Prior Knowledge-Driven Hybrid Prompter Learning for RGB-Event Tracking

Event data can asynchronously capture variations in light intensity, thereby implicitly providing valuable complementary cues for RGB-Event tracking. Existing methods typically employ a direct interaction mechanism to fuse RGB and event data. However, due to differences in imaging mechanisms, the representational disparity between these two data types is not fixed, which can lead to tracking failures in certain challenging scenarios. To address this issue, we propose a novel prior knowledge-driven hybrid prompter learning framework for RGB-Event tracking. Specifically, we develop a frame-event hybrid prompter that leverages prior tracking knowledge from the foundation model as intermediate modal support to mitigate the heterogeneity between RGB and event data. By leveraging its rich prior tracking knowledge, the intermediate modal reduces the gap between the dense RGB and sparse event data interactions, effectively guiding complementary learning between modalities. Meanwhile, to mitigate the internal learning disparities between the lightweight hybrid prompter and the deep transformer model, we introduce a pseudo-prompt learning strategy that lies between full fine-tuning and partial fine-tuning. This strategy adopts a divide-and-conquer approach to assign different learning rates to modules with distinct functions, effectively reducing the dominant influence of RGB information in complex scenarios. Extensive experiments conducted on two public RGB-Event tracking datasets show that the proposed HPL outperforms state-of-the-art tracking methods, achieving exceptional performance. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Time-series data is prevalent in many applications like smart homes, smart grids, and healthcare. And it is now increasingly common to store and query time-series data in the cloud. Despite the benefits, data privacy concerns in such outsourced services are pressing, making it imperative to embed privacy assurance mechanisms from the outset. Most existing related works have been focused on querying for different types of aggregate statistics. In this paper, we instead focus on the secure support for advanced interval skyline queries, which allow to identify time series that are not dominated by any other time series within a query time interval. This is valuable for time-series data analytics in applications like remote health monitoring (e.g., identifying patients with high heart rates in a certain week). We present OblivTime, a new system framework for oblivious and efficient interval skyline query processing over encrypted time-series data. OblivTime is built from a synergy of time-series data analytics, lightweight cryptography, and GPU parallel computing, achieving stronger security guarantees and lower online query latency over the state-of-the-art prior work. Extensive experiments demonstrate that OblivTime can achieve up to 666\times speedup in online query latency over the state-of-the-art prior work. © 2008-2012 IEEE.

Wireless rechargeable sensor networks (WRSNs), supported by recent advancements in wireless power transfer (WPT) technology, hold significant potential for extending network lifetime. However, traditional approaches often prioritize scheduling algorithms and network optimization, overlooking the security risks associated with the charging process, which exposes the network to potential attacks. This paper addresses this gap by integrating Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Digital Twin technologies for the intelligent detection of Denial of Charging (DoC) attacks in WRSNs. First, it leverages the flexibility and intelligent control of SDN, in combination with Digital Twin, to enhance real-time detection and mitigation of DoC attacks. Second, it employs four key metrics to detect such attacks including charging request patterns, energy consumption, behavioral and reputation scores, and charging behavior and efficiency. The numerical results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed protocol in terms of energy usage efficiency, survival rate, detection rate, and travel distance. © 2025, CC BY.

In the contemporary digital age, the fields of journalism and social media assume a pivotal role in disseminating information about current events and issues to the public. However, conventional techniques for gathering news and capturing images frequently encounter constraints and limitations. In recent years, technological advancements have transformed the creation and consumption of digital media content. This study presents an innovative solution that combines a smart drone with a reinforcement learning (RL) machine learning technique to enhance digital media content in a timely manner. The proposed framework has been subjected to validation and testing in a real-world scenario in Taif City through the transfer of rich digital media content. The results demonstrate promising outcomes, which support Saudi Arabia's efforts to enrich digital media content for tourism.

Accurately synthesizing talking face videos and capturing fine facial features for individuals with long hair presents a significant challenge. To tackle these challenges in existing methods, we propose a decomposed per-embedding Gaussian fields (DEGSTalk), a 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS)-based talking face synthesis method for generating realistic talking faces with long hairs. Our DEGSTalk employs Deformable Pre-Embedding Gaussian Fields, which dynamically adjust pre-embedding Gaussian primitives using implicit expression coefficients. This enables precise capture of dynamic facial regions and subtle expressions. Additionally, we propose a Dynamic Hair-Preserving Portrait Rendering technique to enhance the realism of long hair motions in the synthesized videos. Results show that DEGSTalk achieves improved realism and synthesis quality compared to existing approaches, particularly in handling complex facial dynamics and hair preservation. The edge-brain framework (EBF) is a S/W framework that allows manufacturers to easily integrate AI-empowered robot work skills into a legacy production system in an edge computing environment with minimal time and effort. For EBF-based smart manufacturing, is a skill-based task-level robot programming environment that plays a key role. In this paper, we present the grasp pose selection skill as a case study to demonstrate the proposed skill-based edge-brain smart manufacturing. The proposed grasp-pose selection skill determines the optimal 6D grasp pose associated with the target object in a cluttered workspace by taking into consideration grasp stability, object manipulability, and collision-free path efficacy. To achieve a real-time operation of optimal grasp pose selection skill, deep learning networks are designed to compute, in particular, the manipulability and collision-free path efficacy indices. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed real-time grasp pose selection skill developed for EBF-based smart manufacturing.

