Investigating the Impact of Hyper Parameters on Intrusion Detection system Using Deep Learning Based Data Augmentation

The effects of changing learning rates, data augmentation percentage and numbers of epochs on the performance of Wasserstein Generative Adversarial Networks with Gradient Penalties (WGAN-GP) are evaluated in this study. The purpose of this research is to find out how they affect the data augmentation to enhance stability during training. In this research, the degree of system performance is measured using the Classification Model Utility approach. For this reason, this study aims to determine the interaction between learning rate, augmentation percentage and epoch value when using WGAN-GP to generate synthetic data for the recognition of the system performance. The results will provide the indications on how some of the hyper parameters can be adjusted up or down for having positive or negative consequences on the generation process for further research and use of WGAN-GP. It also provides insights into how the generative model is trained, and how that affects stability and quality of the result in various settings such as image synthesis or other generative tasks. © (2025), (Science and information Organization). Unsupervised Meteorological Downscaling Based on Dual Learning and Subgrid-scale Auxiliary information

Climate downscaling is used to transform large-scale meteorological data into small-scale data with enhanced detail,which finds wide applications in climate modeling,numerical weather forecasting,and renewable *** deeplearning-based downscaling methods effectively capture the complex nonlinear mapping between meteorological data of varying scales,the supervised deep-learning-based downscaling methods suffer from insufficient high-resolution data in practice,and unsupervised methods struggle with accurately inferring small-scale specifics from limited large-scale inputs due to small-scale *** article presents DualDS,a dual-learning framework utilizing a Generative Adversarial Network–based neural network and subgrid-scale auxiliary information for climate *** a learning method is unified in a two-stream framework through up-and downsamplers,where the downsampler is used to simulate the information loss process during the upscaling,and the upsampler is used to reconstruct lost details and correct errors incurred during the *** dual learning strategy can eliminate the dependence on high-resolution ground truth data in the training process and refine the downscaling results by constraining the mapping *** findings demonstrate that DualDS is comparable to several state-of-the-art deep learning downscaling approaches,both qualitatively and ***,for a single surface-temperature data downscaling task,our method is comparable with other unsupervised algorithms with the same dataset,and we can achieve a 0.469 dB higher peak signal-to-noise ratio,0.017 higher structural similarity,0.08 lower RMSE,and the best correlation *** summary,this paper presents a novel approach to addressing small-scale uncertainty issues in unsupervised downscaling processes.

Breast Cancer (BC) remains a significant health challenge for women and is one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide. Accurate diagnosis is critical for successful therapy and increased survival rates. Recent advances in medical imaging and computational technologies have enabled more precise methods of detecting and evaluating breast cancer. Accurate analysis and diagnosis utilizing medical imaging have developed as essential research topics, providing important help in clinical decision-making for various illnesses, including breast cancer. Machine learning (ML) can accurately predict breast cancer. But the breast cancer data has vague and uncertainty information. So, the neutrosophic sets (NSs) are used in this study to deal with uncertainty data. We convert the original dataset into neutrosophic data with three components such as truth, indeterminacy, and falsity values. Then we applied four ML models with N-data such as logistic regression, gradient boosting (GB), k-nearest neighbor (KNN), and support vector machines (SVM), to improve diagnostic accuracy. Then we compared the ML models with and without using N-data. The results show the logistic regression has higher accuracy with 98.6% with the N-data and 95.80% without N-data. Segmentation of brain tumors aids in diagnosing the disease early, planning treatment, and monitoring its progression in medical image analysis. Automation is necessary to eliminate the time and variability associated with traditional segmentation methods. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and U-Net architectures have demonstrated their efficiency and effectiveness in segmenting brain tumors from MRI images using deep learning techniques. The paper presents an improved U-Net-based segmentation algorithm that integrates nested skip paths to improve encoder-decoder feature fusion. The performance of segmentation was optimized by utilizing a variety of activation functions and loss functions, including Dice Loss and Intersection over Union (IoU). A high level of accuracy was demonstrated in the proposed model when it was evaluated using the LGG Segmentation Dataset. The proposed approach for segmenting medical images has been shown to be both robust and efficient in a comparative analysis. © 2025 The Authors

Exploring Immersive Virtual Reality in Higher Education: Research Gap and Future Direction -A Scoping Review

The rapid advancement of technology in the post-COVID-19 era has positioned immersive learning as a transformative approach to enhance educational experiences. Despite its vast potential, recent research developments reveal persistent challenges and gaps that impede widespread adoption. This study conducts a scoping review using the PRISMA methodology to systematically analyze current literature, identify research gaps, seek the challenge, and propose future research directions. From an initial pool of 414 papers, 75 were selected, comprising 60 research studies and 15 review papers. Notably, 55 studies focus on immersive virtual reality (IVR) purely for educational enhancement in traditional academic settings, while 20 explore the implementation of IVR in education with gaming activities. The analysis indicates a predominance of mixed-methods research within education, computer engineering, and computer science. Most studies are limited by short durations (typically 30 minutes) and small participant groups (under 50), raising concerns about the generalizability of findings. Key themes identified include learning context (21 papers), learning design strategies (10 papers), and immersion elements such as avatars and haptic feedback (six papers). While positive impacts like increased satisfaction, motivation, engagement, knowledge enhancement, and usability are reported, negative effects such as motion sickness (13 papers) and dizziness (11 papers) persist. Crucially, only 11 studies exhibit high statistical power, underscoring the need for more robust research designs. Challenges identified encompass participant limitations, homogeneity, user discomfort, hardware unfamiliarity, and cognitive load - all intricately linked to design strategies. Malware detection is one of the critical tasks of cybersecurity, especially considering the growing popularity of mobile devices. The integrity and security of mobile ecosystems rely on the capacity to identify malware quickly and precisely, as security hacks against these devices become increasingly frequent. Due to the requirement for massive volumes of data aggregation, traditional centralized machine learning (ML) techniques for malware detection face challenges with data sharing, computational complexity, and privacy. This research addresses these challenges by proposing a novel model, called "CNN-Fed", which is based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) with Federated Learning (Fed). The main goal of this work is to create a global classifier for Android malware detection that is highly accurate and does not require centralised data aggregation. Using four benchmark datasets—Drebin, Malgenome, Kronodroid, and Tuandromd—the CNN-Fed model is trained across many clients in a federated setting under the suggested architecture. Then we use multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methodology to evaluate the number of clients and number of rounds. We use two MCDM methods such as Entropy methodology to compute the criteria weights and the CoCoSo methodology to rank the alternatives. We use the interval-valued neutrosophic sets (IVNSs) to deal with uncertainty and vague information. We use five criteria such as accuracy, F1-score, precision, recall, and FP and six of alternatives refer to the number of clients and number of rounds. The results show the best alternative has a larger number of clients and rounds. © 2025, University of New Mexico. All rights reserved.
