PS-IPS: Deploying Intrusion Prevention System with machine learning on programmable switch

Intrusion prevention is significant to avoid device damage and financial losses. researchers have proposed various Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) to prevent malware, including traditional and SDN-based IPS. However, existing IPSs suffer from low throughput problems caused by detection and rule-installation delays. Here, we propose a programmable switch-base IPS (named PS-IPS), which utilizes the switch CPU and pipeline to detect malware. PS-IPS consists of four main components: (1) parser, (2) flow filter, (3) recirculation director, and (4) malware detector. According to the experiment, PS-IPS achieves a 183X throughput than the SDN-based IPS. The response time of PS-IPS is also reduced by 99.99%, showing that PS-IPS effectively prevents malware with a single programmable switch. © 2023

Multi-objective optimization is critical for problem-solving in engineering,economics,and *** study introduces the Multi-Objective Chef-Based Optimization Algorithm(MOCBOA),an upgraded version of the Chef-Based Optimization Algorithm(CBOA)that addresses distinct *** approach is unique in systematically examining four dominance relations—Pareto,Epsilon,Cone-epsilon,and Strengthened dominance—to evaluate their influence on sustaining solution variety and driving convergence toward the Pareto *** comparison investigation,which was conducted on fifty test problems from the CEC 2021 benchmark and applied to areas such as chemical engineering,mechanical design,and power systems,reveals that the dominance approach used has a considerable impact on the key optimization measures such as the hypervolume *** paper provides a solid foundation for determining themost effective dominance approach and significant insights for both theoretical research and practical applications in multi-objective optimization.

Ghost Module Based Residual Mixture of Self-Attention and Convolution for Online Signature Verification

Online Signature Verification (OSV), as a personal identification technology, is widely used in various ***, it faces challenges, such as incomplete feature extraction, low accuracy, and computational heaviness. Toaddress these issues, we propose a novel approach for online signature verification, using a one-dimensionalGhost-ACmix Residual Network (1D-ACGRNet), which is a Ghost-ACmix Residual Network that combines convolutionwith a self-attention mechanism and performs improvement by using Ghost method. The Ghost-ACmix Residualstructure is introduced to leverage both self-attention and convolution mechanisms for capturing global featureinformation and extracting local information, effectively complementing whole and local signature features andmitigating the problem of insufficient feature extraction. Then, the Ghost-based Convolution and Self-Attention(ACG) block is proposed to simplify the common parts between convolution and self-attention using the Ghostmodule and employ feature transformation to obtain intermediate features, thus reducing computational ***, feature selection is performed using the random forestmethod, and the data is dimensionally reducedusing Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Finally, tests are implemented on the MCYT-100 datasets and theSVC-2004 Task2 datasets, and the equal error rates (EERs) for small-sample training using five genuine andforged signatures are 3.07% and 4.17%, respectively. The EERs for training with ten genuine and forged signaturesare 0.91% and 2.12% on the respective datasets. The experimental results illustrate that the proposed approacheffectively enhances the accuracy of online signature verification.

Motivated by the recent discoveries of the orbital excitations BsJ(6063) and BsJ(6114) by the LHCb Collaboration [Eur. Phys. J. C 81.7 (2021), p. 601] we conducted a comprehensive investigation of the excited Bs mesons within the framework of the heavy quark effective theory (HQET). By leveraging the spin-flavor symmetry of the heavy quark and the chiral symmetry of the light quark, we explore the flavor-independent parameters ΔF(c)=ΔF(b) and λF(c)=λF(b) to compute the masses of bottom mesons that have not yet been experimentally identified. Furthermore, I determine their strong decay behavior into ground state bottom mesons along with light pseudoscalar mesons. This study not only contributes to our understanding of the properties of these observed bottom mesons but also provides valuable insights for future experimental investigations into radially and orbitally excited states. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Clinical auxiliary decision-making is related to life and health of patients, so the deep model needs to extract the personalised representation of patients to ensure high analysis and prediction accuracy;and provide a basis for prediction conclusions. Searchable Encryption(SE)enables data owners to search remotely stored ciphertexts selectively.A practical model that is closest to real life should be able to handle search queries with multiple keywords and multiple data owners/users,and even return the top-k most relevant search results when *** refer to a model that satisfies all of the conditions a 3-multi ranked search ***,SE schemes that have been proposed to date use fully trusted trapdoor generation centers,and several methods assume a secure connection between the data users and a trapdoor generation *** is,they assume the trapdoor generation center is the only entity that can learn the information regarding queried keywords,but it will never attempt to use it in any other manner than that requested,which is impractical in real *** this study,to enhance the security,we propose a new 3-multi ranked SE scheme that satisfies all conditions without these security *** proposed scheme uses randomized keywords to protect the interested keywords of users from both outside adversaries and the honest-but-curious trapdoor generation center,thereby preventing attackers from determining whether two different queries include the same ***,we develop a method for managing multiple encrypted keywords from every data owner,each encrypted with a different *** evaluation demonstrates that,despite the trade-off overhead that results from the weaker security assumption,the proposed scheme achieves reasonable performance compared to extant schemes,which implies that our scheme is practical and closest to real life.

