This paper presents StreamTag, a platform designed for the efficient management of labeled data in healthcare environments, particularly for activity recognition systems in residential and nursing home settings. Human Activity Recognition (HAR) is crucial for monitoring patient behaviors and supporting personalized care, and this field has evolved significantly with advances in IoT and AI. StreamTag integrates a flexible data labeling structure and a modular architecture, enabling data collection, labeling, and secure management of activity data. The system leverages non-relational databases for scalable data handling, along with secure protocols to ensure data integrity and privacy. This work examines existing approaches in HAR, including data-driven, knowledge-based, and hybrid models, and situates StreamTag as a versatile solution that combines flexible user-controlled labeling with high adaptability for diverse healthcare contexts. In NFC applications, user privacy information must be protected first. Cao and Liu recently proposed a lightweight NFC authentication scheme based on an improved hash function to ensure that the user's private information will not be leaked. Although their method is highly efficient and has Mutual Authentication, Forward Security, Backward Security, and security against attacks such as Replay, Location, and Fake, once out of synchronization occurs, the method must reestablish synchronization data. Therefore, this article will propose a lightweight synchronization method. © 2023 IEEE.

As the use of big data in cloud computing continues to increase at an exponential rate, privacy concerns have emerged as a major concern. Every person and business should make data protection a top priority. Security risks may arise during transmission from client to cloud server. Cloud computing technology makes it possible for mobile clients to access the large data stores. With the use of a unified parallel and distributed encryption and decryption system, mobile clients and cloud computing may be made more secure. The security of older systems, such as those that rely on plaintext on the cloud, is questionable at best. Dynamic Data Encryption Strategy (DDES) is the suggested approach that aims to improve the effectiveness of privacy safeguards. The Dynamic Encryption Determination (DED) method was designed to dynamically alternate data packages for encryptions under varying time restrictions, and it was the primary algorithm underpinning the DDES paradigm. Our suggested solution utilizes privacy categorization techniques to selectively encrypt data while working within time limitations. Utilizing a selective encryption strategy while still meeting the necessary execution time constraints, this method aims to increase the privacy protection scope. Our experimental results assess DDES's performance and demonstrate the privacy boost. © 2023 IEEE.

Navigating the complex legal and regulatory landscape requires a sophisticated platform that is not only comprehensive but also user-friendly and enables seamless analysis and document comparison in the legal realm. To address this challenging requirement, this research is dedicated to the user experience (UX) design of state-of the-art cloud-native mobile applications specifically designed for legal and regulatory harmonization. The methodology used is based on design thinking principles and takes advantage of the benefits of cloud computing. These include, but are not limited to, scalability, reliability, and security. The result is a solution that is not only powerful but also cost-effective. The core of this application follows a user-centered design philosophy and involves potential users closely in the design process. A comprehensive evaluation is performed using the System Usability Scale (SUS) methodology to measure the effectiveness and usability of the application. The results of this comprehensive approach are convincing. The application has an impressive 95.5% usage rate, indicating strong user engagement. Furthermore, user satisfaction ratings are particularly high and transformative impact of this application in a complex environment of legal harmonization. Through its innovative design, seamless functionality, and user-centric approach, this application has proven to be not only a technical solution, but also a catalyst for positive change in the legal and regulatory harmonization process. © 2023 IEEE.

A semi-analytical finite element method(SAFEM),based on the two-scale asymptotic homogenization method(AHM)and the finite element method(FEM),is implemented to obtain the effective properties of two-phase fiber-reinforced composites(FRCs).The fibers are periodically distributed and unidirectionally aligned in a homogeneous *** framework addresses the static linear elastic micropolar problem through partial differential equations,subject to boundary conditions and perfect interface contact *** mathematical formulation of the local problems and the effective coefficients are presented by the *** local problems obtained from the AHM are solved by the FEM,which is denoted as the *** numerical results are provided,and the accuracy of the solutions is analyzed,indicating that the formulas and results obtained with the SAFEM may serve as the reference points for validating the outcomes of experimental and numerical computations.

