In many WSN applications, such as environmental monitoring and surveillance, the drain node may be a mobile vehicle or a moving robot that moves around the network to collect data from the sensors. In this context, Drain Announcements Based Routing (DABR) and Mobile-drain Routing (MDR) are two efficient routing protocols that can address the challenges of routing in such networks. Both DABR and MDR have been evaluated in various scenarios and have shown promising results in terms of energy efficiency and packet delivery ratio. These protocols can be further optimized for specific WSN applications and network configurations. In conclusion, efficient routing in WSNs with static and moving drains is an active area of research, and protocols such as DABR and MDR can significantly improve the performance of such networks. This section presents the performance evaluation of the proposed DABR and MRLG protocols using the IEEE 802.15.4 technology under different conditions. © 2023 IEEE.

The transmission of numerous optical wavelengths across a single cable is made possible by a method known as dense wavelength division multiplexing, or DWDM for short (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing). Because of recent technical developments in the use of lasers, it is now feasible to achieve bandwidth increases for already-established fiber-optic backbones. It makes it possible for signals of a range of wavelengths to be sent simultaneously using fiber optic networks. A DWDM system cannot function without the Mux and the Deux, which are two components that are necessary for its functioning. Using combinational logics such as multiplexers and decoders, the data that will be discussed in this article will be sent and received in a sequential form (de-mux). For the sake of the implementation, both the multiplexer and the decoder will each be given their own separate Verilog files to be written in. To set up a communication system that uses serial signals, an extra Verilog file will need to be created. This file's purpose is to hide the fact that the multiplexer also functions as a transmitter and that the decoder also functions as a receiver. The counter is wired up to the circuit so that it may be manipulated by the user to achieve the desired state of synchronization. With the help of this hybrid design approach, design complexity can be better managed, parallel development can be carried out, and reliable communication can be fostered. Every area of human life is being impacted by climate change more and more. According to recent studies, there is a strong association between temperature and human health. It is predicted that by 2100, fluctuations in temperature will cause 73 deaths for every 100,000 people worldwide. Algorithms for machine learning (ML) have made significant progress, leading to innovations in other fields of study and, most recently, being proposed as a tool to support climate analysis. In order to mitigate these risks, a proximity environmental feature-based tree health assessment (PTA) methodology is suggested, which offers recommendations for early warning systems for possible poor tree health. Tree health is determined and assessed in PTA development using proximity environmental characteristics (PEFs). This research proposes novel technique in climate change-based health data analysis using satellite data analysis for biodiverse ecosystem in sustainable modelling. Here, the input is collected as regional climate change data and analysed for feature selection with extraction. This data has selection carried out using kernel adversarial Gaussian linear regression model;the selected features show the abnormality in health issues. Then, the selected features have been extracted using convolutional U-net extreme attention neural network. The extracted features show healthcare data analysis based on climate changes. The simulation analysis is carried out for various climate change-based healthcare analysis dataset in terms of detection accuracy, normalised error, precision, F-measure, and recall. The suggested method produced 96% detection accuracy, 56% normalised error, 90% precision, 95% recall, and 92% F-measure. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Researchers emphasize the importance of hardware accelerators for mathematical morphology. If there are any issues, the hardware architecture may need to be redesigned. Thus, we propose a novel, reconfigurable hardware architecture with pipeline techniques for acceleration. With the order control register, there is no need to modify the architecture even if different results are expected. Furthermore, the hardware architecture caters to specific purposes instead of requiring a purpose-built hardware design. © 2023 IEEE.

This work presents a two-element multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna for IoT applications. A single antenna element is designed with wideband characteristics covering 4.2 to 7.5 GHz and is arranged in a perpendicular configuration to realize MIMO structure. The proposed design configuration exhibits good isolation without using decoupler with 47% fractional bandwidth and gain up to 5.1 dB. The presented structure has acceptable values for Envelope Correlation Coefficient (ECC), Diversity Gain (DG) and good isolation less than-26 dB. Being a low-cost solution, proposed design is suitable candidate for IoT application operating in 4-7.8 GHz, in particular, for 5-6 GHz, 4.70-6.19 GHz and 5.5-5.7 GHz operating bands. © 2022 IEEE.

