This paper proposes a new hybrid algorithm, combining FA, SSO, and the N-R method to accelerate convergence towards global optima, named the Hybrid Firefly Algorithm and Sperm Swarm Optimization with Newton-Raphson (HFASSON). The performance of HFASSON is evaluated using 23 benchmark functions from the CEC 2017 suite, tested in 30, 50, and 100 dimensions. A statistical comparison is performed to assess the effectiveness of HFASSON against FA, SSO, HFASSO, and five hybrid algorithms: Water Cycle Moth Flame Optimization (WCMFO), Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization and Genetic Algorithm (HPSOGA), Hybrid Sperm Swarm Optimization and Gravitational Search Algorithm (HSSOGSA), Grey Wolf and Cuckoo Search Algorithm (GWOCS), and Hybrid Firefly Genetic Algorithm (FAGA). Results from the Friedman rank test show the superior performance of HFASSON. Additionally, HFASSON is applied to Cognitive Radio Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (CR-VANET), outperforming basic CR-VANET in spectrum utilization. Multipath signal recognition is crucial to the ability to provide high-precision absolute-position services by the BeiDou Navigation Satellite system(BDS).However,most existing approaches to this issue involve supervised machine learning(ML)methods,and it is difficult to move to unsupervised multipath signal recognition because of the limitations in signal *** by an autoencoder with powerful unsupervised feature extraction,we propose a new deep learning(DL)model for BDS signal recognition that places a long short-term memory(LSTM)module in series with a convolutional sparse autoencoder to create a new autoencoder ***,we propose to capture the temporal correlations in long-duration BeiDou satellite time-series signals by using the LSTM module to mine the temporal change patterns in the time ***,we develop a convolutional sparse autoencoder method that learns a compressed representation of the input data,which then enables downscaled and unsupervised feature extraction from long-duration BeiDou satellite series ***,we add an l_(1/2) regularizer to the objective function of our DL model to remove redundant neurons from the neural network while ensuring recognition *** tested our proposed approach on a real urban canyon dataset,and the results demonstrated that our algorithm could achieve better classification performance than two ML-based methods(e.g.,11%better than a support vector machine)and two existing DL-based methods(e.g.,7.26%better than convolutional neural networks).

Large Language Models (LLM) is a type of artificial neural network that excels at language-related tasks. The advantages and disadvantages of using LLM in software engineering are still being debated, but it is a tool that can be utilized in software engineering. This study aimed to analyze LLM studies in software engineering using bibliometric and content analysis. The study data were retrieved from Web of Science and Scopus. The data were analyzed using two popular bibliometric approaches: bibliometric and content analysis. VOS Viewer and Bibliometrix software were used to conduct the bibliometric analysis. The bibliometric analysis was performed using science mapping and performance analysis approaches. Various bibliometric data, including the most frequently referenced publications, journals, and nations, were evaluated and presented. Then, the synthetic knowledge method was utilized for content analysis. This study examined 235 papers, with 836 authors contributing. The publications were published in 123 different journals. The average number of citations per publication is 1.44. Most publications were published in Proceedings International Conference on Software Engineering and ACM International Conference Proceeding Series, with China and the United States emerging as the leading countries. It was discovered that international collaboration on the issue was inadequate. The most often used keywords in the publications were "software design," "code (symbols)," and "code generation." Following the content analysis, three themes emerged: 1) Integration of LLM into software engineering education, 2) application of LLM in software engineering, and 3) potential and limitation of LLM in software engineering. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) are developing so fast that they can bring revolutionary changes in ecological sustainability, public health, and community welfare. In contrast, the present waste management system has a set of inefficiencies due to some challenges, such as poor waste stream segregation, limited real-time data analysis, and negligible integration of recent technology. These challenges lead to environmental degradation, public health hazards, and inefficient usage of resources. This research targets these challenges by designing an IWM framework like AI-IoT for smart waste management. The system employs AI models powered by IoT sensors for efficient waste collection, classification, and optimization of recycling schedules. CNN (convolutional neural networks) with transfer learning enabled by Res-Net provides high-accuracy image recognition, which can be used for waste classification. Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) allow multilingual users to interact and communicate properly in any linguistic environment. Data collected from IoT-enabled smart bins is transmitted in real-time to a central control system for dynamic decision-making and follow-up analysis. A pilot exercise to verify the system's effectiveness was implemented in metropolitan settings to show the transformation: landfill dependency was decreased by 30 %, recycling efficiency was greatly increased to 90 %, and thus the cost of waste management was optimized. At the same time, environmental health inequity, causing pathogen-related threats, was reduced by 35 %. The model has an accuracy of 96.8 %. The features of the proposed framework not only provide solutions to the existing inefficiencies but also enhance scalability, cost-effectiveness, and global environmental standardization. The rapid advancement of deepfake technology has introduced significant challenges and opportunities across various domains. This article proposes a robust deepfake detection pipeline utilising a combination of attention mechanisms, pre-trained Vision Transformers (ViTs), and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks. The initial phase of the pipeline involves preparing photos and videos, potentially using optional facial detection to enhance accuracy. Vision Transformers derive features by capturing the global dependencies of input data. Long short-term memory (LSTM) networks address inter-frame temporal dependencies, whereas multi-head and traditional attention processes focus on essential elements. Ultimately, fully connected layers are employed for classification within the ensemble architecture, which consolidates the outcomes of several models. To ensure generalisability, assessment and regularisation approaches are employed to train the model using labelled datasets. Given the escalating threat of deepfakes, the findings indicate that the pipeline can consistently distinguish between genuine and fabricated information. © 2025 The Authors

