Survival Analysis of Kasturi Tobacco Plants in Jember District using the Stratified Cox and Extended Cox Models

In 2022, tobacco was the top export commodity, generating $106.3 million in sales. East Java Province contributes significantly to Indonesia's tobacco production, with an annual output of 188.6 thousand tons. Jember Regency is the area in East Java Province which is a Kasturi tobacco cultivation area. The productivity of Kasturi tobacco continues to decrease due to several factors that can affect the survival of the tobacco. This study aims to analyze the survival of Kasturi tobacco by creating stratified Cox and extended Cox models in order to handle factors that cannot fulfill the proportional hazard assumption. Based on the results of the analysis, the stratified Cox model is the best model with AIC and BIC values of 798.108 and 805.5748 respectively, while the extended Cox has AIC and BIC values of 840.2186 and 850.1732 respectively. Variables that can significantly affect the survival of Kasturi tobacco are the variable concentration of ZA fertilizer, pesticide concentration. The addition of ZA fertilizer must be appropriate, because if excessive it can cause poisoning of tobacco plants. Likewise with pesticides, if excessive it will cause damage to the leaves. This policy can increase the productivity of Kasturi tobacco. Then, Jember Regency contributes greater export capacity. • This paper aims to determine the factors that affect the survival of Kasturi tobacco plants in Jember • By using the extended Cox model, the best one is obtained using the Heaviside function with AIC and BIC values of 840.2186 and 850.1732, respectively • The stratified Cox model is better than the extended Cox model, which has AIC and BIC values of 798.108 and 805.5748, respectively

Geological reports, as crucial technical documents reflecting the outcomes of geological survey work, encapsulate extensive expert and domain knowledge. Geological knowledge graphs integrate vast amounts of data, facilitating efficient and rapid extraction of knowledge embedded within geoscientific data. The extraction of geological entity relations is a key method in creating these knowledge graphs. Existing techniques for extracting geological entities and their relations encounter difficulties such entity overlap, relation overlap, and the challenge of obtaining deep semantic information because of the vastness and complexity of geological data. Our study suggests a collaborative extraction model for entity relations that integrates dependency syntactic relations with a graph convolutional network (GCN) in order to address these problems. This model learns dependency syntactic structures and deep semantic information by building a GCN that includes dependency syntactic relations. A pointer network decoder is then added to increase entity relation extraction efficiency. Dependencies between words in a phrase, such as subject-verb and verb-object relations, are revealed via dependency syntactic analysis. By structuring these dependencies into a graph, the model captures syntactic structural information. Through operations involving adjacency matrices and feature matrices, the model effectively propagates and aggregates node information, thereby capturing the global dependency syntactic structure and deep semantic information of sentences. The integration of dependency syntactic relations with GCN processing enables the model to more accurately comprehend entity relations within sentences. Results from experiments show that this model successfully tackles problems like overlapping entity relations and the challenge of gleaning deep semantic information from geological texts. It achieves a 79.73% accuracy rate and a 77.98% F1 score on geological text datasets. © 2025

Robust tube-based MPC with smooth computation for dexterous robot manipulation

Dexterous robot manipulation has shone in complex industrial scenarios, where multiple manipulators, or fingers, cooperate to grasp and manipulate objects. When encountering multi-objective optimization with system constraints in such scenarios, model predictive control(MPC) has demonstrated exceptional performance in complex multi-robot manipulation tasks involving multi-objective optimization with system constraints. However, in such scenarios, the substantial computational load required to solve the optimal control problem(OCP) at each triggering instant can lead to significant delays between state sampling and control application, hindering real-time performance. To address these challenges, this paper introduces a novel robust tube-based smooth MPC approach for two fundamental manipulation tasks: reaching a given target and tracking a reference trajectory. By predicting the successor state as the initial condition for imminent OCP solving, we can solve the forthcoming OCP ahead of time, alleviating delay effects. Additionally,we establish an upper bound for linearizing the original nonlinear system, reducing OCP complexity and enhancing response speed. Grounded in tube-based MPC theory, the recursive feasibility and closed-loop stability amidst constraints and disturbances are ensured. Empirical validation is provided through two numerical simulations and two real-world dexterous robot manipulation tasks, which shows that the seamless control input by our methods can effectively enhance the solving efficiency and control performance when compared to conventional time-triggered MPC strategies.

A hybrid memory architecture supporting fine-grained data migration

Performance analysis of RAID for different communication mechanism between RAID controller and string controllers

A Stochastic Petri Nets (SPN) model of the orthogonal RAID is constructed. After analyzing the performance of the system we can see that the performance of the system has the relationship with the choice of communication mechanism, which is the polling mechanism or interrupt mechanism, between the RAID controller and the string controllers. The faster the rate of the ''Go to Communication'' transition in the SPN, the higher the average utilization of the string controller, and the better the performance of RAID. The rate is larger under the polling mechanism than that under the interrupt mechanism in RAID. Thus, the polling mechanism between the RAID controller and the string controllers should be adopted to improve the performance of RAID.

Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) has been considered a key feature of next-generation wireless networks. This paper investigates the joint design of the radar receive filter and dual-functional transmit waveform for the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) ISAC system. While optimizing the mean square error (MSE) of the radar receive spatial response and maximizing the achievable rate at the communication receiver, besides the constraints of full-power radar receiving filter and unimodular transmit sequence, we control the maximum range sidelobe level, which is often overlooked in existing ISAC waveform design literature, for better radar imaging performance. To solve the formulated optimization problem with convex and nonconvex constraints, we propose an inexact augmented Lagrangian method (ALM) algorithm. For each subproblem in the proposed inexact ALM algorithm, we custom-design a block successive upper-bound minimization (BSUM) scheme with closed-form solutions for all blocks of variable to enhance the computational efficiency. Convergence analysis shows that the proposed algorithm is guaranteed to provide a stationary and feasible solution. Extensive simulations are performed to investigate the impact of different system parameters on communication and radar imaging performance. Continual Test-Time Adaptation for Single Image Defocus Deblurring via Causal Siamese Networks

Single image defocus deblurring (SIDD) aims to restore an all-in-focus image from a defocused one. Distribution shifts in defocused images generally lead to performance degradation of existing methods during out-of-distribution inferences. In this work, we gauge the intrinsic reason behind the performance degradation, which is identified as the heterogeneity of lens-specific point spread functions. Empirical evidence supports this finding, motivating us to employ a continual test-time adaptation (CTTA) paradigm for SIDD. However, traditional CTTA methods, which primarily rely on entropy minimization, cannot sufficiently explore task-dependent information for pixel-level regression tasks like SIDD. To address this issue, we propose a novel Siamese networks-based continual test-time adaptation framework, which adapts source models to continuously changing target domains only requiring unlabeled target data in an online manner. To further mitigate semantically erroneous textures introduced by source SIDD models under severe degradation, we revisit the learning paradigm through a structural causal model and propose Causal Siamese networks (CauSiam). Our method leverages large-scale pre-trained vision-language models to derive discriminative universal semantic priors and integrates these priors into Siamese networks, ensuring causal identifiability between blurry inputs and restored images. Extensive experiments demonstrate that CauSiam effectively improves the generalization performance of existing SIDD methods in continuously changing domains. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. Objective. Functional network connectivity (FNC) estimated from resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging showed great information about the neural mechanism in different brain disorders. But previous research has mainly focused on standard statistical learning approaches to find FNC features separating patients from control. While machine learning models can improve classification accuracy, they often lack interpretability, making it difficult to understand how they arrive at their decisions. Approach. Explainable machine learning helps address this issue by identifying which features contribute most to the model’s predictions. In this study, we introduce a novel framework leveraging SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAPs) to identify crucial FNC features distinguishing between two distinct population classes. Main results. Initially, we validate our approach using synthetic data. Subsequently, applying our framework, we ascertain FNC biomarkers distinguishing between, controls and schizophrenia (SZ) patients with accuracy of 81.04% as well as middle aged adults and old aged adults with accuracy 71.38%, respectively, employing random forest, XGBoost, and CATBoost models. Significance. Our analysis underscores the pivotal role of the cognitive control network (CCN), subcortical network (SCN), and somatomotor network in discerning individuals with SZ from controls. In addition, our platform found CCN and SCN as the most important networks separating young adults from older. © 2025 The Author(s). Mixed H_2/H_∞ Control Using a Fuzzy Singularly Perturbed Model with Multiple Perturbation Parameters for Gust Load Alleviation

This paper presents a mixed H21H∞ control using fuzzy singularly perturbed model （FSPM） with multiple perturbation parameters. Since FSPM with multiple perturbation parameters is an extension of models with a single perturbation parameter, the theoretical results are applicable to a larger class of systems described by multiple time scale nonlinear models, such as flying aircraft and flexible space robots. The parameter-independent solution of the mixed H21H∞ controller was obtained in the form of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）. The application of this approach to gust load alleviation of a flying vehicle verifies its effectiveness and flexibility.

Differential equations are a crucial mathematical tool used in a wide range of applications. If the solution to an initial value problem (IVP) can be transformed into an oracle, it can be utilized in various fields such as search and optimization, achieving quadratic speedup with respect to the number of candidates compared to its classical counterpart. In the past, attempts have been made to implement such an oracle using the Euler method. In this study, we propose a quantum linear multistep method (QLMM) that applies the linear multistep method, commonly used to numerically solve IVPs on classical computers, to generate a numerical solution of the IVP for use in a quantum oracle. We also propose a method to find the optimal form of QLMM for a given IVP. Finally, through computer simulations, we derive the QLMM formulation for an example IVP and show that the solution from the optimized QLMM can be used in an optimization problem. © 2025, CC BY.