Currently, the performance of the police in Indonesia is often in the spotlight of the public with cases that occur, both on a national and regional scale, including personal experiences who also feel disappointed with the performance of the police. The cases, such as the rape of three children by a biological father in East Luwu, and the barrage of other cases that have occurred, in their handling have left the public disappointed, giving rise to the hashtag percumlaporpolisi on social media, especially on twitter. This hashtag became trending and was widely responded to by the public. Using free hashtag keywords, tweet data is collected using Twitter's API for sentiment analysis. The datasets obtained from the crawling results is the latest data with a total of 100 datasets. This study applies the naïve bayes algorithm using textblob which aims to determine the value of polarity and subjectivity. From the results of the analysis carried out, the words that appear most often are useless police, police chief, and policeman. While the results of the sentiment analysis that has been carried out are 40 percent positive sentiment, 40 percent are neutral sentiment and 10 percent are negative sentiment from the hashtags used. From these results, according to the keywords used, the percentage of negative sentiment should be greater than positive and neutral sentiment. It is necessary to conduct a more in-depth study related to the model used in the next research. © 2023 IEEE.

High-precision cylindrical parts are critical components across various industries including aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing. Since these parts play a pivotal role in the performance and safety of the systems they are integrated into, they are often subject to stringent quality control measures. Defects on the interior and exterior wall surfaces of these cylindrical parts can severely undermine their function, leading to degraded performance, increased wear, and even catastrophic failures in extreme cases. This article aims to comprehensively summarize the task definition, challenges, mainstream methods, public datasets, evaluation metrics, and other aspects of surface defect detection for high-precision cylindrical parts, in order to help researchers quickly grasp this field. Specifically, the background and characteristics of industrial defect detection are first introduced. Owing to the unique geometric features of cylindrical part surfaces, algorithms and equipment for image data acquisition used in surface defect detection are elaborated in detail. This article presents an extensive overview of state-of-the-art surface defect detection techniques designed for high-precision cylindrical components, all rooted in deep learning. The methods are systematically classified into three main categories: fully supervised, unsupervised, and alternative approaches, based on their data labeling strategies. Additionally, the paper conducts a comprehensive analysis within each category, shedding light on their unique strengths, limitations, and practical use cases. Concluding the discussion, the paper provides insights into future development trends and potential research directions in this field that will lead to manufacturing innovation. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

The Smart Power Grid (SPG) is pivotal in orchestrating and managing demand response in contemporary smart cities, leveraging the prowess of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). Within the immersive SPG environment, the ubiquitous deployment of smart meters stands as a testament to their paramount importance in the realm of vigilant monitoring and oversight. These smart meters are installed on high-tension electricity lines and transmit information about electricity outages and other issues to the utility center. To access services from utility centers, smart meters need to communicate securely over a public channel, even though the network itself is insecure. However, potential attacks from adversaries ( Ad) can exploit this communication. Therefore, protecting this communication is of utmost importance. Several privacy-preserving authentication protocols designed for SPG have been introduced in the literature. Nevertheless, a significant number of these protocols exhibit vulnerabilities to diverse security attacks. This article introduces a lightweight and anonymous authentication protocol specifically designed to address these concerns in the SPG environment. Our protocol ensures both security and efficiency, surpassing other comparable protocols in terms of its lightweight nature. By employing both formal and informal analysis, we showcase the robustness of our protocol against significant attacks while remaining lightweight. The proposed protocol provides added security features and incurs 23.8879% lower computation cost than related protocols. Consequently, our protocol is highly suitable for implementation in the SPG system. © 2020 IEEE.

Multistep ahead time series forecasting is essential in Internet of Things (IoT) applications in smart cities and smart homes to make accurate future predictions and precise decision making. Thus, this study introduces a novel multiple-input single-output (MISO) forecasting method called Multistep Embedding-based fuzzy time series (MS-EFTS), designed to predict high-dimensional nonstationary time series data. As a first-order approach, it employs a direct strategy that integrates an embedding transformation with a weighted multivariate FTS (WMVFTS) model. This combination allows for effective predictions over long-term horizons within low-dimensional, learned continuous representations. The effectiveness of the proposed MS-EFTS is assessed using three high-dimensional IoT time series in this investigation. The obtained results showcase the superior performance of the proposed method compared to some deep learning forecasting methods, including LSTM, BiLSTM, TCN, and CNN-LSTM, in terms of accuracy, parsimony, and efficiency. © 2014 IEEE.

This study focuses on network security for Internet of Things (IoT) devices, which are particularly vulnerable to attack due to limited security measures. To protect IoT networks from attackers, the research implemented intrusion detection on the networks. The study compared several Deep Learning algorithms, including DNN, CNN, LSTM, and AE, to identify the most effective algorithm for solving network security problems using intrusion detection. The research used the UNSW-NB15 dataset for testing and employed binary classification for evaluation. The results showed that the DNN algorithm achieved an accuracy value of 99.76% and a loss value of 0.006%, outperforming the other algorithms. This study highlights the importance of implementing intrusion detection in protecting IoT devices and networks and demonstrates the efficacy of the DNN algorithm in detecting and preventing network security breaches. © 2023 IEEE.
