results further demonstrate the practical viability of CAPE. © 2025 IEEE. To reduce latency and improve the user experience, content caching solutions at the network periphery will become increasingly important as 5G networks and data-intensive applications. In this proposed work, the deployment of a caching architecture for 5G periphery networks using machine learning is done. Utilizing information on user behavior, network conditions, and content prominence enables more accurate forecasts and cache management decisions. This trains the prediction models using a wide range of machine-learning techniques to accommodate the ever-changing needs of both networks and content. To evaluate the efficiency of the proposed architecture by measuring its ability to increase cache hit rates and decrease latency. These techniques significantly outperform the standard caching methods. With the intelligent caching architecture of 5G periphery networks, throughput is increased, latency is reduced, and congestion is alleviated. The findings of this study contribute to the growing corpus of literature on AI-driven optimization in 5G networks and shed light on how such solutions could be enhanced for future networks. Neural Networks achieved 96% accuracy than SVM which is 93%. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, we identify the opportunity of using programmable switches to improve the state of the art in spoofed IP traffic filtering, and propose NetHCF, a line-rate in-network system to filter spoofed traffic. One key challenge in the design of NetHCF is to handle the restrictions stemmed from the limited computational model and memory resources of programmable switches. We address this by decomposing the HCF scheme into two complementary parts, by aggregating the IP-to-Hop-Count (IP2HC) mapping table for efficient memory usage, and by designing adaptive mechanisms to handle routing changes, IP popularity changes, and network activity dynamics. We implement an open-source prototype of NetHCF, and conduct extensive evaluations. The evaluation results demonstrate that NetHCF is able to process most legitimate traffic in 1 $\mu$μs, filter spoofed IP traffic effectively under network dynamics, with less than 30% of switch resource occupation. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

In multi-label classification, machine learning encounters the challenge of domain generalization when handling tasks with distributions differing from the training data. Existing approaches primarily focus on vision object recognition and neglect the integration of natural language. Recent advancements in vision-language pre-training leverages supervision from extensive visual-language pairs. This allows learning across diverse domains and enhances recognition in multi-modal scenarios, showcasing superior transfer learning capabilities in methods like CLIPood. However, CLIPood has several limitations: differences in the utilized loss, loss of generality in evaluating only a single backbone, and neglect of class-aware visual *** address these, we propose this paper that infers the actual loss based on the implementation, broadens evaluations to larger vision-language backbones, and introduces Mixup-CLIPood with a novel mix-up loss for enhanced class-aware visual fusion. © 2024 IEEE.

We investigate the equilibrium stability and robustness in a class of moving target defense problems, in which players have both incomplete information and asymmetric cognition. We first establish a Bayesian Stackelberg game model for incomplete information and then employ a hypergame reformulation to address asymmetric cognition. With the core concept of the hyper Bayesian Nash equilibrium (HBNE), a condition for achieving both the strategic and cognitive stability in equilibria can be realized by solving linear equations. Moreover, to deal with players' underlying perturbed knowledge, we study the equilibrium robustness by presenting a condition of robust HBNE under the given configuration. Experiments evaluate our theoretical results. © 2024 IEEE.