Air-side economizers are increasingly used to take advantage of“free-cooling”in data centers with the intent of reducing the carbon footprint of ***,they can introduce outdoor pollutants to indoor environment of data centers and cause corrosion damage to the information technology *** evaluate the reliability of information technology equipment under various thermal and air-pollution conditions,a mechanistic model based on multi-ion transport and chemical reactions was *** model was used to predict Cu corrosion caused by Cl_(2)-containing pollutant *** also accounted for the effects of temperature(25℃and 28℃),relative humidity(50%,75%,and 95%),and *** also identified higher air temperature as a corrosion barrier and higher relative humidity as a corrosion accelerator,which agreed well with the experimental *** average root mean square error of the prediction was 13.7Å.The model can be used to evaluate the thermal guideline for data centers design and operation when Cl_(2)is present based on pre-established acceptable risk of corrosion in data centers’environment.

Circular dichroism(CD)spectroscopy has been widely demonstrated for detecting chiral ***,the determination of chiral mixtures with various concentrations and enantiomeric ratios can be a challenging *** solve this problem,we report an enhanced vibrational circular dichroism(VCD)sensing platform based on plasmonic chiral metamaterials,which presents a 6-magnitude signal enhancement with a selectivity of chiral *** by coupled-mode theory,we leverage both in-plane and out-of-plane symmetry-breaking structures for chiral metamaterial design enabled by a two-step lithography process,which increases the near-field coupling strengths and varies the ratio between absorption and radiation loss,resulting in improved chiral light-matter interaction and enhanced molecular VCD ***,we demonstrate the thin-film sensing process of BSA andβ-lactoglobulin proteins,which contain secondary structures a-helix andβ-sheet and achieve a limit of detection down to zeptomole ***,we also,for the first time,explore the potential of enhanced VCD spectroscopy by demonstrating a selective sensing process of chiral mixtures,where the mixing ratio can be successfully differentiated with our proposed chiral *** findings improve the sensing signal of molecules and expand the extractable information,paving the way toward label-free,compact,small-volume chiral molecule detection for stereochemical and clinical diagnosisapplications.

Innovative safety in the workplace is vital as the high safety risks associated with electrical engineering construction can lead to injuries or even fatalities. Using computer vision technology, we experimented with scenarios such as 'normal operations' and 'unexpected incidents' to enhance safety measures. We integrated an Internet of Things system into the setup, enabling the system to quickly detect and alert to unexpected events in real-time, thereby improving workplace safety. © 2024 IEEE.

Hydroponics alludes to the art of developing plants in water without any soil and is very well known because of its ability to create a nutrient-rich yield of crops with the least amount of resources. It guarantees an amazing chance to develop a variety of crops all through the year without the constraints forced by the environment. But the limitation of cultivating hydroponics in a greenhouse environment is to keep up with the environmental parameters like temperature, humidity, etc. at a specific level. Also, manual monitoring of crops is an extremely trifling errand that is currently in practice. The paper focuses on developing a hydroponic framework that is completely automated and built on the Internet of Things (IoT) technology using ESP32 microcontroller and sensors that would provide a flexible environment for the growth of crops. The proposed system can be utilized for quantitatively optimizing greenhouse farming and for automating most of the labor-intensive tasks. © 2022 IEEE.

This research focuses on enhancing the performance of data transmission in the Internet of Things (IoT) by leveraging LoRa technology. Specifically, it utilizes the LILYGO 923 MHz LoRa32 board, which integrates the ESP32 microcontroller with a LoRa module and additional devices like a 0.96-inch OLED display. This board also features a serial converter interface, simplifying the programming process, and uses a micro USB connection for both power and uploading code. One of the goals of this research is to enable the transmission of images using LoRa, though currently, only image conversion during transmission is implemented. The study includes reliability testing of the LoRa module over a distance of 10 km. The results show that the Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) for Spreading Factor (SF) 7 is 50%, while for SF 12, it improves to 85%. Additionally, the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) measurements at a distance of 1000 meters with 3 Non-Line-of-Sight (NLoS) conditions yielded values of -120 dBm, -90 dBm, and -78 dBm. These results highlight the potential of LoRa technology in improving IoT data transmission, especially for long-range applications. © 2024 IEEE.
