Soil salinity is a serious land degradation issue in *** is a major threat to agriculture *** irrigation water is applied to leach down the salts from the root zone of the plants in the form of a Leaching fraction(LF)of irrigation *** the leaching process to be effective,the LF of irriga-tion water needs to be adjusted according to the environmental conditions and soil salinity level in the form of Evapotranspiration(ET)*** relationship between environmental conditions and ET rate is hard to be deﬁned by a linear relationship and data-driven Machine learning(ML)based decisions are required to determine the calibrated Evapotranspiration(ETc)***-assisted ETc is pro-posed to adjust the LF according to the ETc and soil salinity level.A regression model is proposed to determine the ETc rate according to the prevailing tempera-ture,humidity,and sunshine,which would be used to determine the smart LF according to the ETc and soil salinity *** proposed model is trained and tested against the Blaney Criddle method of Reference evapotranspiration(ETo)*** validation of the model from the test dataset reveals the accu-racy of the ML model in terms of Root mean squared errors(RMSE)are 0.41,Mean absolute errors(MAE)are 0.34,and Mean squared errors(MSE)are 0.28 mm *** applications of the proposed solution in a real-time environ-ment show that the LF by the proposed solution is more effective in reducing the soil salinity as compared to the traditional process of leaching.

Using public fingerprint databases to validate the multi-instance fusion approach of a Multi-instance Biometric Authentication system (MBAS) for accurate authentication is a means of overcoming some of the limitations of a Unimodal Biometric system (UBS). Nevertheless, a significant portion of the web databases used for MBAS (Machine Learning-Based Automated systems) were obtained under controlled conditions, with the photos being curated to align with a certain algorithmic objective. The performance of biometric systems exhibits variability when the datasets used in the algorithms undergo modifications as a result of discrepancies in the settings under which the photos were obtained. In this study, a database containing multiple fingerprint instances was developed locally in an uncontrolled environment. The aim was to create a database containing numerous examples of fingerprints for the same person from one or multiple data collection sessions. The database was produced locally by acquiring six samples of ten fingerprint instances of 150 subjects in an uncontrolled environment using a Futronic fingerprint scanner. The created database and results will be helpful to all researchers in the biometrics field as a tool for improving multi-instance fusion methods and enabling an unbiased evaluation of algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.

This research paper aims to provide qualitative and quantitative insights regarding the application of drones and big data techniques in the SCM field through a new scientific method. The proposed method exploits the opportunities of drones for real-time data capturing and big data technologies to enrich decision making in supply chain. The study is pertinent to modern tendencies in supply chain systems and proves the efficiency of the new method through the precise calculations and contrastive analysis. The following are some of the findings that suggest efficiency, cost decrease, and outstanding performance of the supply chain. The studies being offered in this research will prove beneficial for practitioners and researchers who endeavor to advance the concepts and practice of logistics and supply chain management. © 2024 IEEE.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) with Deep Learning (DL) for Tweets Classification includes use of advanced neural network designs to analyse and classify Twitter messages. DL techniques like recurrent neural network (RNN) or transformer-based frameworks like BERT are used to mechanically learn difficult linguistic patterns and contextual info from tweet data. These techniques able to capture subtleties of language with sarcasm, sentiment, and context-specific meanings and making them suitable for tasks like sentiment analysis or topic classification in realm of social media. Leveraging deep symbols learned from great amounts of textual data, these NLP techniques permit precise and nuanced classification of tweets, donating to enhanced information retrieval, sentiment tracking, and trend analysis in dynamic and fast-paced world of social media communication. In this view, this research develops an arithmetic optimization algorithm with deep learning based tweets classification (AOADL-TC) approach for sustainable living. The goal of the AOADL-TC technique is to identify and discriminate different kinds of sentiments that exist in the tweet data. At the initial stage, the AOADL-TC model pre-processes tweet data to convert uniform data into a useful format. For sentiment detection, the AOADL-TC technique applies a parallel bidirectional gated recurrent unit (BiGRU) model. At last, tuning of parameters related to parallel BiGRU model performed by AOA. An wide set of tests carried out to illustrate better performance of AOADL-TC model. The experimental outcomes portrayed that AOADL-TC technique demonstrates the supremacy of the AOADL-TC technique in terms of different evaluation metrics. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Brain-inspired computing methods have shown remarkable efficiency and robustness compared to deep neural networks (DNN). In particular, HyperDimensional Computing (HDC) and Vision Transformer (ViT) have demonstrated promising achievements in facilitating effective and reliable cognitive learning. This paper proposes SpatialHD, the first framework that combines spatial transformer networks (STN) and HDC. First, SpatialHD exploits the STN, which explicitly allows the spatial manipulation of data within the network. Then, it employs HDC to operate over STN output by mapping feature maps into high-dimensional space, learning abstracted information, and classifying data. In addition, the STN output is resized to generate a smaller input feature map. This further reduces computing complexity and memory storage compared to HDC alone. Finally, to test the model's functionality, we applied spatial HD for image classification, utilizing the MNIST and Fashion-MNIST datasets, using only 25% of the dataset for training. Our results show that SpatialHD improves accuracy by ≈ 8% and enhances efficiency by approximately 2.5x compared to base-HDC. © 2023 IEEE.

