CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) has fast become a key to produce 3D images in orthodontic and maxilla-facial surgery. Our purpose in this study is to develop a new approach for automatic localization of the region of supraorbital and infraorbital foramina using CBCT images. 19 CBCT images of Moroccan patients were used to validate the proposed algorithm. The automatic algorithm is based on geometric and anatomic information of maxillo-facial structures. The local priori information of supraorbital and infraorbital foramina was used to design the automatic algorithm. The detection rate for supraorbital foramina was 90% and 85% for right and left sides respectively, while the detection rate for infraorbital foramina was 79% and 74% for right and left sides respectively. This study has shown the relevance of local criteria such as geometric and anatomic knowledge in the automation of localization of supraorbital and infraorbital region. This work has gone some way towards the automation of morphometric and anthropometric measurements using CBCT images. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.

A queuing analysis based on Internet traffic measurements is provided. First a finite-size Pareto queuing model for the heavy-tailed behavior of Internet flow traffic is presented. The derivation of the flow blocking probability with a finite buffer based on Internet flow traffic is provided. The flow blocking probability is given as a function of the buffer size, system load and parameter /spl alpha/ of the measured flow duration distribution. These results are very useful for design trade-off of admission control algorithm or general network engineering where heavy tail phenomenon exists. In addition the behavior of the Internet consecutive packet loss duration (outage duration) is studied. The implicit relationship between heavy tail flow duration and heavy tail outage duration is identified in the queuing aspect.

The article discusses the concept of knowledge management, which can be used as a methodological basis for the development of new educational programs. The ontology of the educational program is built based on the content of the educational program for the subject area "computer Science"of the bachelor's educational level. A formal model of the domain ontology is given. It is shown that the structure of ontologies is a conceptualized representation of the subject area, similar to the structure of a concept map, which is a successful method of meaningful learning. To build the ontology of accreditation of the educational program, domains of the discipline;educational program;institution domain;and accreditation domain are considered. The developed ontology can improve Educational Program development management and ensure successful accreditation © 2020 IEEE.

This paper presents an effective machine learning-based depth selection algorithm for CTU(Coding Tree Unit)in HEVC(High Efficiency Video Coding).Existing machine learning methods are limited in their ability in handling the initial depth decision of CU(Coding Unit)and selecting the proper set of input features for the depth selection *** this paper,we first propose a new classification approach for the initial division depth *** particular,we study the correlation of the texture complexity,QPs(quantization parameters)and the depth decision of the CUs to forecast the original partition depth of the current ***,we further aim to determine the input features of the classifier by analysing the correlation between depth decision of the CUs,picture distortion and the *** the found relationships,we also study a decision method for the end partition depth of the current CUs using bit-rate and picture distortion as ***,we formulate the depth division of the CUs as a binary classification problem and use the nearest neighbor classifier to conduct *** proposed method can significantly improve the efficiency of interframe coding by circumventing the traversing cost of the division *** shows that the mentioned method can reduce the time spent by 34.56%compared to HM-16.9 while keeping the partition depth of the CUs correct.

Online Computation Offloading and Trajectory Scheduling for UAV-Enabled Wireless Powered Mobile Edge Computing

The unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)-enabled mobile edge computing(MEC) architecture is expected to be a powerful technique to facilitate 5 G and beyond ubiquitous wireless connectivity and diverse vertical applications and services, anytime and anywhere. Wireless power transfer(WPT) is another promising technology to prolong the operation time of low-power wireless devices in the era of Internet of Things(IoT). However, the integration of WPT and UAV-enabled MEC systems is far from being well studied, especially in dynamic environments. In order to tackle this issue, this paper aims to investigate the stochastic computation offloading and trajectory scheduling for the UAV-enabled wireless powered MEC system. A UAV offers both RF wireless power transmission and computation services for IoT devices. Considering the stochastic task arrivals and random channel conditions, a long-term average energyefficiency(EE) minimization problem is *** to non-convexity and the time domain coupling of the variables in the formulated problem, a lowcomplexity online computation offloading and trajectory scheduling algorithm(OCOTSA) is proposed by exploiting Lyapunov optimization. Simulation results verify that there exists a balance between EE and the service delay, and demonstrate that the system EE performance obtained by the proposed scheme outperforms other benchmark schemes.

