This paper presents a transformation method capable of analytically converting the given differential equations of dynamic models for a four-phase interleaved boost converter (IBC) coupled with a PEMFC into a Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy inference model (TS fuzzy model). This transformation enables the utilization of various parallel distributed compensation (PDC) controller design techniques. By combining the transformation method with PDC techniques, a framework for controller design is established. The proposed controller aims to improve the robustness and stabilization of the output voltage equilibrium point while minimizing the PEMFC current overshoot within a specified limit of the PEMFC current ripple, thereby providing protection. The stability of the proposed controller is proven using the Lyapunov theorem. An LMI condition is developed to synthesize the controller gains. The effectiveness of the PDC controller is further evaluated using Matlab Simulink.

The management of wastewater is a significant global concern that calls for innovative solutions to lessen its negative effects on the environment. Conventional techniques of treating wastewater need improvement in order to deal with newly discovered contaminants, which highlights the importance of providing precise estimates of process performance and resource requirements. The worsening water shortage situation requires a paradigm shift in which wastewater is viewed as a useful resource. It is possible to create an economy that is both sustainable and circular by treating and recycling wastewater, putting less pressure on freshwater supplies, and leaving as little of an environmental footprint as possible. This study investigates the use of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) as software estimators in the treatment of wastewater, with a particular emphasis on predicting ammonium concentrations in effluent. In order to deal with imbalanced time-series data, the research introduces innovative data pretreatment strategies. These techniques include a Sliding Window protocol, Data Normalization, and a K-Fold training scheme. This illustrates the potential of ANNs to revolutionize wastewater treatment procedures and drive developments in this field. The suggested method demonstrates higher performance when estimating pollutant concentrations, showing the ability of ANNs to do so.

A cost-effective IoT-based real-time data acquisition and analysis hardware system was developed to enhance the performance of the mobile harbor cranes using a combination of a cost-effective quality control monitoring sensor dashboard (proximity sensors, angle position sensor, weight sensor, vibration sensor, and wind sensor), embedded microcontroller (Arduino), and embedded computer (Raspberry Pi). Hardware was operated using a specially developed novel Quality control and Data Acquisition Multiprocessing software (QC-DAS). The QC-DAS can automatically collect and save real-time data of the sensors in a large-capacity SD card, monitor the state of health of the hardware, and transmit the real-time data of the sensors and the working state of the crane to an IoT server. The novelty of the QC-DAS design is that each function is encapsulated in a predefined module that is “immersed” in a message transmission medium. Modules interact by sending and receiving various signals through this medium. Modularity makes system design simpler, faster, and flexible. Thanks to modularity, users may incorporate their data processing modules when new sensors are added to match the system's needs. Thanks to modularity the DC-DAS can operate quality control hardware for any mobile cranes. There are several constraints in the quality control data acquisition system used by the Damietta Port Authority in Damietta, Egypt, SESCO TRANS company which cause the loading and unloading process to be slowed down. As a result, the SESCO TRANS company upgraded its quality control data acquisition system using the QC-DAS. The hardware was deployed for six months, during which the collected data was used to verify the crane's performance. This article is devoted to the development of Intelligent Verbal Interaction Methods with Non-Player Characters in Metaverse Applications. The creation of a character model using MetaHuman Creator and the implementation of dialogue animation are considered. The construction of answers based on text analysis and their submission to the chat window is described. The system has been tested and found to be stable and have a satisfactory response time of approximately 2 seconds. The results show the successful implementation of methods of verbal interaction with non-game characters in metaverse, which can be useful for further research and development in this area.