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFD-M) has been widely used in modern communication networks. Notice that OFDM typically relies on (inverse) Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT/IDFT) for processing its waveforms. In this context, we propose a deep learning-based OFDM receiver that uses a deep complex-valued convolutional neural network (DC-CNN) to recover the information bit stream from synchronized time-domain signals without relying on DFT/IDFT. Specifically, a learned linear transform is designed to utilize the cyclic prefix (CP) of OFDM waveforms instead of DFT/IDFT, which presents the ability of DCCNN for complex communication waveforms. To improve the convergence of the training model for the DCCNN-based receiver, a novel transfer learning scheme is developed to train channel equalization and demodulation in two phases. In addition, both the DCCNN equalizer and DCCNN demodulator are trained and tested at different SNRs for Rayleigh fading and noise, and a mixed multiple fading channel model with various delay spreads is utilized to smooth the training loss. Simulation results suggest that our developed DCCNN channel estimator outperforms conventional estimators such as least square (LS), linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) and low-rank approximation of LMMSE (ALMMSE) in multipath Rayleigh fading models with varying Doppler spreads and delay spreads.

This research examines the effectiveness of nitrogen annealing and Nafion treatment in mitigating Light and Elevated Temperature Induced Degradation (LeTID) in Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact (PERC) solar cells, employing a 30-kW photovoltaic (PV) system for evaluation. As a photosensitive device, solar cells are susceptible to damage from laser irradiation, leading to reduced photoelectric conversion efficiency, structural damage, and functional loss. To minimize this loss, nitrogen annealing and Nafion treatments were applied, followed by the analysis of LeTID effects on untreated, Nafion-treated, and combined nitrogen-annealed and Nafion-treated PERC cells. Untreated cells showed an 8 % fall in open-circuit voltage (Voc) and a 7 % fill factor (FF) loss. The combined treatment (Combination of Nitrogen & Nafion Treatment) improved stability, reducing losses to 6 % in Voc and 5 % in FF. The Nafion treatment yielded the best results, limiting deterioration to 4 % in Voc and 3 % in FF. PVsyst simulations, incorporating real-world data, confirmed enhanced stability and efficiency, aiding in optimizing PV system design and maintenance. © 2025 Korean Physical Society

In this study, we aim to enhance the efficiency of p-type tunnel oxide passivated contact (p-TOPCon) solar cells by improving charge carrier extraction while achieving higher fill factor (FF) and open circuit voltage (Voc). We explore various potential methods for the photovoltaic industrial procedure, including optimizing metallization patterns and techniques, such as the utilization of a high efficiency grid pattern (HEGP) in place of the conventional straight finger-line pattern (SFLP). Co-firing conditions, peak firing temperature, and belt speed are investigated for their impact on FF enhancement, along with evaluating the effects of single and double print processes. Furthermore, we examine the efficacy of Nafion treatment as a surface modification technique to enhance FF. Experimental results indicate that optimizing co-firing conditions and employing Nafion treatment significantly increased FF to approximately 83.26% in p-TOPCon solar cells. Adjusting peak firing temperature and belt speed, as well as implementing the double print process, demonstrate superior FF enhancement compared to the single print process. Additionally, Nafion treatment contributes to FF improvement by passivating surface defects and enhancing charge carrier collection. Overall, this study provides valuable insights into optimizing co-firing conditions and surface treatment techniques to enhance p-TOPCon solar cell efficiency (Eff) up to 23.50%, thus advancing high-efficiency photovoltaic technology. © 2024 The Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry

This paper models a platooning system consisting of trucks and a third-party service provider (TPSP), which performs platoon coordination, distributes the platooning profit in platoons, and charges trucks in exchange for the services. Government subsidies used to incentivize platooning are also considered. We propose a pricing rule for the TPSP, which keeps part of the platooning profit including the subsidy each time a platoon is formed. In addition, a platoon coordination solution based on the distributed model predictive control (MPC) is proposed, in which the pricing rule under government subsidies is integrated. We perform a realistic simulation over the Swedish road network to evaluate the impact of the pricing rule and subsidies on the achieved profits and fuel savings. Our results show that subsidies are an effective mean to boost fuel savings from platooning. Moreover, the simulation study indicates that high pricing corresponds to a low platooning rate of the system, as trucks' incentives for platooning decrease. © 2023 The Authors. Urban traffic flow management faces increasing challenges due to accelerating urbanization. Traffic data collected from roadside sensors contain complex temporal and spatial dependencies that interact simultaneously. Although Graph Neural Networks and Recurrent Neural Networks have been successful in capturing these dependencies, two critical issues remain: 1) Treating all traffic signals equally fails to capture the nuanced spatiotemporal dependencies hidden in time series data; 2) Dynamic traffic conditions hinder the accurate capture of local spatial dependencies, thereby limiting prediction accuracy and reliability. To address these challenges, we propose an innovative model, FDDSGCN. To resolve the first issue, we introduce Fractional Residual Decomposition, which effectively separates traffic data into spatial and temporal signals. For the second issue, we employ Dynamic Spatial-Temporal Graph Convolution with fractional-order weight adjustments to dynamically capture local dependencies. Additionally, the Long Short-Term Dependency module analyzes both long-term and short-term dependencies. Extensive experiments on three public datasets demonstrate the superior performance and practical value of our model.
