Weed management is a crucial aspect of modern agriculture as invasive plants can negatively impact crop yields and profitability. Long-established methods of weed control, such as manual labor and synthetic herbicides, have been widely used but come with their own set of challenges. These methods are often time-consuming, labor-intensive, and pose environmental *** have been the primary method of weed control due to their efficiency and cost-effectiveness. However, over-reliance on herbicides has led to environmental contamination, weed resistance, and potential health hazards. To address these issues, researchers and industry experts are now exploring the integration of machine learning into chemical weed management strategies. As technology advances, there is a growing interest in exploring innovative and sustainable weed management approaches. This review examines the potential of machine learning in chemical weed *** learning offers innovative and sustainable approaches by analyzing large data sets, recognizing patterns, and making accurate *** learning models can classify weed species and optimize herbicide usage. Real-time monitoring enables timely intervention, preventing invasive species spread. Integrating machine learning into chemical weed management holds promise for enhancing agricultural practices, reducing herbicide usage and minimizing environmental impact. Validation and refinement of these algorithms are needed for practical application.

With the development of IoT technology, various kinds of data are generated by IoT devices. Some of this data contains information on geographical location and time. We refer to such data as spatio-temporal data (STD). Since the 'local production and consumption' of STD is effective for location-dependent applications, we have proposed an STD retention system that utilizes vehicles as data sources. STD sources ranges from simple sensory data to large video data. However, since previous methods assumed to retain an STD consisting of only one packet, retention of large STD sources may suffer from frequent packet collisions due to the increase in the number of packet transmissions. In this paper, we propose a data completeness-aware transmission control mechanism for large STD retention. Our simulation results showed that the proposed scheme reduces channel collision by suppressing the forwarding of incomplete data, and achieved a nearly 100% coverage rate. © 2022 IEEE.

The world faces a rapidly spreading of COVID19 globally, for several countries around the world mitigating the consequences and spread of the pandemic remains a top priority. Researchers work to find a smart and rational solution to limit the spread of this epidemic and its repercussions. The goal of this research is to produce an early and accurate COVID-19 prediction, as well as a comparative analysis of the performance of several machine learning (ML) models based on patient vital signs, dataset balancing, and feature selection. The cases dataset was provided by King Fahad Hospital University in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The current study used the WEKA 3.8.5 and Python programming language (SKLEARN) to decide which method generated the highest level of accuracy while using fewer features. Random forest with grid search (RF with grid search), Artificial Neural networks (ANN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), J48, XGB Classifier, and XGB Classifier with grid search were the techniques that were compared. The highest level of accuracy obtained with seven features was 84% achieved with the RF using grid search technique, while ANN, SVM, RF, J48, XGB Classifier, and XGB Classifier with grid search obtained 82.85%, 79%, 82.93%, 82.5%,82.21%, and 83.4% accuracy, respectively. © 2022 IEEE.

Sign language serves as a vital medium of communication for the Deaf and dumb people. We present a real-time system to translate ASL into text, addressing the communication gap between deaf and dumb people and normal people. Our system leverages computer vision and machine learning techniques to accurately recognize ASL gestures. In this study, we introduce a convolutional neural network (CNN) and (LSTM) approaches designed to identify hand gestures associated with human actions as captured through images from cameras. By utilizing the hand's spatial positioning and orientation, we construct the training and testing datasets for the CNN-LSTM model, we were used 4680 skeleton images of the ASL alphabet, from A to Z as a dataset. The hand image undergoes an initial filtering process followed by classification, where a classifier determines the classification of the hand gesture. Subsequently, the refined images are harnessed to train the CNN-LSTM model. Our real-time system provides accurate and reliable results in real-time 99.9%, in addition to generating new datasets that are processed and can be trained on any model.

Wind turbines are widely used across the globe as a primary means of renewable energy by using the power of wind, it converts kinetic energy into electrical energy, contributing to generating electricity. However, turbines are positioned far from control centers, operating in environments that continuously change and have uncontrollable factors and conditions lead to wind turbine failures. The proposed method using an Improved Sparrow Search Algorithm (ISSA) optimizer along with also used a Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier helps to detect the faults in turbines. This method uses the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) dataset for wind turbine fault detection, the optimization using ISSA which is improved by Uniformity Diversity Orientation Strategy (UDOS) to optimize model's internal parameters. This helps to learn pattern during training period and helps to classify the normal and fault patterns. Then in the SVM classification process using the parameters this compares the obtained values with the current fitness value to classify patterns. The performance of the ISSA is analyzed by using accuracy, precision, f1-score, and recall. This shows that the proposed method outperforms existing methods such as K Nearest Neighbors (KNN), stacking classifier, and Feature Simplification Random Forest (FS-RF) in terms of accuracy 98.78%, precision 98.97%, recall 98.24%, and f1-score 98.00%. © 2024 IEEE.

