In order to increase the coding efficiency of H.264/AVC, this paper proposed a parallelized approach of full search (FS) algorithm for motion estimation on Graphic Processor Unit (GPU) using computing unified device architecture (CUDA). By utilizing the independence among different MBs, we are able to take the full advantage of the computational power of CUDA and speed up the FS motion estimation by a large scale. Experimental results show that our implementation on CUDA can be as much as 50 times faster than existing CPU implementations.

Reducing our power consumption is an urgent issue which has important economical and ecological benefits. By using femtocell technology the mobile network can become far more energy efficient than it is today. In this paper, we describe what femtocell technology is and introduce outdoor femtocell distribution strategies that can save the network power. We also compare the usage of typical short-range base stations in place of femtocells and show that femtocells are more efficient. The results of the introduced strategies show that significant power savings of up to 92% can be achieved on a per-macrocell basis if implemented.

This paper presents a new speed controller based on the theory of adaptive fuzzy inference system based on neural (ANFIS) for a direct torque to twelve sectors controlled of the induction motor. The proposed controller integrates fuzzy logic algorithm with a structure of artificial neural network (ANN) five-layer in order to reap the benefits of both methods, the learning abilities of the first and readability and flexibility of the second. The controller replaces the conventional PI is the rule fuzzy inference system with the hybrid learning algorithm. This makes learning the fuzzy system. The performance of the proposed neuro-fuzzy control for induction motor speed was studied at different operating conditions. The simulation study shows the robustness and relevance of control for applications in high performance driving.

Lack of hearing ability hinders deaf children from mastering grammar in language studies. Unfortunately, such software targeting Malay language is limited. This paper attempts to generate new approach in handling such software. These include detection of defects when switching into local languages, date format and accommodating the local laws. The acceptance of international software for local use goes beyond just these aspects. For this purpose, software that supports the multi-languages is evaluated. The main research question of this paper: The lack of cultural dimensions in localisation testing of assistive technology decreases the effectiveness of localisation testing of the localised software. On the account of cultural dimensions, Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions will be experimented to study which cultural dimensions are most suited for such software. From our empirical results, the failure rate of the testing is higher compared to incorporating culture dimensions.

No-reference quality evaluation is more difficult because it does not refer to any image. However, in some cases, like virtual view images, can not find the reference image, no-reference method had to be used. With the free viewpoint video technology development and application, measuring the performance of the multiview video system is essential and virtual view image quality evaluation is one of the key technologies in the system. The characteristic of virtual view image quality evaluation is that most of the virtual view images haven't reference images and can't be assessed using general measures such as PSNR of full-reference. Therefore, this paper proposed a no-reference image quality evaluation method based on image power spectrum. Experimental results show that the proposed method is consistent with PSNR.
