Recently,the path planning problem may be considered one of the most interesting researched topics in autonomous *** is why finding a safe path in a cluttered environment for a mobile robot is a significant requisite.A promising route planning for mobile robots on one side saves time and,on the other side,reduces the wear and tear on the robot,saving the capital *** route planning methods for the mobile robot have been developed and *** to our best knowledge,no method offers an optimum solution among the existing *** Swarm Optimization(PSO),a numerical optimization method based on the mobility of virtual particles in a multidimensional space,is considered one of the best algorithms for route planning under constantly changing environmental *** the researchers,reactive methods are increasingly common and extensively used for the training of neural networks in order to have efficient route planning for mobile *** paper proposes a PSO Weighted Grey Wolf Optimization(PSOWGWO)*** is a hybrid algorithm based on enhanced Grey Wolf Optimization(GWO)with *** order to measure the statistical efficiency of the proposed algorithm,Wilcoxon rank-sum and ANOVA statistical tests are *** experimental results demonstrate a 25%to 45%enhancement in terms of Area Under Curve(AUC).Moreover,superior performance in terms of data size,path planning time,and accuracy is demonstrated over other state-of-the-art techniques.

3D object detection from LiDAR sensor data is an important topic in the context of autonomous cars and drones. In this paper, we present the results of experiments on the impact of backbone selection of a deep convolutional neural network on detection accuracy and computation speed. We chose the PointPillars network, which is characterised by a simple architecture, high speed, and modularity that allows for easy expansion. During the experiments, we paid particular attention to the change in detection efficiency (measured by the mAP metric) and the total number of multiply-addition operations needed to process one point cloud. We tested 10 different convolutional neural network architectures that are widely used in image-based detection problems. For a backbone like MobilenetV1, we obtained an almost 4x speedup at the cost of a 1.13% decrease in mAP. On the other hand, for CSPDarknet we got an acceleration of more than 1.5x at an increase in mAP of 0.33%. We have thus demonstrated that it is possible to significantly speed up a 3D object detector in LiDAR point clouds with a small decrease in detection efficiency. This result can be used when PointPillars or similar algorithms are implemented in embedded systems, including SoC FPGAs. Collaborative Satisfaction of Long-Term Spatial Constraints in Multi-Agent systems: A Distributed Optimization Approach (extended version)

This paper addresses the problem of collaboratively satisfying long-term spatial constraints in multi-agent systems. Each agent is subject to spatial constraints, expressed as inequalities, which may depend on the positions of other agents with whom they may or may not have direct communication. These constraints need to be satisfied asymptotically or after an unknown finite time. The agents’ objective is to collectively achieve a formation that fulfills all constraints. The problem is initially framed as a centralized unconstrained optimization, where the solution yields the optimal configuration by maximizing an objective function that reflects the degree of constraint satisfaction. This function encourages collaboration, ensuring agents help each other meet their constraints while fulfilling their own. When the constraints are infeasible, agents converge to a least-violating solution. A distributed consensus-based optimization scheme is then introduced, which approximates the centralized solution, leading to the development of distributed controllers for single-integrator agents. The article focuses on calculating the natural vibration frequencies of a box structure with thermal protection, a crucial component in many engineering fields such as mechanical engineering and construction. The thermal protective coating applied to the outer surfaces of the structure adds significant mass and requires consideration in static and dynamic analyses. The study employs nonlinear dynamic analysis to model the flexible, two-layered structure subjected to thermal and force loads. The authors derive a system of nonlinear differential equations for the deflection of the structure using the Bubnov-Galerkin method. They also account for the material properties, including the modulus of elasticity and density of both the box and thermal protection layers. Numerical integration techniques are employed to solve these equations, providing a relationship between dimensionless vibration amplitudes over time. The study demonstrates the applicability of the proposed methodology by calculating the lowest natural frequency for a specific plate configuration and extends this analysis to configurations with stiffening ribs. In conclusion, the approach offers a reliable means for dynamic analysis of similar structures, with potential applications in finite element modeling. The results serve as a reference for validating such models under geometrically nonlinear conditions. © 2024 IEEE.

