Cardiovascular problems have become the predominant cause of death worldwide and a rise in the number of patients has been observed ***,electrocardiogram(ECG)data is analyzed by medical experts to determine the cardiac abnormality,which is *** addition,the diagnosis requires experienced medical experts and is ***,automated identification of cardiovascular disease using ECGs is a challenging problem and state-of-the-art performance has been attained by complex deep learning *** study proposes a simple multilayer perceptron(MLP)model for heart disease prediction to reduce computational *** dataset containing averaged signals with window size 10 is used as an *** competing deep learning and machine learning models are used for comparison.K-fold cross-validation is used to validate the *** outcomes reveal that the MLP-based architecture can produce better outcomes than existing approaches with a 94.40%accuracy *** findings of this study show that the proposed system achieves high performance indicating that it has the potential for deployment in a real-world,practical medical environment.

The task of identifying key skills from job vacancies descriptions is considered in the article. The source data consists of vacancy texts from the 'Jobs in Russia' portal, in which skill-related entities were manually annotated. Keyword extraction methods (YAKE, PositionRank and WikiNEuRal, KBIR-InSpec), and a named entity recognition model trained on the source data are compared. © 2024 IEEE.

Anomaly detection for rail running bands, the pattern of wheel-rail contact area, is crucial to analyze composite rail irregularities. This paper presents an all-weather vision-based solution for running-band inspection. However, two major algorithmic challenges restrict inspection effectiveness: 1) the identification of high-quality features for diversified and imbalanced data subject to noise and outliers, and 2) inferring implicit anomaly co-occurrence patterns. We regard overall running-band anomaly detection as a multi-label classification problem and develop a novel deep multi-anomaly recognition network via recurrent attention graphs (RAGRN). © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Gene expression analysis is an efficient modality to detect breast cancer. But analysis of the gene expression data is a complicated task due to the involvement of large number of numerical data for each subject. This research work focuses on the development of computerized diagnosis systems for analyzing the gene expression data and classifying the subjects as either normal or breast adenocarcinoma. Sparse autoencoder is used for dimensionality reduction and Elephant Herding Optimization is used for transforming the features. Four different supervised classifiers namely support vector machine, random forest classifier, decision trees, and naive bayes classifier are examined for classification task. Among them, random forest provides the superior balanced accuracy of 86% while it was further enhanced to 92% with the help of sparse autoencoders and elephant herding optimization algorithm. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is a leading cause of disability globally and a major cause of suicide deaths. Improving our understanding of MDD is expected to inspire better objective diagnostic and treatment tools which may decrease the burden of disease worldwide. MDD is associated with social impairments and reward processing aberrations. However, the interaction between social cognition and reward learning in MDD is not well understood. In this work, we aim to study the effect of integrating social information with reward learning in MDD using an EEG-based machine learning approach. We recorded EEG data from subjects during their participation in a reward learning experiment in social and non-social contexts. We then extracted linear and nonlinear features from the EEG data to detect MDD using Support Vector Machine (SVM) and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) classifiers. Our results show that the data collected during social contexts achieved broadly higher classification accuracies compared to non-social contexts reaching 80% using multi-channels. Moreover, single-channel data achieved comparable and even better accuracies than multi-channels with also superior performance in social contexts reaching 85.7%. In the sub-band classification analysis, beta and alpha bands were considerably better than theta and delta bands. Surprisingly, the non-social context had the highest accuracy in the beta band while the social context had the highest accuracy in the alpha band. The results were consistent when using single features compared to combining the features. These findings show the notable role of social information with reward processing in advancing our understanding of MDD and its subtypes which can guide the improvement of diagnostic and personalized treatment tools. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Preceding vehicle identification is crucial for establishing cooperative platooning. This paper presents the development of a prototype preceding vehicle identification system (PVIS) and its field evaluation for the assessment of commercial viability. We designed and assembled a prototype consisting of a processing unit (Jetson Nano board), a communication device (Wi-Fi dongle), a GPS unit, and a distance measurement sensor (Terabee sensor). The Jetson Nano integrates the SparkFun GPS-RTK-SMA unit, the Terabee time-of-flight sensor, and the Wi-Fi dongle. The PVIS prototype in the ego vehicle measures the distance to its preceding vehicle and receives the GPS data from potential preceding vehicles with the PVIS prototypes. With these, the PVIS in the ego vehicle determines the connectivity of the preceding vehicle. The field evaluation results showed that the prototype PVIS works as designed, and each successful identification takes about 5.3 seconds. However, it was found that the Terabee (time of flight) sensor, at times, did not properly measure distances, likely due to an angle issue caused by the roadway surface and vibration of the vehicle. Federated learning (FL) has emerged as a leading approach for decentralized model training, preserving data privacy by exchanging only model parameters. However, recent studies have exposed vulnerabilities, revealing that attackers can reconstruct private data from shared model parameters, compromising user privacy. To address this, various defense methods have been proposed, with gradient perturbation being a lightweight yet effective strategy. However, it often incurs a trade-off with model performance. In this paper, we introduce a lightweight defense mechanism tailored for Federated Stochastic Gradient Descent (FedSGD). Our method leverages maximum gradient values to gauge noise scale, while also preserving and compensating for previous noise iterations to mitigate performance impacts. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

