LUC Algorithm in Visual Cryptography

Nowadays, messaging technology in digital data form more often used and not less messages that confidentially wanted. Then it should be modified so that can be understood only by the sender and the intended recipients. All of this system can be realization by using cryptography. LUC algorithms are introduced by Smith and Lennon in 1993. LUC algorithm is an algorithm that based on the use of Lucas sequence (specific arithmetic operations derived from Lucas row) that rarely used to enhance the security of the messages. In this research, LUC algorithm is combined with visual cryptography to process the encryption and the description of a colored image. Four different images were used in the trial here. The performance of the system is assessed using Structural similarity (SSIM) which has an assessment similar to human eye. If the image quality is the same as the original image, then the SSIM value is one. Whereas if the quality of decryption image is very different from the original image then the value of SSIM is zero.

In this paper, we present an analysis of implemented QAM modulator in HFC network. It may be through the 256 QAM modulation using a single carrier to transmit data up to 38.8 Mbps. 64/256-QaM modulator based on ITU-T J.83 Annex B is implemented as a board which includes field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). Implemented Modulator consists of RS-TCM encoder, a QAM modulator and Digital to analog converter (DAC). We analyze the received MPEG-2 TS stream and measured Program Clock Reference (PCR) jitter. TS stream is normally being received, PCR was confirmed to operate reliably within approximately -50 to +300 ns.

Search engines have become an integral part of student learning activities. This study aims to see how the use of search engines by students, especially by students of the Library and Information Science Program, Faculty of communication Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran. This study uses the mixed method. The research data was obtained through questionnaires, in-depth interviews, observations and literature studies. The results of the study showed that in learning activities, the respondents used search engines to find the references for college assignments and thesis writing material. The students also use search engines to meet daily information needs, solve problems, increase knowledge, reduce doubts, clarify things, entertain, fulfill curiosity about others, etc. The retrieval technique used by students is by using keywords/queries, Boolean logic, query strategies in the form of a brief search and using the advanced search feature. This research is expected to contribute to the university in supporting online-based learning facilities for students.

Errors in data transmission cannot be known directly when the data transmission process is fulfilled, but error is often prevalent in data transmission. Faulty or missing frames or bits are standard errors and to control or check errors requires a unique method, in this case, the Stop-and-wait method, Go-Back-N and Selective Reject are methods that can be used to do so, comparison of time of error checking process with Stop-and-wait method, Go-Back-N and Selective Reject is very important to get the right method to check the ignorance, from testing performed that the method of Go-Back-N is much faster than the other methods.

Dynamic conditional correlation (DCC) is a method that estimates the correlation between two time series across time. Although used primarily in finance so far, DCC has been proposed recently as a model-based estimation method for quantifying functional connectivity during fMRI experiments. DCC could also be used to estimate the dynamic correlation between other types of time series such as localfieldpotentials (LFP's) or spike trains recorded from distinct brain areas. DCC has very nice properties compared to other existing methods, but its applications for neuroscience are currently limited because of non-optimal performance in the presence of outliers. To address this issue, we developed a robust non-parametric version of DCC, based on an adaptation of the weighted visibility graph algorithm which converts a time series into a weighted graph. The modified DCC demonstrated better performance in the analysis of empirical data sets: one fMRI data set collected from a human subject performing a Stroop task;and one LFP data set recorded from an awake rat in resting state. Nonparametric DCC has the potential of enlarging the spectrum of analytical tools designed to assess the dynamic coupling and uncoupling of activity among brain areas. Copyright © 2017, The Authors. A CMOS chaotic jerk oscillator is presented based on inherently hyperbolic tangent nonlinearity. The circuit comprises three Gm-C integrators, a current mirror and a differential Operational Transconductance Amplifier (OTA). The OTA provides inherently hyperbolic tangent nonlinearity for chaos. A balanced double-scroll strange attractor is capable of continuously smooth transition to an unbalanced double-scroll and, finally, to either a right-half or a left-half single-scroll attractor. Such transition is adjustable by varying a DC voltage. The circuit is implemented in a 0.18-μm CMOS technology with full-custom design. © 2016 IEEE.

This paper designed XMDR-DAI-based hospital information system in mobile cloud environment. The system supported data interoperability service between systems in the process of transmitting data collated from BSN (Body Sensor Network) environment to the hospital information system. This study suggested XMDR-DAI-based MCBS (Mobile Body Cloud system) in the mobile cloud environment. The system integrated sensor information obtained from BSN to support interoperability service for medical information between HIS (Hospital Information system). © 2016 SERSC.

Healthcare solutions through the introduction of wearable healthcare devices are benefitting from Internet of Things technology. Though these small form-factor wearable devices promise great benefits, guaranteeing long device operating lifetime is yet the biggest challenge due to high-energy consumption. In this paper, a reduced hardware architecture system-on-chip targeting digital block design was proposed higher energy efficiency. The design has been verified by synthesizing into FPGA and implemented in silicon based on Silterra 180nm process. Results show that the proposed design achieved reduction up to 24% of leakage power and 15% of dynamic power reduction over reference design. In addition, 24.3% of excessive area was reduced by using the proposed reduced hardware architecture technique. © 2015 IEEE.

Estimating communication skills based on multimodal information in group discussions

This paper focuses on developing a model for estimating communication skills of each participant in a group from multimodal (verbal and nonverbal) features. For this purpose, we use a multimodal group meeting corpus including audio signal data and head motion sensor data of participants observed in 30 group meeting sessions. The corpus also includes the communication skills of each participant, which is assessed by 21 external observers with the experience of human resource management. We extracted various kinds of features such as spoken utterances, acoustic features, speaking turns and the amount of head motion to estimate the communication skills. First, we created a regression model to infer the level of communication skills from these features using support vector regression to evaluate the estimation accuracy of the communication skills. Second, we created a binary (high or low) classification model using support vector machine. Experiment results show that the multimodal model achieved 0.62 in R2 as the regression accuracy of overall skill, and also achieved 0.93 as the classification accuracy. This paper reports effective features in predicting the level of communication skill and shows that these features are also useful in characterizing the difference between the participants who have high level communication skills and those who do not. © 2016, Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence. Mobility Issue on Octagonal Structured ZigBee Network Using Riverbed

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a special type of communication medium through distributed sensor nodes. Popular wireless sensor nodes like ZigBee have splendid interoperability after IEEE 802.15.4 standardization in the domain of wireless personal area network (WPAN). ZigBee has another great feature mobility that makes the ZigBee network more versatile. The mobility feature of ZigBee mobile nodes has a greater impact on network performance than fixed nodes. This impact sometimes turns into more severe because of network structure and mobility model. This study mainly focuses on the performance analysis of the ZigBee mobile node under Random and Octagonal mobility management model with the Tree routing method. The Riverbed academic modeler is used to design, implement and simulate the ZigBee network under certain conditions. This study also presents a competitive performance analysis based on ZigBee mobile nodes transmitter and receiver characteristics under the observation of the mobility model. This indicates that Octagonal mobility model exhibits better performance than the Random mobility model. This study will constitute a new way for further designing and planning a reliable and efficient ZigBee network.