Federated learning (FL) enables massive clients to collaboratively train a global model by aggregating their local updates without disclosing raw data. Communication has become one of the main bottlenecks that prolongs the training process, especially under large model variances due to skewed data distributions. Existing efforts mainly focus on either single momentum-based gradient descent, or random client selection for potential variance reduction, yet both often lead to poor model accuracy and system efficiency. In this paper, we propose FedMoS, a communication-efficient FL framework with coupled double momentum-based update and adaptive client selection, to jointly mitigate the intrinsic variance. Specifically, FedMoS maintains customized momentum buffers on both server and client sides, which track global and local update directions to alleviate the model discrepancy. Taking momentum results as input, we design an adaptive selection scheme to provide a proper client representation during FL aggregation. By optimally calibrating clients' selection probabilities, we can effectively reduce the sampling variance, while ensuring unbiased aggregation. Through a rigid analysis, we show that FedMoS can attain the theoretically optimal O(T - 2/3) convergence rate. Extensive experiments using real-world datasets further validate the superiority of FedMoS, with 58%-87% communication reduction for achieving the same target performance compared to state-of-the-art techniques. © 2023 IEEE.

Developing upon open system architecture, Software-Defined Spacecraft, as a new generation of spacecraft, can support payload plug-and-play, application software loading as needed, and system function reconfiguration on demand. Therefore, the Software-Defined Spacecraft is able to solve the design and application limitations of traditional specific-designed spacecraft, making it become a significant developing trend of future spacecraft. Regarding to the software defined spacecraft bus, this paper analyzes the requirements for avionics system on the aspects of space field development, technology development and corresponding applications. In recent years,progressive developments have been observed in recent technologies and the production cost has been continuously *** such scenario,Internet of Things(IoT)network which is comprised of a set of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAV),has received more attention from civilian tomilitary *** network security poses a serious challenge to UAV networks whereas the intrusion detection system(IDS)is found to be an effective process to secure the UAV *** IDSs are not adequate to handle the latest computer networks that possess maximumbandwidth and data *** order to improve the detection performance and reduce the false alarms generated by IDS,several researchers have employed Machine Learning(ML)and Deep Learning(DL)algorithms to address the intrusion detection *** this view,the current research article presents a deep reinforcement learning technique,optimized by BlackWidow Optimization(DRL-BWO)algorithm,for UAV *** addition,DRL involves an improved reinforcement learning-based Deep Belief Network(DBN)for intrusion *** parameter optimization of DRL technique,BWO algorithm is *** helps in improving the intrusion detection performance of UAV *** extensive set of experimental analysis was performed to highlight the supremacy of the proposed *** the simulation values,it is evident that the proposed method is appropriate as it attained high precision,recall,F-measure,and accuracy values such as 0.985,0.993,0.988,and 0.989 respectively.

The Sunway family supercomputers have achieved a series of remarkable achievements. However, the toolchains provided by them are not perfect, which has brought great challenges to the development of high-performance application software. In this paper, a profiling and optimizing tool is proposed to assist people to analyze and optimize the performance of their programs. SWPFOPLD is independent of the application program and gathers the runtime performance data through the PMUs, an automatically hot functions rearrange optimization based on the performance data is furtherly accomplished. The evaluation shows that SWPFOPLD can be easily and effectively used to analyze and optimize the performance of the application programs. © 2023 IEEE.
