Fantasy Sports has a current market size of ${\$}$27B and is expected to grow more than ${\$}$84B in less than a decade. The intent is to create virtual teams that somehow reflect what would happen if the constituent players actually played in a team. Using individual player and team statistics, models can be trained to predict an outcome. But fans are left wanting more. To achieve a more realistic outcome, aspects of what makes live teams win need to be included: (1) transforming player statistics to reflect their relative importance with respect to a player position;(2) team chemistry (TC). In this work, we show a novel characterization of relative position statistics and a new description of TC. Drawn from the NBA's API, we form a data set to determine whether a fantasy team makes the playoffs using almost two dozen features, including TC. Various Machine Learning models are trained on this data and the best-performing model is offered to the users through a web service. Users can not only inspect fantasy teams and their TC but can also simulate their match-ups with existing 2023 NBA teams and utilize performance visualizations to help improve their team creation process. Analysis of crop quality from image data is a multi-domain task, which includes effective image capture, pre-processing, fusion, segmentation, feature extraction, selection of optimum features, classification and post-processing. In order to perform these tasks with utmost efficiency, several architectures have been proposed by researchers and satellite image processing system designers. These architectures vary widely in terms of performance parameters like accuracy, response time, applicability to different types of imagery, image data requirement, etc. For instance, architectures that are well suited for cotton crop analysis do not give good accuracy for other crop types, while generalized architectures that have high accuracy, underperform when applied to specialized crop types. Moreover, selection of algorithms at micro-level is also difficult due to a large variety of architectures available for each of the internal tasks. In order to reduce this ambiguity, the underlying text analyzes various state-of-the-art recent models and architectures that are proposed for high efficiency crop analysis using satellite image processing. The analysis is supported by statistical comparison and recommendations for these architectures w.r.t. their field of application, and desired system performance capabilities. This text also recommends optimizations to the reviewed architectures in order to further improve their parametric performance and large scale deploy-ability. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

A cataract is one of the most significant eye problems worldwide that does not immediately impair vision and progressively worsens over *** cataract prediction based on various imaging technologies has been addressed recently,such as smartphone apps used for remote health monitoring and eye *** recent years,advances in diagnosis,prediction,and clinical decision support using Artificial Intelligence(AI)in medicine and ophthalmology have been *** to privacy concerns,a lack of data makes applying artificial intelligence models in the medical field *** address this issue,a federated learning framework named CDFL based on a VGG16 deep neural network model is proposed in this *** study collects data from the Ocular Disease Intelligent Recognition(ODIR)database containing 5,000 patient *** significant features are extracted and normalized using the min-max normalization *** the federated learning-based technique,the VGG16 model is trained on the dataset individually after receiving model updates from two *** transferring the attributes to the global model,the suggested method trains the local *** global model subsequently improves the technique after integrating the new *** client analyses the results in three rounds to decrease the over-fitting *** experimental result shows the effectiveness of the federated learning-based technique on a Deep Neural Network(DNN),reaching a 95.28%accuracy while also providing privacy to the patient’s *** experiment demonstrated that the suggested federated learning model outperforms other traditional methods,achieving client 1 accuracy of 95.0%and client 2 accuracy of 96.0%.

Linear discriminant analysis (LDA) is a well-known feature-extraction technique for data analytic and pattern classification. As the dimensionality of multimedia data has increased in this big era, it is often to characterize data by tensors. Over the past two decades, researchers have thus explored to extend LDA to the general tensor space, especially in two common ways: LDA of tensors using tensor decomposition methods (by conversion of tensors to matrices) and LDA of tensors built upon the T-product. However, both of the aforementioned approaches have restrictions thereby. A critical problem about how to carry out LDA of arbitrary scatter tensors based on the Einstein product still remains unsolved by the existing methods. Therefore, we propose a novel tensor LDA (a.k.a. TLDA) approach, which can carry out the LDA of arbitrary-dimensional scatter-tensors without any need of tensor decomposition. Besides, for reducing the computation time, we also design a parallel paradigm to execute our proposed TLDA in this work. Numerical experiments conducted over real multimedia data demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed new TLDA in terms of classification accuracy. Moreover, the comparison of the classification accuracies, computational-complexities, and memory-complexities of our proposed novel TLDA scheme and other existing tensor-based LDA methods is made. By leveraging TLDA for high-dimensional feature extraction, segmentation, and user-item interaction data processing, future multimedia recommendation systems can facilitate more accurate, engaging, and satisfactory user experience over the Internet. © 1963-12012 IEEE.

