In this paper, we present the design and implementation of the JXTA-based e-Learning P2P system. We also show the design and implementation of a smart box environment that will be used for stimulating the learners to increase the learning efficiency. The smart box is intended to be integrated with our P2P system as a useful tool for monitoring and controlling learners' activity. Finally, it is also useful to evaluate the feasibility of our P2P platform to integrate different computational devices.

This paper presents an implementation of a DSP- based shunt active power factor corrector (PFC). The working principle of four-switch series-connected PFC is introduced. To examine the actual circuit characteristics, MATLAB/Simulink is used to implement circuit of shunt active PFC and analyze the relations between the load, VE DC voltage, source voltage and current. Analysis of circuit of the digital shunt-connected active PFC includes main circuit diagram and control circuits, such as adders, voltage converters, electric current sensors, feedback circuits and hardware circuit structure, calculation of main circuit inductance and design of capacitance value. Based on the control rule of source current slope, the relation between output capacitance voltage of the single-phase shunt PFC and source current waveform distortion is discussed. Finally, the influence of the efficiency with fixed capacitor voltage is shown in the experiment result.

The lightweight block cipher PRESENT was presented at the International Conference on Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded systems (CHES) in 2007, and it has become a standard of ISO/IEC-29192-2 for lightweight cryptosystems since 2012. Within the environment of the Internet of Things, this cipher is applicable to Radio Frequency Identification, network sensors, and smart cards. Its secret key can be either 80 or 128 bits long, while the block is 128 bits long. Since the publication of the PRESENT, numerous forms of cryptanalysis have been developed in order to evaluate its level of security. Some examples of these attacks include the differential attack, the linear attack, the integral attack, the algebraic attack, the fault attack, the side-cube attack, and the Biclique attack. All of these cryptanalyses are on the basis of the assumption that an attack using a chosen plaintext or an attack using a known plaintext would occur. In order to carry out a chosen-plaintext attack, an attacker must have the ciphertexts along with the plaintexts that go along with them, whereas a known-plaintext attack requires a significant quantity of plaintexts and ciphertexts. The ciphertext-only attack is distinct from the chosen-plaintext attack and the known-plaintext attack, which require the ciphertext only in order to be successful. In this sense, the ciphertext-only attack is relevant in a range of scenarios. There is no research that has been released yet regarding PRESENT'S resilience to the ciphertext-only attack. This study presents a novel meet-in-the-middle statistical fault analysis using the approach of statistical analysis and meet-in-the-middle attack of PRESENT. This analysis is able to decrypt the 80-bit and 128-bit secret keys of PRESENT with a series of new distinguishers that include the Pearson correlation coefficient-Hamming weight, the Kullback Leibler divergence- Hamming weight, and the Jaccard similarity coefficient-Hamming weight-maximum likelihood estimatio

Software-defined metasurfaces are electromagnetically ultra-thin, artificial components that can provide engineered and externally controllable functionalities. The control over these functionalities is enabled by the metasurface tunability, which is implemented by embedded electronic circuits that modify locally the surface resistance and reactance. Integrating controllers within the metasurface cells, able to intercommunicate and adaptively reconfigure it, thus imparting a desired electromagnetic operation, opens the path towards the creation of an artificially intelligent (AI) fabric where each unit cell can have its own sensing, programmable computing, and actuation facilities. In this work we take a crucial step towards bringing the AI metasurface technology to emerging applications, in particular exploring the wireless mm-wave intercell communication capabilities in a software-defined HyperSurface designed for operation is the microwave regime. We examine three different wireless communication channels within the landscape of the reflective metasurface: Firstly, in the layer where the control electronics of the HyperSurface lie, secondly inside a dedicated layer enclosed between two metallic plates, and, thirdly, inside the metasurface itself. For each case we examine the physical implementation of the mm-wave transponder nodes, we quantify communication channel metrics, and we identify complexity vs. performance trade-offs. DAMPER: A Dual-Stage Medical Report Generation Framework with Coarse-Grained MeSH Alignment and Fine-Grained Hypergraph Matching

