Crowd management and analysis(CMA)systems have gained a lot of interest in the vulgarization of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)*** tracking using UAVs is among the most important services provided by a *** this paper,we studied the periodic crowd-tracking(PCT)*** consists in usingUAVs to follow-up crowds,during the life-cycle of an open crowded area(OCA).Two criteria were considered for this *** first is related to the CMA initial investment,while the second is to guarantee the quality of service(QoS).The existing works focus on very specified assumptions that are highly committed to CMAs applications *** study outlined a new binary linear programming(BLP)model to optimally solve the PCT motivated by a real-world application study taking into consideration the high level of *** closely approach different real-world contexts,we carefully defined and investigated a set of parameters related to the OCA characteristics,behaviors,and theCMAinitial infrastructure investment(e.g.,UAVs,charging stations(CSs)).In order to periodically update theUAVs/crowds andUAVs/CSs assignments,the proposed BLP was integrated into a linear algorithm called PCTs *** main objective was to study the PCT problem fromboth theoretical and numerical *** prove the PCTs solver effectiveness,we generated a diversified set of PCTs instances with different scenarios for simulation *** empirical results analysis enabled us to validate the BLPmodel and the PCTs solver,and to point out a set of new challenges for future research directions.

In the past ten years, there has been a rise in nasty behaviors on social media due to the increased use of these platforms. One of the most offensive of these behaviors is hate speech, so users must safeguard themselves against it on social media. This research presents an approach to detect hate speech from social media using an optimized Elman recurrent neural network (ERNN) based on the hybrid local search algorithm (LSA) and elephant herding optimization (EHO) algorithm called LSAEHO. The LSA-EHO algorithm is used to LSA to obtain the optimal solution of EHO, enhance the convergence rate, and avoid the local optima problem of EHO. The LSA-EHO is used to find appropriate hyperparameters for ERNN to enhance the convergence rate and accuracy. The experimental results confirmed that the developed hate speech prediction-based optimized ERNN produced higher prediction accuracy and a faster convergence rate. © 2024 IEEE.

Phonetics is a crucial branch of linguistics that studies human speech sounds and is essential for language learning, speech therapy, and speech technology development. However, current Arabic speech systems cannot instantly analyze and detect mispronunciation of Arabic phonemes, only offering a recording feature for self-evaluation. So, this paper presents a state-of-the-art approach using a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model for detecting and discriminating between Arabic phonemes. The model was tested on a collected dataset for the Arabic phonemes /s/ 'sin' and /s/ 'ad and demonstrated excellent performance in discriminating between them despite their close articulation. The model achieved an accuracy of 97.33% and outperformed other techniques proposed for small datasets. The model can be utilized either independently or integrated into a computer-assisted language learning (CALL) system. Furthermore, our findings suggest that there is significant room for improvement in this area, particularly in collecting large audio datasets for all the Arabic phonemes, refining the algorithms, and optimizing the data processing pipeline. © 2023 IEEE.

Accurate estimation of on-device model training time is increasingly required for emerging learning paradigms on mobile edge devices, such as heterogeneous federated learning (HFL). HFL usually customizes the model architecture according to the different capabilities of mobile edge devices to ensure efficient use of local data from all devices for training. However, due to oversimplification of latency modeling, existing methods rely on a single coefficient to represent computational heterogeneity, resulting in sub-optimal HFL efficiency. We find that existing methods ignore the important impact of runtime optimization of deep learning frameworks, which we call development-chain diversity. Specifically, layers of a model may have different algorithm implementations, and deep learning frameworks often have different strategies for selecting the algorithm they believe is the best based on a range of runtime factors, resulting in different training latencies and invalid predictions from existing methods. In this paper, in addition to considering this diversity to ensure synchronized completion time of model training, we also study how to select the best algorithm each time to reduce the latency of the per-round training, thereby further improving the overall efficiency of federated training. To this end, we propose LATTE, which consists of a novel selector that identifies the best algorithm at runtime based on relative runtime factors. By further integrating it into our training latency model, LATTE provides accurate training time estimation. We develop LATTE as middleware, compatible with different deep learning frameworks. Extensive results show significantly improved training convergence speed and model accuracy compared to state-of-the-art methods. © 2024 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s). In an era dominated by artificial intelligence (AI), concerns about bias and discrimination loom large. The quest for fairness and equity in AI-driven decision-making has led to the exploration of Explainable AI (XAI) as a viable solution. This paper undertakes a thorough examination of the bias ingrained within AI systems and posits XAI as a potent antidote. Beginning with an exploration of the origins and aftermath of bias in AI, the analysis traverses the evolution of XAI techniques, including SHAP, LIME, and counterfactual explanations, clearly stating their advantages and drawbacks. With each XAI method thoroughly inspected, the study unravels their applicability across diverse AI models and domains. Furthermore, a compelling case study is presented, showcasing XAI's practical application in a language translation app, where it guarantees transparency and equity in the translation process. This tangible example serves as a testament to XAI's efficacy in mitigating bias within real-world applications. As the analysis concludes, it underscores the pivotal role XAI plays in fostering accountability and trustworthiness in AI systems. By shedding light on how XAI mitigates bias and offering concrete examples of its utility, the paper advocates for its widespread adoption as an imperative step towards the development of ethically robust AI systems. In a landscape filled with concerns about bias, XAI emerges as a beacon of hope, promising a future where AI decisions are transparent, fair, and equitable for all. © 2024 IEEE.

Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) systems are becoming relevant in the fast-expanding terrain of large-scale networks because of their efficiency in concurrently managing many users. This is true since NOMA systems let numerous users concurrently be managed. On the other hand, the intricacy of these networks leaves them vulnerable to a wide spectrum of attacks, including the more advanced and erratic NOMA attacks on the network. These strikes could produce major disturbances that would compromise the quality of service and cast questions regarding the general network security. It has been demonstrated that the effective projection of these hazards is limited by standard linear and probabilistic techniques. This is true as contemporary methods fail to adequately capture the basic non-linear dynamics of these large-scale networks. This article offers a novel method for NOMA attack prediction by means of a non-linear chaotic belief process. The results are shown here. To recreate the uncertainty and intricate interactions inside the network, the proposed method which is the logistic map which in turn generates the sequences for ensuring the accurate iterative updates which in turn provides better scalability and precision. This integrates belief networks with chaos theory. More exactly, we capture the random and nonlinear aspect of network dynamics by building belief values indicating the likelihood of an attack by use of a chaotic map. After that, the belief values proliferate across the network in search of defects and project the probability of NOMA attacks. Effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by test results on a simulated large-scale network simulation. With a prediction accuracy of 92.7%, the chaotic belief mechanism obtained much above the average accuracy of 78.4% of traditional linear prediction systems. Skin cancer is one of the most prevalent types of cancer globally, with its incidence steadily rising over the past decades. Early and accurate detection of skin cancer plays a pivotal role in improving patient outcomes and reducing mortality rates. In recent years, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have emerged as powerful tools for automated image analysis and classification, offering promising results in various medical imaging tasks, including skin cancer detection. This paper provides a comprehensive review and analysis of CNN-based approaches for skin cancer classification. We discuss the challenges associated with traditional methods of skin cancer diagnosis and highlight the potential of CNNs in addressing these challenges. Furthermore, we survey state-of-the-art CNN architectures, dataset collections, preprocessing techniques, and evaluation metrics commonly used in skin cancer classification tasks. We also delve into the transfer learning and data augmentation strategies employed to improve model generalization and robustness. Additionally, we review recent advancements in interpretability techniques for CNNs, which enhance the transparency and trustworthiness of automated skin cancer diagnosis systems. Finally, we discuss the limitations and future directions of CNN-based approaches in skin cancer classification, emphasizing the need for large-scale, diverse datasets, standardized evaluation protocols, and interdisciplinary collaborations to facilitate the clinical translation and deployment of CNN-based diagnostic tool. © 2024 IEEE.

Urban heat island (UHI) effects, especially in highly urbanised areas, and greenhouse gas emissions from human activity are two elements that accelerate global climate change (GCC). Sustainable city planning and modification may benefit from the quantification of the surface UHI (SUHI) effect utilising land surface temperature (LST), local climate zones (LCZ), and deep learning methods like convolutional neural networks (CNN) and pix2pix. The findings show that socioeconomic variables account for 12–20% of variability in UHI intensity. In general, the contribution rate of urban economic scale is higher than that of population and industrial structure variables. The increase in urban economic expansion increased summertime heat discomfort. This research propose novel method in socioeconomic analysis based on urban heat pattern analysis with public healthcare system using decision-making with DL (deep learning) model. Input is collected as urban heat pattern dataset and processed for noise removal and normalisation. This data has been features are extracted and classified using convolutional fuzzy Q-Gaussian neural network and variational K-C-means regressive learning. The simulation analysis has been carried out based on training accuracy, average precision, recall, and F-measure. The proposed model attained average precision was 94%, recall was 90%, training accuracy was 97%, and F1-score was 92%. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Progressive diagnosis prediction in healthcare is a promising yet challenging task. Existing studies usually assume a pre-defined prior for generating patient distributions (e.g., Gaussian). However, the inferred approximate posterior can deviate from the real-world distribution, which further affects the modeling of continuous disease progression over time. To alleviate such inference bias, we propose an enhanced progressive diagnostic prediction model (i.e., ProCNF), which integrates continuous normalizing flows (CNF) and neural ordinary differential equations (ODEs) to achieve more accurate approximations of patient health trajectories while capturing the continuity underlying disease progression. We first learn patient embeddings with CNF to construct a complex posterior approximation of patient distributions. Then, we devise a CNF-enhanced neural ODE module for progressive diagnostic prediction, which aims to improve the modeling of disease progression for individual patients. Extensive experiments on two real-world longitudinal EHR datasets show significant performance gains brought by our method over state-of-the-art competitors. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). In federated learning (FL), incentivizing contributions of training resources (e.g., data, compute) from potentially competitive clients is crucial. Existing incentive mechanisms often distribute post-training monetary rewards, which suffer from practical challenges of timeliness and feasibility of the rewards. Rewarding the clients after the completion of training may incentivize them to abort the collaboration, and monetizing the contribution is challenging in practice. To address these problems, we propose an incentive-aware algorithm that offers differentiated training-time model rewards for each client at each FL iteration. We theoretically prove that such a local design ensures the global objective of client incentivization. Through theoretical analyses, we further identify the issue of error propagation in model rewards and thus propose a stochastic reference-model recovery strategy to ensure theoretically that all the clients eventually obtain the optimal model in the limit. We perform extensive experiments to demonstrate the superior incentivizing performance of our method compared to existing baselines. © 2024 12th International Conference on Learning Representations, ICLR 2024.
