A wideband wearable antenna using DGS method with bending and wet performance analysis at sub-6 GHz 5G band

In this paper, it introduces a compact (44mm x 50mm) wearable antenna made of fabric that operates within the sub-6 GHz range for 5G New Radio technology. The concept of Defected Ground Structure (DGS) was implemented to achieve wider bandwidth. The antenna relies on a felt textile base with a relative permittivity of 1.45 and a thickness of 3 millimeters. This base is then sandwiched between two layers of a special electrically conductive fabric called “Super shield it” for the ground and radiating planes. This new antenna design offers several advantages over similar wearable antennas for sub-6 GHz 5G. Unlike previous designs, this antenna maintains high performance even when bent or wet, making it more durable for real-world use. Moreover, the simulated bandwidth obtained was 140 MHz (3.42 to 3.56 GHz) at frees space flat condition and measured bandwidth was 1700 MHz which covers n77 and n78 band of the sub-6 GHz. The proposed antenna obtained an overall simulated gain of 2.67 dBi and directivity of 7.15 dBi when placed on the four-layer human phantom. The proposed wearable antenna covered the desired frequency range when subjected to bending, partially wet and fully wet. Lastly, the obtained Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is 0.106 W/Kg which makes the proposed antenna safe to be used for body- centric communication.

Although rice cultivation is one of the most important agricultural sources of methane (CH4) and contributes ∼8% of total global anthropogenic emissions, large discrepancies remain among estimates of global CH4 emissions from rice cultivation (ranging from 18 to 115 Tg CH4 yr−1) due to a lack of observational constraints. The spatial distribution of paddy-rice emissions has been assessed at regional-to-global scales by bottom-up inventories and land surface models over coarse spatial resolution (e.g., > 0.5°) or spatial units (e.g., agro-ecological zones). However, high-resolution CH4 flux estimates capable of capturing the effects of local climate and management practices on emissions, as well as replicating in situ data, remain challenging to produce because of the scarcity of high-resolution maps of paddy-rice and insufficient understanding of CH4 predictors. Here, we combine paddy-rice methane-flux data from 23 global eddy covariance sites and MODIS remote sensing data with machine learning to 1) evaluate data-driven model performance and variable importance for predicting rice CH4 fluxes;and 2) produce gridded up-scaling estimates of rice CH4 emissions at 5000-m resolution across Monsoon Asia, where ∼87% of global rice area is cultivated and ∼ 90% of global rice production occurs. Our random-forest model achieved Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency values of 0.59 and 0.69 for 8-day CH4 fluxes and site mean CH4 fluxes respectively, with land surface temperature, biomass and water-availability-related indices as the most important predictors. We estimate the average annual (winter fallow season excluded) paddy rice CH4 emissions throughout Monsoon Asia to be 20.6 ± 1.1 Tg yr−1 for 2001–2015, which is at the lower range of previous inventory-based estimates (20–32 CH4 Tg yr−1). Our estimates also suggest that CH4 emissions from paddy rice in this region have been declining from 2007 through 2015 following declines in both paddy-rice growing area and emission rates per unit

Computational prediction of the interaction between human leukocyte antigen (HLA) and peptide (pHLA) can speed up epitope screening and vaccine design. Here, we develop the TransMut framework composed of TransPHLA for pHLA binding prediction and AOMP for mutated peptide optimization, which can be generalized to any binding and mutation task of biomolecules. Firstly, TransPHLA is developed by using a Transformer-derived self-attention model to predict pHLA binding, which is significantly superior to 11 previous methods on pHLA binding prediction, neoantigen and human papilloma virus vaccine identification. For vaccine design, the AOMP program is then developed to automatically optimize mutated peptides to search for mutant peptides with higher affinity to the target HLA and with high homology to the source peptide. Among 3660 non-binding pHLAs, 3630 were successfully mutated. Of these, 94% were verified by the IEDB recommended method, and 88% have homology higher than 80% to the source peptide. © 2021, CC BY.

Signal processing has become central to many fields, from coherent optical telecommunications, where it is used to compensate signal impairments, to video image processing. Image processing is particularly important for observational astronomy, medical diagnosis, autonomous driving, big data and artificial intelligence. For these applications, signal processing traditionally has mainly been performed electronically. However these, as well as new applications, particularly those involving real time video image processing, are creating unprecedented demand for ultrahigh performance, including high bandwidth and reduced energy consumption. Here, we demonstrate a photonic signal processor operating at 17 Terabits/s and use it to process video image signals in real-time. The system processes 400,000 video signals concurrently, performing 34 functions simultaneously that are key to object edge detection, edge enhancement and motion blur. As compared with spatial-light devices used for image processing, our system is not only ultra-high speed but highly reconfigurable and programable, able to perform many different functions without any change to the physical hardware. Our approach is based on an integrated Kerr soliton crystal microcomb, and opens up new avenues for ultrafast robotic vision and machine learning. © The Author(s) 2023.

Berkah Mart is one of the new minimarkets in Pekanbaru city which began to develop as a retail business to meet the needs of the community. In his operation, Berkah Mart still uses the traditional store management perception that the placement of product layout on sale shelves has not been through sales analysis. Existing products have not been reviewed from the consumer's point of view, whereas the marketing economics concept provides a variety of product and consumer management methods for business management in Berkah Mart, including market bucket analysis techniques and various itemset search algorithms. In this research, Market Basket Basket Analysis with FP-Growth algorithm is proposed to determine the layout and planning of goods availability. The application of FP-Growth algorithm proved to be useful in generating many and informative association rules to find out the consumer spending pattern at Berkah Mart in Pekanbaru. Moreover, from the rules of the customer association can be segmented separately to meet the specific needs of customers with cost-effective by using some special promotions for the general group. The experimental results show that FP-Growth algorithm can analyze quickly and efficiently informing consumer shopping pattern at Berkah Mart and can increase Berkah Mart revenue.

Fuzzy cognitive map reconstruction - dynamics vs. History

This study is concerned with a fundamental issue of time series representation for modeling and prediction with Fuzzy Cognitive Maps. We introduce two distinct time series representation schemes for Fuzzy Cognitive Map design. First method is based on time series amplitude, amplitude change, and change of amplitude change (dynamics perspective). Second scheme is based on three consecutive historical observations: present value, past value and before past value (history perspective). Introduced procedures are experimentally verified and compared on several synthetic and real-world time series of various characteristics. The history-oriented time series representation turned out to be more advantageous. Quality of FCM-based time series models and one-step-ahead predictions were measured in terms of Mean Squared Error. We have shown that models designed with history-oriented time series representation generally require less FCM nodes to be of comparable quality as models built on dynamics-oriented time series representation. As a result, with the history-oriented time series representation scheme we are able to construct simpler and therefore better models.

Automatic data understanding: The tool for intelligent man-machine communication

The paper is focused on man-machine communication, which is perceived in terms of data exchange. Understanding of data being exchanged is the fundamental property of intelligent communication. The main objective of this paper is to introduce the paradigm of intelligent data understanding. The paradigm stems from syntactic and semantic characterization of data and is soundly based on the paradigm of granular structuring of data and computation. The paper does not introduce a formal theory of intelligent data understanding. Instead this paradigm as well as notions of granularity, semantics and syntax are cast on the domain of music information. The domain immersion is forced by heavy dependence of details of the paradigm of automatic data understanding on application in a given domain.
