Heart disease remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide,highlighting the need for improved diagnostic *** diagnostics face limitations such as reliance on single-modality data and vulnerability to apparatus faults,which can reduce accuracy,especially with poor-quality ***,these methods often require significant time and expertise,making them less accessible in resource-limited *** technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning offer promising solutions by integrating multi-modality data and enhancing diagnostic precision,ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare *** study introduces Heart-Net,a multi-modal deep learning framework designed to enhance heart disease diagnosis by integrating data from Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)and Electrocardiogram(ECG).Heart-Net uses a 3D U-Net for MRI analysis and a Temporal Convolutional Graph Neural Network(TCGN)for ECG feature extraction,combining these through an attention mechanism to emphasize relevant *** is performed using Optimized *** approach improves early detection,reduces diagnostic errors,and supports personalized risk assessments and continuous health *** proposed approach results show that Heart-Net significantly outperforms traditional single-modality models,achieving accuracies of 92.56%forHeartnetDataset Ⅰ(HNET-DSⅠ),93.45%forHeartnetDataset Ⅱ(HNET-DSⅡ),and 91.89%for Heartnet Dataset Ⅲ(HNET-DSⅢ),mitigating the impact of apparatus faults and image quality *** findings underscore the potential of Heart-Net to revolutionize heart disease diagnostics and improve clinical outcomes.

In the digital era, the preservation of cultural heritage faces unique challenges and opportunities. This research explores the integration of technology with traditional cultural practices, aiming to ensure sustainable preservation and promotion of cultural heritage. A key component of the study is the application of SmartPLS, a structural equation modeling tool, to analyze relationships between variables, including Technological Adoption (TA), Cultural Engagement (CE), Preservation Effectiveness (PE), Digital Documentation (DD), and Community Involvement (CI). Preliminary data indicate that Technological Adoption accounts for approximately 45.5% of the variance in Cultural Engagement, while Digital Documentation contributes to 38% of the variance in Preservation Effectiveness. Community Involvement influences Preservation Effectiveness by 30%. The research employs qualitative methods, including interviews and case studies, to evaluate various digital preservation initiatives. The study aims to provide a framework for integrating technology into cultural preservation, guidelines for effective documentation, and policy recommendations for sustainable cultural tourism. It holds significant implications for cultural organizations, communities, and policymakers, offering a pathway to ensure that cultural traditions are not only remembered but also experienced and appreciated by future generations in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. © 2024 IEEE.

The incorporation of Internet of Things (IoT) cloud computing solutions with smart grids signifies a significant advancement in energy management. Traditional methods, though beneficial, often lack scalability and real-time capabilities, limiting their effectiveness in managing the complexity of modern energy systems. In this paper, a novel approach cloud-based IoT technologies to address these shortcomings and enhance smart grid functionalities. Existing energy management methods heavily rely on localized monitoring and control systems, constraining scalability and real-time responsiveness. Additionally, these methods struggle to handle the immense data generated by IoT devices dispersed throughout the grid. The proposed approach tackles these challenges by utilizing cloud computing to store, process, and analyze IoT sensor data in real-time. The novelty of this method lies in seamlessly integrating cloud-based platforms with IoT devices across the smart grid. Through utilising cloud resources, the limitations of traditional approaches are overcome, enabling scalable, real-time oversight and management of grid assets. The methodology involves deploying IoT sensors across the grid to compile information about energy usage, generation, and distribution, which is then transmitted to cloud servers for analysis and decision-making. Through simulations and real-world experiments, the effectiveness of this approach in optimizing grid performance, improving reliability, and facilitating demand-response programs is demonstrated. The results exhibit significant enhancements in grid efficiency and resilience, showcasing the potential of cloud-based IoT solutions to transform energy management in smart grids. Overall, this proposed method presents a promising pathway towards establishing more efficient, sustainable, and resilient energy infrastructure for the future. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid advancement of deep learning technology, feature extraction backbones that are effectively trained have found increasing use in various traffic perception tasks, such as vehicle recognition and roadway user detection and classification. However, given the naturally imbalanced distribution of objects in the real world, deep learning networks can inadvertently act as bias amplifiers, leading to unfair detection and classification outcomes. Addressing and quantifying this bias in traffic applications has thus become a pressing challenge. In response, this research introduces the first comprehensive traffic imbalance object recognition dataset tailored for autonomous vehicles, called the Autonomous-vehicle Long-tail Image Dataset (ALIDA). This dataset reflects real-world sample distribution and includes four categories—motorized users, non-motorized users, roadway facilities, and traffic signs—spanning 87 classes and totaling 37,558 images. Our experimental results confirm that these backbones may struggle to accurately recognize less common objects with limited training data, such as children and wheelchair users. To mitigate such biases and improve traffic perception equality, we introduce a DEbiased Traffic Object Recognition (DETOR) scheme. This scheme leverages both few-shot and representation learning techniques. Employing DETOR, the residual neural network achieved a 290% increase in accuracy for recognizing minority classes, such as children, motorcyclists, deer, and bears. This not only enhances the effectiveness but also significantly improves the fairness and scalability of traffic perception using deep neural networks.

