This paper introduces a consensus-based generalized multi-population aggregative game coordination approach with application to electric vehicles charging under transmission line constraints. The algorithm enables agents to seek an equilibrium solution while considering the limited infrastructure capacities that impose coupling constraints among the users. The Nash-seeking algorithm consists of two interrelated iterations. In the upper layer, population coordinators collaborate for a distributed estimation of the coupling aggregate term in the agents’ cost function and the associated Lagrange multiplier of the coupling constraint, transmitting the latest updated values to their population’s agents. In the lower layer, each agent updates its best response based on the most recent information received and communicates it back to its population coordinator. For the case when the agents’ best response mappings are non-expansive, we prove the algorithm’s convergence to the generalized Nash equilibrium point of the game. Simulation results demonstrate the algorithm’s effectiveness in achieving equilibrium in the presence of a coupling constraint. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

There can be none. In this paper, we address the problem of a set of discrete-time networked agents reaching average consensus privately and resiliently in the presence of a subset of attacked agents. Existing approaches to the problem rely on trade-offs between accuracy, privacy, and resilience, sacrificing one for the others. We show that a separation-like principle for privacy-preserving and resilient discrete-time average consensus is possible. Specifically, we propose a scheme that combines strategies from resilient average consensus and private average consensus, which yields both desired properties. The proposed scheme has polynomial time-complexity on the number of agents and the maximum number of attacked agents. In other words, each agent that is not under attack is able to detect and discard the values of the attacked agents, reaching the average consensus of non-attacked agents while keeping each agent's initial state private. Finally, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method with numerical results.

Most optimization problems lack closed-form solutions of the argument that minimizes a given function, and even if these were available it might be prohibitive to compute it. As such, we rely on iterative numerical algorithms to find an approximate solution. In this paper, we propose to leverage fractional calculus in the context of time series analysis methods to devise a new iterative algorithm. Specifically, we propose to leverage autoregressive fractional-order integrative moving average time series, whose coefficients encode a proxy for local spatial information. We provide evidence that our algorithm is efficient and particularly suitable for cases where the Hessian is ill-conditioned. © 2021 ESANN Intelligence and Machine Learning. All rights reserved.

This work studies formal verification of continuous-time continuous-space systems with unknown dynamics against safety specifications. The proposed framework is based on a data-driven construction of barrier certificates using which the safety of unknown systems is verified via a finite set of data collected from trajectories of systems with a priori guaranteed confidence. In the proposed scheme, we first cast the original safety problem as a robust convex program (RCP). Since the unknown model appears in one of the constraints of the proposed RCP, we provide the scenario convex program (SCP) corresponding to the original RCP by collecting finite numbers of data from systems' evolutions. We then establish a probabilistic closeness between the optimal value of SCP and that of RCP. Accordingly, we formally quantify the safety guarantee of unknown systems based on the number of data and the required level of safety confidence. Motivations. In the past few years, formal methods have become a promising approach to analyze dynamical systems against high-level logic properties, e.g., those expressed as linear temporal logic (LTL) formulae, in a reliable way. In this regard, barrier certificates, as a discretization-free approach, have received significant attention as a useful tool for formal analysis of complex dynamical systems. In particular, barrier certificates are Lyapunov-like functions defined over the state space of systems subjected to a set of inequalities on both the function itself and its time derivative along the flow of the system. The existence of such a function provides a formal certificate for the safety of the system [1, 2]. To employ the proposed approaches in the setting of barrier certificates, one needs to know precise models of dynamical systems and, hence, those approaches are not applicable where the model is unknown. The videoscope (VS) images have poor quality and low contrast. Hence, in this paper, three proposed frameworks to improve the quality of VS images are presented. The first framework depends on contrast-limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE) with adaptive gamma correction. The second framework depends on homomorphic processing. The third framework is based on the homomorphic enhancement with histogram equalization. The first one is superior from the entropy perspective, while the third one is superior from the contrast perspective. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

Recent transformer-based methods for estimating 3D human pose have gained widespread attention, achieving state-of-the-art results. Previous methods have primarily focused on capturing motion patterns of the human body at a single scale or cascading multiple scales, such as joints, bones, and body-parts. However, they are difficult to simultaneously capture spatial-temporal motion patterns of the human body at different scales due to the complex motion patterns. To address this issue, we propose Dual-scale Spatial and Temporal transFormer (DSTFormer), which can concurrently explore the spatial dependencies and temporal motion patterns of human joints and bones. Additionally, we introduce a Gcn-Spatial Transformer Block (GSTB), which introduces Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN) into transformer to enhance the exploitation of local relationships and global information between adjacent joints or bones. Extensive experiments are conducted on the Human3.6M benchmark dataset, and superior results are reported when comparing to other state-of-the-art methods. More remarkably, our model achieves to-date the best published performance, with P1 errors of 37.9 mm and 15.6 mm, respectively.

Within online social networks, the rapid expansion of automated accounts, known as social bots, poses a significant challenge. This dynamic has sparked a strategic contest between bots and detectors. Both sides continually learn and adjust their strategies to gain an edge in this silent war. To effectively manage risks from bot evolution, proactive detection methods have garnered widespread attention. In this work, we propose a graph-based and structure-aware adversarial learning framework for multi-category social bot detection. In detail, we adopt a categorical generative adversarial network to create synthetic evolved bot samples for adversarial learning, aiming to boost the detection performance. Besides, we design a user representation learning module, including local and remote feature extractors to mine neighborhood information and achieve multiple network structure representations. Results demonstrate that our model outperforms state-of-the-art approaches and exhibits strong robustness.

Organisms have evolved innate and acquired immune systems to defend against pathogens like coronaviruses. Similarly, power networks, threatened by cyber-attacks, desire cyber-immunity. Inspired by the immunology research, this study develops a cyber-immune strategy-characterizing innate cyber-immunity and establishing acquired cyber-immunity-for any selected portion of a power network (termed as power subnetwork) against stealthy false data injection (FDI) cyberattacks. Therein, without extrinsic protection and information asymmetry, this paper for the first time confirms the existence and provides closed-form conditions for power subnetworks that are innately immune to FDI cyber-attacks despite all measurements being compromised. Single-leader-multi-follower bi-level optimization models are then developed to strategically allocate measurement protection, leading to the acquired cyber-immunity, whose conditions for existence and the least cost are explicitly formulated. More importantly, a bi-directional cyber-immunity propagation mechanism is presented to provide the optimal spatial allocation of defense resources across adjacent subnetworks. It also explicitly determines the temporal allocation sequence, revealing its sequential and cumulative impacts on establishing cyber-immunity. This is achieved by designing recursive traversal algorithms, one of which is modelled as a post-order depth-first-search problem of a multi-fork tree. The proposed subnetwork-specific cyber-immune strategy is verified in a modified Australian National Electricity Market. © 1969-2012 IEEE.
