A New Hybrid Model for Segmentation of the Skin Lesion Based on Residual Attention U-Net

Skin segmentation participates significantly in various biomedical applications,such as skin cancer identification and skin lesion *** paper presents a novel framework for segmenting the *** framework contains two main stages:The first stage is for removing different types of noises from the dermoscopic images,such as hair,speckle,and impulse noise,and the second stage is for segmentation of the dermoscopic images using an attention residual U-shaped Network(U-Net).The framework uses variational Autoencoders(VAEs)for removing the hair noises,the Generative Adversarial Denoising Network(DGAN-Net),the Denoising U-shaped U-Net(D-U-NET),and Batch Renormalization U-Net(Br-U-NET)for remov-ing the speckle noise,and the Laplacian Vector Median Filter(MLVMF)for removing the impulse *** the second main stage,the residual attention u-net was used for *** framework achieves(35.11,31.26,27.01,and 26.16),(36.34,33.23,31.32,and 28.65),and(36.33,32.21,28.54,and 27.11)for removing hair,speckle,and impulse noise,respectively,based on Peak Signal Noise Ratio(PSNR)at the level of(0.1,0.25,0.5,and 0.75)of *** framework also achieves an accuracy of nearly 94.26 in the dice score in the process of segmentation before removing noise and 95.22 after removing different types of *** experiments have shown the efficiency of the used model in removing noise according to the structural similarity index measure(SSIM)and PSNR and in the segmentation process as well.

Continuous-time (CT) modeling has proven to provide improved sample efficiency and interpretability in learning the dynamical behavior of physical systems compared to discrete-time (DT) models. However, even with numerous recent developments, the CT nonlinear state-space (NL-SS) model identification problem remains to be solved in full, considering common experimental aspects such as the presence of external inputs, measurement noise, latent states, and general robustness. This paper presents a novel estimation method that addresses all these aspects and that can obtain state-of-the-art results on multiple benchmarks with compact fully connected neural networks capturing the CT dynamics. The proposed estimation method called the subspace encoder approach (SUBNET) ascertains these results by efficiently approximating the complete simulation loss by evaluating short simulations on subsections of the data, by using an encoder function to estimate the initial state for each subsection and a novel state-derivative normalization to ensure stability and good numerical conditioning of the training process. We prove that the use of subsections increases cost function smoothness together with the necessary requirements for the existence of the encoder function and we show that the proposed state-derivative normalization is essential for reliable estimation of CT NL-SS models. © 2023 11th International Conference on Learning Representations, ICLR 2023. Longer training times pose a significant challenge in artificial neural networks (ANNs) as it may leads to increasing the computational costs and decreasing the effectiveness of the model. Therefore, it is imperative to reduce training times in ANNs to enhance the computational efficiency. The initialization of the weights between the layers in ANN plays a vital role in reducing training times. Appropriate weight initialization can help the network converge faster during the training by providing an optimum starting point for the network. Therefore, weight initialization techniques are essential for efficient training of ANNs. This paper revisits and implements different popular weight initialization techniques in ANNs and analyzes their impact on training time. Specifically, this paper implements Gaussian-based, Kaming-based, and Xavier-based weight initiation atop a popular DNN-based network. The experiments are conducted by employing a well-known dataset. The results show that the scenario when no weight initiation is applied consumed the highest training time, whereas different weight initiation techniques contribute in reducing the training times for the network. © 2024 The Authors.

Dear Editor,This letter is concerned with prescribed-time Nash equilibrium(PTNE)seeking problem in a pursuit-evasion game(PEG)involving agents with second-order *** order to achieve the prior-given and user-defined convergence time for the PEG,a PTNE seeking algorithm has been developed to facilitate collaboration among multiple pursuers for capturing the evader without the need for any global ***,it is theoretically proved that the prescribedtime convergence of the designed algorithm for achieving Nash equilibrium of ***,the effectiveness of the PTNE method was validated by numerical simulation results.A PEG consists of two groups of agents:evaders and *** pursuers aim to capture the evaders through cooperative efforts,while the evaders strive to evade *** is a classic noncooperative *** has attracted plenty of attention due to its wide application scenarios,such as smart grids[1],formation control[2],[3],and spacecraft rendezvous[4].It is noteworthy that most previous research on seeking the Nash equilibrium of the game,where no agent has an incentive to change its actions,has focused on asymptotic and exponential convergence[5]-[7].

Semantic communications offer promising prospects for enhancing data transmission efficiency. However, existing schemes have predominantly concentrated on point-to-point transmissions. In this paper, we aim to investigate the validity of this claim in interference scenarios compared to baseline approaches. Specifically, our focus is on general multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) interference channels, where we propose an interference-robust semantic communication (IRSC) scheme. This scheme involves the development of transceivers based on neural networks (NNs), which integrate channel state information (CSI) either solely at the receiver or at both transmitter and receiver ends. Moreover, we establish a composite loss function for training IRSC transceivers, along with a dynamic mechanism for updating the weights of various components in the loss function to enhance system fairness among users. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed IRSC scheme effectively learns to mitigate interference and outperforms baseline approaches, particularly in low signal-tonoise (SNR) regimes. © 2024 IEEE.

The Light-Fidelity (Li-Fi) is a wireless communication technology that is light-based and can complete wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) technologies for many applications. Li-Fi technology which uses light spectrum is a technology for solving the lack of radio spectrum at Wi-Fi. One of the main benefits of Li-Fi technology is the ability to communicate by light with a high level of safety. However, the signal of Li-Fi technology is the same as other signals that are susceptible to eavesdropping because no security system is infallible. The objective of this paper is to decrease the computational cost of encryption and decryption and keep the security of transformed data when transmitted via Li-Fi technology. This study proposes the advanced Rivest Cipher 4 (ARC4) algorithm that will be used in the physical layer of Li-Fi applications. The novelty will be in the pseudo-random generation algorithm (PRGA) which is part of Rivest Cipher 4 (RC4). The data will become an index of the s-array and get the value of that index in the s-array instead of using the XOR operation. The proposed ARC4 was evaluated by the National Institute of Science and technology (NIST) test. The obtained results illustrate that ARC4 is more robust and effective than RC4 when the data is transformed by Li-Fi communication. © 2023 IEEE.

The growing field of urban monitoring has increasingly recognized the potential of utilizing autonomous technologies,particularly in drone *** deployment of intelligent drone swarms offers promising solutions for enhancing the efficiency and scope of urban condition *** this context,this paper introduces an innovative algorithm designed to navigate a swarm of drones through urban landscapes for monitoring *** primary challenge addressed by the algorithm is coordinating drone movements from one location to another while circumventing obstacles,such as *** algorithm incorporates three key components to optimize the obstacle detection,navigation,and energy efficiency within a drone ***,the algorithm utilizes a method to calculate the position of a virtual leader,acting as a navigational beacon to influence the overall direction of the ***,the algorithm identifies observers within the swarm based on the current *** further refine obstacle avoidance,the third component involves the calculation of angular velocity using fuzzy *** approach considers the proximity of detected obstacles through operational rangefinders and the target’s location,allowing for a nuanced and adaptable computation of angular *** integration of fuzzy logic enables the drone swarm to adapt to diverse urban conditions dynamically,ensuring practical obstacle *** proposed algorithm demonstrates enhanced performance in the obstacle detection and navigation accuracy through comprehensive *** results suggest that the intelligent obstacle avoidance algorithm holds promise for the safe and efficient deployment of autonomous mobile drones in urban monitoring applications.