As real-time data sources expand, the need for detecting anomalies in streaming data becomes increasingly critical for cutting edge data-driven applications. Real-time anomaly detection faces various challenges, requiring automated systems that adapt continuously to evolving data patterns due to the impracticality of human intervention. This study focuses on energy systems (ES), critical infrastructures vulnerable to disruptions from natural disasters, cyber attacks, equipment failures, or human errors, leading to power outages, financial losses, and risks to other sectors. Early anomaly detection ensures energy supply continuity, minimizing disruption impacts, an enhancing system resilience against cyber threats. A systematic literature review (SLR) is conducted to answer 5 essential research questions in anomaly detection due to the lack of standardized knowledge and the rapid evolution of emerging technologies replacing conventional methods. A detailed review of selected literature, extracting insights and synthesizing results has been conducted in order to explore anomaly types that can be detected using Machine Learning algorithms in the scope of Energy systems, the factors influencing this detection success, the deployment algorithms and security measurement to take in to consideration. This paper provides a comprehensive review and listing of advanced machine learning models, methods to enhance detection performance, methodologies, tools, and enabling technologies for real-time implementation. Furthermore, the study outlines future research directions to improve anomaly detection in smart energy systems. © The Author(s) 2024.

Agriculture is evolving towards more sustainable practices thanks to the integration of the machine learning and Internet of Things, which addresses many of the issues related to agricultural production and leads to increased yields with reduced input and labor costs. Smart farming has developed solutions to many conventional agricultural problems to automatically manage and monitor farmland. These technologies reduce the risk of field management in the event of bad weather, and also provide benefits to farmers in the event of labor shortages. The Internet of Things ensures the connection of physical objects that are equipped with sensors to the internet, enabling them to collect and exchange data and communicate with each other and with computer systems to gather information, perform analysis and take actions in real time that require rapid data analysis, and this task can be accomplished through machine learning algorithms with greater efficiency and high-quality decision-making. In addition, we carry out an in-depth state-of-the-art survey to identify very recent work that has implemented the Internet of Things and machine learning in smart agriculture, analyzing the development of practical solutions and discussing recent research trends and future prospects. © 2024 IEEE.

Cyber threats and data manipulation are the main concerns in this technological society. The investigator finds it challenging to submit evidence to the court because of the information breach as continuity documentation of records is very critical for safeguarding against criminal events. Blockchain-based digital forensic data management systems have been developed to deal with this issue of Privacy preservation for evidence items. Blockchain technology provides authentication, immutability, traceability, resilience, and distributed trust for forensic data. In order to ensure security and ease of use, the system utilizes onion architecture. Data can be stored and analysed whenever required. They provide trust between the examiners and the system. The system is a multi-platform system that provides effective usage where it can be accessed and used from anywhere. The honest information is make sure to follow the crime investigator of the steps. if we use the propose system of block chain, it is can't be altered the evidence during the submission of court. The storing data of each block is verify and added to the blockchian. The creation of safe database was implemented by a decentralised network with bitcoin and networks of cryptocurrency. In proposed system, the blockchain technology helps in can't able to access and altered the data during the investigation periods. This system is used to implements the easily accessed and used in anywhere. © 2023 IEEE.