A strategy that combines experiment and simulation to design and optimize electromagnetic (EM) metamaterial absorbers containing a periodic porous structure is described. The approach provides the ability to produce absorbers that meet multiple user-specified objectives. Using the measured intrinsic properties of the baseline materials as an input to EM-field based computational modelling and optimization, absorption by the studied metamaterials measured by their reflection loss (RL) increases significantly. The resulting metamaterials have the potential for lower cost and lighter weight while providing greater protection than traditional metal gaskets and foams. © 2023 IEEE.

Stress detection is a growing topic in the field of natural language processing. The study of stress detection for mental health prediction has been proven to benefit the development of recommender systems and automated mental health assessments in previous studies. Additionally, the widespread usage of social media has served as a potential data source for developing such models. Our research tried to detect whether the users of social media were under stress or not. We used a dataset from Dreaddit consisting of posts from one of the popular social media platforms, Reddit. We propose a machine learning model consisting of Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naïve Bayes, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Bag of Words, and Term Frequency - inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) for stress detection. The final evaluation of the model achieved an 80.00% F-1 Score and 75.00% accuracy, and both were scored by SVM. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

Human activity assertion in video is perhaps the most overall applied subjects in the field of picture and video arranging, with different applications in perception (security, sports, and so on), movement ID, video-content-based seeing, man-machine correspondence, and flourishing/handicap care. Homes and public locations such as hospitals, shopping malls, railway stations, airports, and so on all have surveillance cameras placed to safeguard the public's well-being and the safety of their personal items. About seven out of ten of the homicides that have been investigated and solved by professionals over the last several decades have benefited from the use of surveillance film in this capacity. In several instances of criminal investigation, the person of interest was located by comparing their picture to others of the same species that were taken by various cameras in various locations. Person Re-IDentification is the process of discovering matches for a person or suspect across several cameras. This method is also known as Person Matching. The Person Re-Identification system, or PID, is a tool that helps keep track of human entries that are captured on video by a variety of cameras in a variety of settings. As a reaction to an image of the person obtained by a camera, the PRID system retrieves relevant pictures of the same person collected by multiple cameras in various places and at various times. This is done as a result of the input image of the person (called a probe image). By comparing images of the same person captured by different cameras, it is able to carry out the process of automating the search for a person or target that has been followed but been lost in a different camera view.. The paper proposes a novel machine learning approach for early prediction of risk of a patient suffering from severe kidney-related diseases (KD). The training phase consists of two steps. First, the records of the already existing patients with KD are divided into groups based on the similarity of the sequences of their clinical activities, including diagnoses, lab tests and medications. Next, a Markov chain model is employed to mathematically represent the clinical activity-sequences of patients in each group. The prediction phase also consists of two steps. First, the support of each group to the clinical-activities of the unknown patient P is evaluated. P is then assigned with the group with the highest support. Next, the Markov chain model of the winning group is used to predict the possible finite sequence of the clinical activities of P in future. Comparative study shows better performance of the proposed algorithm over other state-of-the-art algorithms.

Understanding the variations in soil fertility and crop growth across time and geography is crucial for understanding the agricultural environment. Satellite and unmanned aerial remote sensing are the two main types of remote sensing methods used in agroecosystem monitoring. Through the collection of remote sensing photos, it is able to monitor as well as control agro-ecosystem environment in real-time. Spatial choice constraints are lessened by high-decision satellites, and satellite imagery processing is improved by use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning methods, which enables computerised crop identification, disease diagnosis, and yield calculation. This research proposes novel technique in satellite image–based sustainable agriculture analysis with ecosystem monitoring using machine learning techniques. Here, the input is collected as satellite image and processed for noise removal and normalisation. Then, this image feature has been selected for analysis of crop growth using Gaussian belief kernel component analysis and classified using recursive Bayes probabilistic vector neural networks. Experimental analysis has been carried out in terms of training accuracy, precision, sensitivity, F-1 score, and AUC for various satellite image dataset. Proposed technique attained precision of 94%, sensitivity of 96%, AUC of 93%, training accuracy of 97%, and F1-score of 95%. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Water resources are inevitable for human survival but untreated wastewater harms the environment. Thus, ongoing monitoring of water quality is necessary to identify pollution sources and prevent further damage. For such monitoring, an IoT water quality monitoring system was developed using Arduino technology to collect and transmit data to MQTT Brokers and store it in a database. The data is presented on a monitoring webpage. Three machine learning methods (Random Forest, ANN, and LightGBM) were used for backend analysis and prediction. LightGBM was found to have the highest prediction accuracy for NH3, pH, ORP, and temperature. The research contributes to reducing the need for frequent and costly data collection by using an IoT system for real-time monitoring and employing machine learning predictions to compensate for missing data. This approach provides a more efficient and effective method for analyzing and predicting water quality. © 2023 IEEE.