In recent years,wireless networks are widely used in different *** phenomenon has increased the number of Internet of Things(IoT)devices and their *** IoT has numerous advantages,the commonly-used IoT devices are exposed to cyber-attacks *** scenario necessitates real-time automated detection and the mitigation of different types of attacks in high-traffic *** Software-Defined Networking(SDN)technique and the Machine Learning(ML)-based intrusion detection technique are effective tools that can quickly respond to different types of attacks in the IoT *** Intrusion Detection system(IDS)models can be employed to secure the SDN-enabled IoT environment in this *** current study devises a Harmony Search algorithmbased Feature Selection with Optimal Convolutional Autoencoder(HSAFSOCAE)for intrusion detection in the SDN-enabled IoT *** presented HSAFS-OCAE method follows a three-stage process in which the Harmony Search Algorithm-based FS(HSAFS)technique is exploited at first for feature ***,the CAE method is leveraged to recognize and classify intrusions in the SDN-enabled IoT ***,the Artificial Fish SwarmAlgorithm(AFSA)is used to fine-tune the *** process improves the outcomes of the intrusion detection process executed by the CAE algorithm and shows the work’s *** proposed HSAFSOCAE technique was experimentally validated under different aspects,and the comparative analysis results established the supremacy of the proposed model.

In this paper, we investigate heterogeneous multiscale method （HMM） for the optimal control problem with distributed control constraints governed by elliptic equations with highly oscillatory coefficients. The state variable and co-state variable are approximated by the multiscale discretization scheme that relies on coupled macro and micro finite elements, whereas the control variable is discretized by the piecewise constant. By applying the well- known Lions＇ Lemma to the discretized optimal control problem, we obtain the necessary and sufficient optimality conditions. A priori error estimates in both L^2 and H^1 norms are derived for the state, co-state and the control variable with uniform bound constants. Finally, numerical examples are presented to illustrate our theoretical results.

The inappropriate use of antibiotics leads to antibiotic resistance, which is a major health care problem. The current method for determination of bacterial susceptibility to antibiotics requires overnight cultures. However most of the infections cannot wait for the results to receive treatment, so physicians administer general spectrum antibiotics. This results in ineffective treatments and aggravates the rising problem of antibiotic resistance. In this work, a rapid method for diagnosis and antibiogram for a bacterial infection was developed using Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) with silver nanoparticles. The advantages of this novel method include its rapidness and efficiency which will potentially allow doctors to prescribe the most appropriate antibiotic for an infection. SERS spectra of three species of gram negative bacteria, Escherichia coli, Proteus spp., and Klebsiella spp. were obtained after 0 and 4 hour exposure to the seven different antibiotics. Bacterial strains were diluted in order to reach the concentration of (2×105 cfu/ml), cells/ml which is equivalent to the minimum concentration found in urine samples from UTIs. Even though the concentration of bacteria was low, species classification was achieved with 94% accuracy using spectra obtained at 0 hours. Sensitivity or resistance to antibiotics was predicted with 81%-100% accuracy from spectra obtained after 4 hours of exposure to the different antibiotics. This technique can be applied directly to urine samples, and with the enhancement provided by SERS, this method has the potential to be developed into a rapid method for same day UTI diagnosis and antibiogram. © 2013 OSA-SPIE.

Using OFDM and space-time coding to achieve asynchronous cooperative diversity has been proposed by Mei et. al. [13] and Shin et al [14], where orthogonal space-time block codes, Alamouti code in particular, were used at relay nodes. This proposed space-time coding can not achieve the multipath diversity when the channels from nodes to nodes are frequency selective fading. In this paper, we also consider asynchronous cooperative communications where the channels are assumed to be frequency-selective fading. We design high rate distributed space-frequency codes to achieve both full asynchronous cooperative diversity and multipath diversities. © 2006 IEEE.