Box structures are widely used in mechanical engineering, instrumentation, construction and in many branches of human activity. Such structures play a special role in transport engineering, particularly in the automotive industry. Often, the box structure in addition to the force impact, can experience loads of wave influence nature. For reliable operation of a box structure, as well as for the assessment of strength and stiffness, it is necessary to know the dynamic characteristics of the system, in particular, to be able to determine the forms of transverse vibrations under different types of impacts at different moments of time. © 2024 IEEE.

In the second segment of the tutorial, we transition from the granularity of local interpretability to a broader exploration of eXplainable AI (XAI) methods. Building on the specific focus of the first part, which delved into Local Interpretable Model-Agnostic Explanations (LIME) and SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP), this section takes a more expansive approach. We will navigate through various XAI techniques of more global nature, covering counterfactual explanations, equation discovery, and the integration of physics-informed AI. Unlike the initial part, which concentrated on two specific methods, this section offers a general overview of these broader classes of techniques for explanation. The objective is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse strategies available for making complex machine learning models interpretable on a more global scale.

In recent years, event cameras (DVS - Dynamic Vision Sensors) have been used in vision systems as an alternative or supplement to traditional cameras. They are characterised by high dynamic range, high temporal resolution, low latency, and reliable performance in limited lighting conditions - parameters that are particularly important in the context of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and self-driving cars. In this work, we test whether these rather novel sensors can be applied to the popular task of traffic sign detection. To this end, we analyse different representations of the event data: event frame, event frequency, and the exponentially decaying time surface, and apply video frame reconstruction using a deep neural network called FireNet. We use the deep convolutional neural network YOLOv4 as a detector. For particular representations, we obtain a detection accuracy in the range of 86.9-88.9% mAP@0.5. The use of a fusion of the considered representations allows us to obtain a detector with higher accuracy of 89.9% mAP@0.5. In comparison, the detector for the frames reconstructed with FireNet is characterised by an accuracy of 72.67% mAP@0.5. The results obtained illustrate the potential of event cameras in automotive applications, either as standalone sensors or in close cooperation with typical frame-based cameras. © 2022 Division of Signal Processing and Electronic systems, Poznan University of technology (DSPES PUT).

In the paper, the authors check the behaviour of Bluetooth Low Energy protocol in a popular smart wristband and a microcontroller in the heart rate monitoring application. The measurements were collected using a development board with the ESP32 System on Chip. The authors tested measurement period stability and measurement reliability in various conditions.

The rapid population growth results in a crucial problem in the early detection of diseases inmedical *** all the cancers unveiled,breast cancer is considered the second most severe ***,an exponential rising in death cases incurred by breast cancer is expected due to the rapid population growth and the lack of resources required for performing medical *** recent advances in machine learning could help medical staff in diagnosing diseases as they offer effective,reliable,and rapid responses,which could help in decreasing the death *** this paper,we propose a new algorithm for feature selection based on a hybrid between powerful and recently emerged optimizers,namely,guided whale and dipper throated *** proposed algorithm is evaluated using four publicly available breast cancer *** evaluation results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach from the accuracy and speed *** prove the superiority of the proposed algorithm,a set of competing feature selection algorithms were incorporated into the conducted *** addition,a group of statistical analysis experiments was conducted to emphasize the superiority and stability of the proposed *** best-achieved breast cancer prediction average accuracy based on the proposed algorithm is 99.453%.This result is achieved in an average time of 3.6725 s,the best result among all the competing approaches utilized in the experiments.

This article introduces a new medical internet of things(IoT)framework for intelligent fall detection system of senior people based on our proposed deep forest *** cascade multi-layer structure of deep forest classifier allows to generate new features at each level with minimal hyperparameters compared to deep neural ***,the optimal number of the deep forest layers is automatically estimated based on the early stopping criteria of validation accuracy value at each generated *** suggested forest classifier was successfully tested and evaluated using a public SmartFall dataset,which is acquired from three-axis accelerometer in a *** includes 92781 training samples and 91025 testing samples with two labeled classes,namely non-fall and *** results of our deep forest classifier demonstrated a superior performance with the best accuracy score of 98.0%compared to three machine learning models,i.e.,K-nearest neighbors,decision trees and traditional random forest,and two deep learning models,which are dense neural networks and convolutional neural *** considering security and privacy aspects in the future work,our proposed medical IoT framework for fall detection of old people is valid for real-time healthcare application deployment.