Optical metasurfaces are engineered 2D electromagnetic structures enabling flat optical elements with properties not readily found in nature. Their unit cells, meta-atoms, usually are represented by a set of electric and magnetic multipoles. All-dielectric-based metasurfaces have recently attracted significant attention owing to their virtually lossless transmission properties at optical frequencies. A majority of reported dielectric metamaterials are composed of relatively simple meta-atoms such as spheres, cubes, and cylinders, whose electromagnetic response is dominated by the electric dipole. However, magnetic dipoles and higher-order multipoles may enable new optical properties and functionalities, including directional scattering, beam steering, and new frequency generation. Despite impressive progress in the field of optical metamaterials and nanofabrication technologies, engineering meta-atoms that support such higher-order resonances is still challenging. Here, we demonstrate that designed titanium dioxide meta-atoms can enable dominant magnetic dipole response. We apply a machine-learning model to predict a meta-atom shape with a strong magnetic dipole resonant mode at the operating wavelength of 750 nm. Using finite-element-based numerical simulations implemented in COMSOL Multiphysics, we found that the optimized meta-atom is robust against experimental variations and conditions such as a non-perfectly collimated incident beam, nanofabrication inaccuracies, and an added substrate. The meta-atoms have been fabricated using two approaches, focused ion beam lithography and an electron beam lithography followed by reactive ion etching, and characterized using white light spectroscopy. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first experimental realization of a machine-learning-based optimization of a magnetic dipole mode at optical frequencies. © 2024 SPIE.

This research delves into the realm of AI-driven heat dissipation, offering a suite of algorithms to address the challenges posed by high-intensity boiling environments. The proposed predictive modeling algorithm, rooted in linear regression, provides a systematic and robust approach through 20 meticulously designed steps. This algorithm, along with neural networks, reinforcement learning, generative adversarial networks (GANs), and genetic algorithms, forms a versatile toolbox for thermal management. Linear regression, through its step-by-step predictive modeling process, ensures accurate heat dissipation predictions. Neural networks, employing backpropagation, showcase adaptability and complexity, excelling in real-time adaptation. Reinforcement learning, specifically Q-Learning, introduces dynamic decision-making strategies, vital for navigating complex thermal scenarios. GANs contribute by generating realistic synthetic data, an invaluable asset for simulating high intensity boiling environments. Genetic algorithms, resembling natural selection, prove versatile and scalable in evolving optimal solutions. The research evaluates these algorithms comprehensively, demonstrating the proposed method's superiority in prediction accuracy, energy efficiency, adaptability, and overall performance. The proposed predictive modeling algorithm stands out as a benchmark, showcasing its potential for practical implementation and optimization in diverse scenarios. This comprehensive exploration sets the stage for innovative solutions to the intricate challenges of thermal management, as continuous adaptation and fine-tuning remain pivotal in this dynamic landscape. © 2024 IEEE.

Currently, there is a growing interest in the topic of power quality across the entire electric power system. The power system is a complex network of modules with a broad distribution area, designed to meet the demand for electric power. The power system is susceptible to a range of disturbances arising from either dynamic consumer load behavior or faults. The power system necessitates a precise and advanced stability and protection mechanism. Ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the power system is a significant challenge, with voltage stability and fault protection being key areas of concern. The present research study proposes a technique to augment the stability of a grid-connected system that comprises of several generating sources through the utilization of FACTS devices, specifically static synchronous compensator (STATCOM). The technology has been designed to enable the monitoring of supervisory control of devices, while the distribution system offers decision-making tools to enhance system performance. A fault was generated between the time interval of 1-1.04 sec duration, and the simulation waveform was subsequently observed. The present study entails a simulation-based comparison between a power system without a STATCOM devise and one equipped with the STATCOM. The analysis results of the transient voltage stability of HV AC transmission lines utilizing STATCOM. © 2023 IEEE.

Illegible handwriting on medical prescriptions poses a significant challenge, often leading to the misinterpretation of drug names and dosages. This issue primarily stems from doctors’ use of Latin abbreviations, driven by time constraints during patient consultations. The resultant discrepancies in prescription interpretation can potentially expose patients to incorrect medications and dosages, leading to adverse effects. In response to this concern, this study proposes a novel system integrating Convolution Neural Network (CNN) and Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) models. Promising findings are reported in this study, achieving a loss of 0.4874 and an accuracy of 0.83 in the latest trial. The final model offers a potential solution to the persistent problem of illegible prescriptions, enhancing patient safety in the healthcare domain.
