The solution of the biharmonic equation using Adini nonconforming finite elements are considered and results for the multi-parameter asymptotic expansions and extrapolation are reported. The Adini nonconforming finite element solution of the biharmonic equation is shown and it have a multi-parameter asymptotic error expansion and extrapolation. This expansion and a multi-parameter extrapolation technique are used to develop an accurate approximation parallel algorithm for the biharmonic equation. Finally, numerical results have verified the extrapolation theory.

In this paper, we develop a 4-DOF force display system for the analysis by synthesis of facial color for the interaction with anthropomorphic agent. By using the system, we analyze the changes in facial skin temperature and facial color associated with circulation dynamics in response to forced actions. On the basis of the analysis, we propose a synthetic method for the affect display of virtual face with facial color and expression in force display, and the effectiveness of the method is confirmed. Finally, we develop a prototype of virtual arm wrestling system with anthropomorphic agent using synthesized dynamic three-dimensional facial color and expression.

Form the social need for aging the rehabilitation robot will be expected to become one of the most significant application fields of robotics. Although many researches have been reported in this field, there have been only a few cases of the application for the upper limbs. From these backgrounds, we have been developing a rehabilitation support system for reaching exercises of the upper limb motor function. In this paper, we introduce the rehabilitation support system, which we have developed. In this system, the exercise for the subject is accomplished as follows: A subject grasps the grip. The grip and a tracing pattern are shown on the display. Then, the subject is instructed to move the grip so as to trace the pattern while watching the display. During this operation his/her traces that are off-trace are corrected to the desired pattern by the aid of servomechanism. This function is called a motion assistance function. Through this exercise, the subject is expected to increase the reaching ability and to acquire the stable reaching motion. In order to realize this function, we proposed a control method is based on impedance control. In order to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control method, we applied the proposed system to a healthy student before applying it to patients. Some basic experimental results show that the proposed motion control is effective to achieve the reaching exercise.

This paper presents a secure agent server named J-SAS. J-SAS is a secure and distributed execution environment for mobile agents. The core of the J-SAS is an agent virtual machine fulfilling the same functions as a traditional host machine. J-SAS considers the agent as an autonomous entity with execution code, state, specification and certification parts. J-SAS provides mobility, state dependency, run time code altering, and communications facilities. J-SAS consists of two main parts: agent gateway (AgG) and agent server (AgS). AgG is responsible for receiving agent through HTTP, authentication and delivering it with a passport to AgS. On the other side, AgS gets the agent, checks its passport, translates its code to safe code, initializes its state and runs it in a secure environment. Using resource allocation algorithms, ACL and authentication, J-SAS shows a good defensive mood against unauthorized read/write, denial of service and masquerading attacks.
