As mobile technologies evolved, the mobile networks provided users not only high mobility, but also high data rates and flexible services. Meanwhile, Internet services had been very successful from 1970s to date. However, the Internet and the mobile telecommunications evolved separately and were not compatible until 3GPP proposed the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). In this paper, we first introduce mobile Web 2.0 application creation in the next generation IMS network. Node degree has been regarded as one of the important and convenient metrics to measure the connectivity of the wireless ad hoc networks. Many studies concerning node degree are based on the assumption of static connectivity graph on the number of nodes, which can not reflect the mobility characteristics in ad hoc networks. In this paper we investigate three fundamental characteristics of a wireless ad hoc network: its node degree distribution, its average node degree and its maximum node degree experienced by all the nodes during theirs movement. We employ a novel mathematical modeling to derive their analytical expressions in presence of radio channel fading. The results of this paper are useful in the study of connectivity and improving algorithm complexity of incentive protocols. Also, these results are of practical value for researchers in this area, e.g., if they set the parameters in a network-level simulation of a mobile ad hoc network or if they design a wireless sensor network.

Over the past few years, digitized music in forms like MP3 has made a great impact on the way of acquiring and listening to music. Due to the advanced communication tools, the consumers may search and purchase their favorite music online without going to physical music stores. Consider that a user occasionally gets an unknown and preferred music episode, but she/he has no idea on how to identify the query terms to retrieve the music using traditional textual-based search engines. Thereupon content-based music retrieval for music identification serves as an adequate solution for the users to search the targeted music effectively and conveniently. In this paper, we present several methods and similarity functions designed to achieve the effective content-based music identification. In particular, we compare the performances of various similarity functions with different musical features under real environments. The experimental results on real music datasets reveal that the Hamming Distance can bring out very robust performance for content-based music identification in terms of accuracy. In addition to music identification, this paper with detailed empirical analysis also provides the researchers with insightful ideas in other real applications such as audio monitoring, musical copyright, etc.

Dual spectral source assisted MOCVD is an ideal technique for the deposition of high dielectric constant materials as well as other electronic and optical materials. Tungsten halogen lamps and a deuterium lamp are used as the sources of optical and thermal energy. Ta2O5 films were deposited at 200°C for 30 minutes and annealed at 600°C for 30 minutes have shown leakage current densities as low as 10−10 A/ cm2 for gate voltage under 5V. To the best of our knowledge, these are the best results reported to date by other researchers. The high energy photons used in the in-situ cleaning and deposition process play an important role in obtaining high quality films of Ta2O5.

A capacitance relative humidity (RH) sensor is described that has a design, construction, and material composition that result in an inexpensive and robust sensor. This sensor has a multilayer, free-standing film construction. It consists of a humidity sensitive polyimide (PI) dielectric core and conductive layers consisting of carbon filled polysulfone on each side of the polyirnide film to form a capacitor. The polyimide used is a BPDA-ODA type, and replaces a PMDA-ODA type polyimide used in a previous version of this sensor. The BPDA-ODA sensor has a nominal capacitance of 200 pF and a nominal sensitivity of 13% at 100% RH. The characteristics of this humidity sensor are discussed and compared to the characteristics of the PMDA-ODA type sensor. Characteristics considered include the PI film moisture uptake and water vapor transmission, and the sensors’ sensitivity to relative humidity, frequency response, and aging at 85°C/85% RH. The dual-state sorption model and free volume calculations are used to demonstrate that observed differences in the film are due to differences in chemical composition between the films.