Medical report generation is crucial for clinical diagnosis and patient management, summarizing diagnoses and recommendations based on medical imaging. However, existing work often overlook the clinical pipeline involved in report writing, where physicians typically conduct an initial quick review followed by a detailed examination. Moreover, current alignment methods may lead to misaligned relationships. To address these issues, we propose DAMPER, a dual-stage framework for medical report generation that mimics the clinical pipeline of report writing in two stages. In the first stage, a MeSH-Guided Coarse-Grained Alignment (MCG) stage that aligns chest X-ray (CXR) image features with medical subject headings (MeSH) features to generate a rough keyphrase representation of the overall impression. In the second stage, a Hypergraph-Enhanced Fine-Grained Alignment (HFG) stage that constructs hypergraphs for image patches and report annotations, modeling high-order relationships within each modality and performing hypergraph matching to capture semantic correlations between image regions and textual phrases. Finally,the coarse-grained visual features, generated MeSH representations, and visual hypergraph features are fed into a report decoder to produce the final medical report. Extensive experiments on public datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of DAMPER in generating comprehensive and accurate medical reports, outperforming state-of-the-art methods across various evaluation metrics. Queuing is an important component of a process in service. Queues are formed in a company or institution due to customers. Disorderly queues are a big problem for all concerned. Where, disorderly queues occur at University Prima Indonesia at the time of tuition payment so that the campus has to carry out a crowded queue process and students have to stand waiting for the next call resulting in less effective and efficient even waste of energy for students and employees. This research designed a system of tuition payment queues using the First In First Out (FIFO) algorithm which aims to reduce the time students are queuing at the checkout at the time of tuition payment so as not to wait too long so that the time of students and campus employees is not wasted too much and reduce the crowded queue time. The result of this study is an android-based tuition payment system, which is useful for reducing student build up when paying tuition. Thus it can be said that the calculation result of P0 queue has a result of 0.25%, and the number of customers 3 people, the average customer in the queue has a value of 2.25, the total customer time is 20 minutes, and the average customer time in the row is 15 minutes, the server busy time is 0.75, and the server's empty time is 0.25%.

Sequential game-based resource allocation strategy in grid environment

In grid environment, resource load prediction is one of the most important problems in resource allocation optimization. But load status is difficult to estimate accurately due to the dynamic nature and heterogeneity of grid resource. In response to this issue, a resource allocation strategy that uses sequential game method to predict resource load for time optimization in a proportional resource sharing environment is proposed. The problem of multiple users bidding to compete for a common computational resource is formulated as a multi-player dynamic game. Through finding the Nash equilibrium solution of the multi-player dynamic game, resource load is predicted. Using this load information, a set of user optimal bids is produced to partition resource capacity according to proportional sharing mechanism. The experiments are performed based on the GridSim toolkits and the results show that the proposed strategy could generate reasonable user bids, reduce resource processing time, hence overcome the deficiency of Bredin's strategy, which is not concerned with resource load variation. The conclusion indicates that employing sequential game method for load prediction is feasible in grid resource allocation and adapts better to the dynamic nature of heterogeneous resource in grid environment.

Designing and analyzing model-based RL (MBRL) algorithms with guaranteed monotonic improvement has been challenging, mainly due to the interdependence between policy optimization and model learning. Existing discrepancy bounds generally ignore the impacts of model shifts, and their corresponding algorithms are prone to degrade performance by drastic model updating. In this work, we first propose a novel and general theoretical scheme for a non-decreasing performance guarantee of MBRL. Our follow-up derived bounds reveal the relationship between model shifts and performance improvement. These discoveries encourage us to formulate a constrained lower-bound optimization problem to permit the monotonicity of MBRL. A further example demonstrates that learning models from a dynamically-varying number of explorations benefit the eventual returns. Motivated by these analyses, we design a simple but effective algorithm CMLO (Constrained Model-shift Lower-bound Optimization), by introducing an event-triggered mechanism that flexibly determines when to update the model. Experiments show that CMLO surpasses other state-of-the-art methods and produces a boost when various policy optimization methods are employed.

Non-terrestrial networks (NTN), particularly low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks, have emerged as a promising solution to overcome the limitations of traditional terrestrial networks in the context of next-generation (6G) wireless systems. In this paper, we focus on analyzing the timeliness of information delivery in NTN through the concept of Age of Information (AoI). We propose an on-off process to approximate the service process between LEO satellites and a source node located on the Earth’s surface. By utilizing stochastic geometry, we derive a closed-form expression for the time-average AoI in an NTN. This expression also applies to on-off processes with one component following an exponential distribution while the other has its probability density function supported on a bounded interval. Numerical results validate the accuracy of our analysis and demonstrate the impact of source status update rate and satellite constellation density on the time-average AoI. Our work fills a gap in the literature by providing a comprehensive analysis of AoI in NTN and offers new insights into the performance of LEO satellite networks. © 2023, CC BY.