Plant disease recognition is of vital importance to monitor plant development and predicting crop ***,due to data degradation caused by different conditions of image acquisition,e.g.,laboratory *** environment,machine learning-based recognition models generated within a specific dataset(source domain)tend to lose their validity when generalized to a novel dataset(target domain).To this end,domain adaptation methods can be leveraged for the recognition by learning invariant representations across *** this paper,we aim at addressing the issues of domain shift existing in plant disease recognition and propose a novel unsupervised domain adaptation method via uncertainty regularization,namely,Multi-Representation Subdomain Adaptation Network with Uncertainty Regularization for Cross-Species Plant Disease Classification(MSUN).Our simple but effective MSUN makes a breakthrough in plant disease recognition in the wild by using a large amount of unlabeled data and via nonadversarial ***,MSUN comprises multirepresentation,subdomain adaptation modules and auxiliary uncertainty *** multirepresentation module enables MSUN to learn the overall structure of features and also focus on capturing more details by using the multiple representations of the source *** effectively alleviates the problem of large interdomain *** adaptation is used to capture discriminative properties by addressing the issue of higher interclass similarity and lower intraclass ***,the auxiliary uncertainty regularization effectively suppresses the uncertainty problem due to domain *** was experimentally validated to achieve optimal results on the PlantDoc,Plant-Pathology,Corn-Leaf-Diseases,and Tomato-Leaf-Diseases datasets,with accuracies of 56.06%,72.31%,96.78%,and 50.58%,respectively,surpassing other state-of-the-art domain adaptation techniques considerably.

Cloud-based energy management systems (EMS) in smart grids face privacy challenges, as existing methods based on traditional homomorphic encryption support limited operations and are vulnerable to quantum attacks. We propose a privacy preservation method for smart grid energy management system, leveraging edge-assisted computing and ring learning with errors (RLWE) homomorphic encryption. Our approach enables both addition and multiplication operations on encrypted smart grid data while defending against quantum threats. We demonstrate the methods security under the RLWE hardness assumption and validate its effectiveness through an experimental platform simulating smart grid environments. This work addresses computational limitations in current privacy-preserving techniques, enhancing data security for evolving smart grid technologies © 2010-2012 IEEE.

The Internet of Things (IoT) devices have been deployed to realize smart environments such as smart cities, smart homes, smart health and smart grids. In these domains, the IoT devices collect and forward high volumes of sensitive and private data. It is therefore important that security schemes be developed to protect the exchanged data. In this regard, a myriad of authentication protocols have been developed over the recent past. However, these schemes deploy cryptographic primitives that result in extremely high communication, storage and computation complexities. In addition, some of these protocols still have numerous security and privacy issues that render them unsuitable for deployment in an IoT environment. For instance, untraceability, anonymity, key escrow problems and attack vectors such as de-synchronization and forgery attacks are frequently ignored. In this paper, a transient session key derivation protocol is developed to address some of these security and efficiency challenges. The security analysis executed shows that this protocol offers untraceability, device anonymity and perfect forward key secrecy. In addition, it is robust against de-synchronization, known secret key leakage, eavesdropping and forgery attacks. In terms of operational efficiency, this protocol incurs the lowest computation and communication complexities. © 2023, ICST Institute for computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Sharing the hardware platform between diverse information systems to establish full cooperation among different functionalities has attracted substantial ***,broadband multifunctional integrated systems with large operating frequency ranges are challenging due to the bandwidth and computing speed restrictions of electronic ***,we report an analog parallel processor(APP)based on the silicon photonic platform that directly discretizes and parallelizes the broadband signal in the analog *** APP first discretizes the signal with the optical frequency comb and then adopts optical dynamic phase interference to reassign the analog signal into 2N parallel *** photonic analog parallelism,data rate and data volume in each sequence are simultaneously compressed,which mitigates the requirement on each parallel computing ***,the fusion of the outputs from each computing core is equivalent to directly processing broadband *** the proof-of-concept experiment,two-channel analog parallel processing of broadband radar signals and high-speed communication signals is implemented on the single photonic integrated *** bandwidth of broadband radar signal is 6 GHz and the range resolution of 2.69 cm is *** wireless communication rate of 8 Gbit/s is also *** the bandwidth and speed limitations of the single-computing core along with further exploring the multichannel potential of this architecture,we anticipate that the proposed APP will accelerate the development of powerful optoelectronic processors as critical support for applications such as satellite networks and intelligent driving.

Stroke is a life-threatening disease usually due to blockage of blood or insufficient blood flow to the *** has a tremendous impact on every aspect of life since it is the leading global factor of disability and *** can range from minor to severe(extensive).Thus,early stroke assessment and treatment can enhance survival *** prediction is extremely time and resource *** prediction methods such as Modern Information and Communication Technologies(ICTs),particularly those inMachine Learning(ML)area,are crucial for the early diagnosis and prognosis of ***,this research proposed an ensemble voting model based on three Machine Learning(ML)algorithms:Random Forest(RF),Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost),and Light Gradient Boosting Machine(LGBM).We apply data preprocessing to manage the outliers and useless instances in the ***,to address the problem of imbalanced data,we enhance the minority class’s representation using the Synthetic Minority Over-Sampling Technique(SMOTE),allowing it to engage in the learning process *** reveal that the suggested model outperforms existing studies and other classifiers with 0.96%accuracy,0.97%precision,0.97%recall,and 0.96%*** experiment demonstrates that the proposed ensemble voting model outperforms state-of-the-art and other traditional approaches.