Resilient Cooperative Control of Multiple DC Microgrids With Interconnection Networks Against Cyber Attacks

The two control objectives of voltage regulation and precise current sharing are conflicting in multi-bus DC microgrids. In this paper, a distributed control strategy is proposed, and it can achieve accurate current sharing and regulate the voltage of a critical node to the rated value. However, such a distributed control system is susceptible to potential cyber attacks that could deteriorate microgrids performances by corrupting communication links or actuators. To overcome these difficulties, we design the interconnected communication networks to establish a resilient cooperative system of multiple microgrids against unknown bounded injection attacks. The proposed resilient control strategy can achieve the control objectives of maintaining voltage regulation and current sharing within each microgrids under different operating conditions, and the interconnected system consisting of multiple microgrids cooperates to mitigate the adverse effect of cyber attacks. The dynamics and stability of the overall close-loop system of the DC microgrids are analyzed, in the present or absent of cyber attacks. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in two 4-bus DC microgrids. © 2023 IEEE.

This article proposes a new multi-level inverter (MLI) based on flying capacitor inverter (FCI), with focused on high-precision positioning control for a voice coil motor (VCM). Multi-level inverters (MLIs) have the characteristic that increasing the number of output voltage levels reduces the output voltage error. However, as the number of levels increases, the number of circuit elements increases, and the circuit becomes more complex. In addition, the output voltage amplitude for each level is constant in conventional inverters. As a result, such as high-precision positioning control of VCM, designing an appropriate inverter for a reference wave that contains a large amount of low-voltage components increases the number of circuit elements. Therefore, this paper proposes a MLI with two unbalanced dc-input voltages, referred to as unbalanced MLIs (UMLIs) hereinafter. This topology uses two different dc-input voltages, and it is possible to reduce the output voltage level in extremely low-voltage range compared to other voltage levels. Simulation results when the high-precision positioning control of the VCM confirm that the proposed UMLIs improves the control performance compared to the conventional FCIs with equal number of output voltage levels and uniform level widths.

Accurate weather forecasts are important for disaster prevention, agricultural planning, and water resource management. Traditional numerical weather prediction (NWP) methods offer physically interpretable high-accuracy predictions but are computationally expensive and fail to fully leverage rapidly growing historical data. In recent years, deep learning methods have made significant progress in weather forecasting, but challenges remain, such as balancing global and regional high-resolution forecasts, excessive smoothing in extreme event predictions, and insufficient dynamic system modeling. To address these issues, this paper proposes a global-regional nested weather forecasting framework based on graph neural networks (GNNs). By combining a dynamic system perspective with multi-grid theory, we construct a multi-scale graph structure and densify the target region to capture local high-frequency features. We introduce an adaptive information propagation mechanism, using dynamic gating units to deeply integrate node and edge features for more accurate extreme event forecasting. For high-resolution regional forecasts, we propose a neural nested grid method to mitigate boundary information loss. Experimental results show that the proposed method performs excellently across global to regional scales and short-term to long-term forecasts, especially in extreme event predictions (e.g., typhoons), significantly improving forecast accuracy. This study conducts a comparative analysis of the performance of ten novel and wellperforming metaheuristic algorithms for parameter estimation of solar photovoltaic models. This optimization problem involves accurately identifying parameters that reflect the complex and nonlinear behaviours of photovoltaic cells affected by changing environmental conditions and material inconsistencies. This estimation is challenging due to computational complexity and the risk of optimization errors, which can hinder reliable performance predictions. The algorithms evaluated include the Crayfish Optimization Algorithm, the Golf Optimization Algorithm, the Coati Optimization Algorithm, the Crested Porcupine Optimizer, the Growth Optimizer, the Artificial Protozoa Optimizer, the Secretary Bird Optimization Algorithm, the Mother Optimization Algorithm, the Election Optimizer Algorithm, and the Technical and Vocational Education and Training-Based Optimizer. These algorithms are applied to solve four well-established photovoltaic models: the singlediode model, the double-diode model, the triple-diode model, and different photovoltaic module models. The study focuses on key performance metrics such as execution time, number of function evaluations, and solution optimality. The results reveal significant differences in the efficiency and accuracy of the algorithms, with some algorithms demonstrating superior performance in specific models. The Friedman test was utilized to rank the performance of the various algorithms, revealing the Growth Optimizer as the top performer across all the considered models. This optimizer achieved a root mean square error of 9.8602187789E−04 for the single-diode model, 9.8248487610E−04 for both the double-diode and triplediode models and 1.2307306856E−02 for the photovoltaic module model. This consistent success indicates that the Growth Optimizer is a strong contender for future enhancements aimed at further boosting its efficiency and effectiveness. Its