Automatic text summarization using deep reinforced model coupling contextualized word representation and attention mechanism

With the rapid and unprecedented growth of textual data in recent years, there is a remarkable need for automatic text summarization models to retrieve useful information from these large numbers of textual documents without human intervention within a reasonable time. Text summarization is commonly performed based on extractive and abstractive paradigms. Although different machine learning and deep learning based methods have been proposed for the task of text summarization during the last decades, they are still in their early steps of development and their potential has yet to be fully explored. Accordingly, a new summarization model is proposed in this paper which takes advantage of both extractive and abstractive text summarization models as a single unified model based on the strategy gradient of reinforcement learning. The proposed model also employs the combination of convolutional neural network and gated recurrent unit in both extraction and abstraction modules besides attention mechanism. Moreover, language models, namely Word2Vec and BERT, are used as the backbone of the proposed model to better express sentence semantics as a word vector. We conducted our experiments on widely-studied text summarization datasets (CNN\Daily Mail and DUC-2004) and according to the empirical results, not only the proposed model achieved higher accuracy compared to both extractive and abstractive summarization models in terms of ROUGE metric but also its generated summaries presented higher saliency and readability based on human evaluation. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

Sentiment analysis, a crucial task in discerning emotional tones within the text, plays a pivotal role in understandingpublic opinion and user sentiment across diverse *** numerous scholars conduct sentiment analysisin widely spoken languages such as English, Chinese, Arabic, Roman Arabic, and more, we come to grapplingwith resource-poor languages like Urdu literature which becomes a challenge. Urdu is a uniquely crafted language,characterized by a script that amalgamates elements from diverse languages, including Arabic, Parsi, Pashtu,Turkish, Punjabi, Saraiki, and more. As Urdu literature, characterized by distinct character sets and linguisticfeatures, presents an additional hurdle due to the lack of accessible datasets, rendering sentiment analysis aformidable undertaking. The limited availability of resources has fueled increased interest among researchers,prompting a deeper exploration into Urdu sentiment analysis. This research is dedicated to Urdu languagesentiment analysis, employing sophisticated deep learning models on an extensive dataset categorized into fivelabels: Positive, Negative, Neutral, Mixed, and Ambiguous. The primary objective is to discern sentiments andemotions within the Urdu language, despite the absence of well-curated datasets. To tackle this challenge, theinitial step involves the creation of a comprehensive Urdu dataset by aggregating data from various sources such asnewspapers, articles, and socialmedia comments. Subsequent to this data collection, a thorough process of cleaningand preprocessing is implemented to ensure the quality of the data. The study leverages two well-known deeplearningmodels, namely Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), for bothtraining and evaluating sentiment analysis performance. The Internet of Vehicles(IoV)is a networking paradigm related to the intercommunication of vehicles using a *** a dynamic network,one of the key challenges in IoV is traffic management under increasing vehicles to avoid ***,optimal path selection to route traffic between the origin and destination is *** research proposed a realistic strategy to reduce traffic management service response time by enabling real-time content distribution in IoV systems using heterogeneous network ***,this work proposed a novel use of the Ant Colony Optimization(ACO)algorithm and formulated the path planning optimization problem as an Integer Linear Program(ILP).This integrates the future estimation metric to predict the future arrivals of the vehicles,searching the optimal *** the mobile nature of IOV,fuzzy logic is used for congestion level estimation along with the ACO to determine the optimal *** model results indicate that the suggested scheme outperforms the existing state-of-the-art methods by identifying the shortest and most cost-effective ***,this work strongly supports its use in applications having stringent Quality of Service(QoS)requirements for the vehicles.

TGFN-SD:A text-guided multimodal fusion network for swine disease diagnosis

China is the world's largest producer of pigs,but traditional manual prevention,treatment,and diagnosis methods cannot satisfy the demands of the current intensive production *** computer-aided diagnosis(CAD)systems for pigs are dominated by expert systems,which cannot be widely applied because the collection and maintenance of knowledge is difficult,and most of them ignore the effect of multimodal information.A swine disease diagnosis model was proposed in this study,the Text-Guided Fusion Network-Swine Diagnosis(TGFN-SD)model,which integrated text case reports and disease *** model integrated the differences and complementary information in the multimodal representation of diseases through the text-guided transformer module such that text case reports could carry the semantic information of disease images for disease ***,it alleviated the phenotypic overlap problem caused by similar diseases in combination with supervised learning and self-supervised *** results revealed that TGFN-SD achieved satisfactory performance on a constructed swine disease image and text dataset(SDT6K)that covered six disease classification datasets with accuracy and F1-score of 94.48%and 94.4%*** accuracies and F1-scores increased by 8.35%and 7.24%compared with those under the unimodal situation and by 2.02%and 1.63%compared with those of the optimal baseline model under the multimodal ***,interpretability analysis revealed that the model focus area was consistent with the habits and rules of the veterinary clinical diagnosis of pigs,indicating the effectiveness of the proposed model and providing new ideas and perspectives for the study of swine disease CAD.