In this paper we deal with stochastic optimization problems where the data distributions change in response to the decision variables. Traditionally, the study of optimization problems with decision-dependent distributions has assumed either the absence of constraints or fixed constraints. This work considers a more general setting where the constraints can also dynamically adjust in response to changes in the decision variables. Specifically, we consider linear constraints and analyze the effect of decision-dependent distributions in both the objective function and constraints. Firstly, we establish a sufficient condition for the existence of a constrained equilibrium point, at which the distributions remain invariant under retraining. Moreover, we propose and analyze two algorithms: repeated constrained optimization and repeated dual ascent. For each algorithm, we provide sufficient conditions for convergence to the constrained equilibrium point. Furthermore, we explore the relationship between the equilibrium point and the optimal point for the constrained decision-dependent optimization problem. Notably, our results encompass previous findings as special cases when the constraints remain fixed. To show the effectiveness of our theoretical analysis, we provide numerical experiments on both a market problem and a dynamic pricing problem for parking based on real-world data. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

We consider the problems of computing the average degree and the size of a given network in a distributed fashion under quantized communication. We present two distributed algorithms which rely on quantized operation (i.e., nodes process and transmit quantized messages), and are able to calculate the exact solutions in a finite number of steps. Furthermore, during the operation of our algorithms, each node is able to determine in a distributed manner whether convergence has been achieved and thus terminate its operation. To the best of the authors’ knowledge these algorithms are the first to find the exact solutions under quantized communication (i.e., there is no error in the final calculation). Additionally, note that our network size calculation algorithm is the first in the literature which calculates the exact size of a network in a finite number of steps without introducing a final error. This error in other algorithms can be either due to quantization or asymptotic convergence. In our case, no error is introduced since the desired result is calculated in the form of a fraction involving a quantized numerator and a quantized denominator. In this paper, we focus on the problem of data sharing over a wireless computer network (i.e., a wireless grid). Given a set of available data, we present a distributed algorithm, which operates over a dynamically changing network and allows each node to calculate the optimal allocation of data in a finite number of time steps. We show that our proposed algorithm (i) converges to the optimal solution in finite time with very high probability, and (ii) once the optimal solution is reached, each node is able to cease transmissions without needing knowledge of a global parameter such as the network diameter. Furthermore, our algorithm (i) operates exclusively with quantized values (i.e., each node processes and transmits quantized information), (ii) relies on event-driven updates, and (iii) calculates the optimal solution in the form of a quantized fraction which avoids errors due to quantization. Finally, we demonstrate the operation, performance, and potential advantages of our algorithm over random dynamic networks.

In this paper we investigate the design of optimal spatially distributed controllers for a linear and spatially invariant reaction-diffusion process over the real line. The controller receives state measurements from different spatial locations with non-negligible delays. In this set-up and for the class of proportional spatially invariant state feedback controllers, the optimal control synthesis problem is equivalent to a feedback gain optimization for a spatially distributed delay system. We show that the spatial locality of optimal feedback gains is affected not only by diffusion and reaction coefficients, but also by the parameter representing communication time-delay that causes a sharp flattening of the control gains. In the expensive control regime, the optimal controller is solved analytically, yielding some practical design guidelines.

A population randomization-based multi-objective genetic algorithm for gesture adaptation in human-robot interaction

In recent years, vision-based gesture adaptation has attracted great attention from many experts in the field of human-robot interaction, and many methods have been proposed and successfully applied, such as particle swarm optimization and genetic algorithm. However, the reduction of the error and energy consumption of a robot while paying attention to more subtle attitude changes is very important and *** view of these problems, we propose a population randomization-based multi-objective genetic *** gesture signal is processed with a slight change by imitating the biological evolution mechanisms. In the proposed algorithm, a random out-of-order matrix is added in the process of population evolution synthesis to prevent the premature grouping convergence of the new population. The weights of the objective function and the elite retention strategy are adopted, and the most adaptable individuals in each generation are inherited directly in the next generation without any recombination or mutation. To verify the effectiveness of the algorithm, preliminary application experiments are performed on the gesture adaptation of a robotic arm. The results are compared with the original signal, and the comparison shows that by using the proposed method, the energy consumption is reduced, and the end error is decreased to less than 3 mm while ensuring the tracking effect of the robotic arm. These obtained results meet the communication requirements for human-robot interactions such as handshakes. Moreover, the proposed method has better performance, uses less energy, and has a smaller tracking error than the particle swarm optimization, the single-objective genetic algorithm, and the traditional multi-objective genetic algorithm. A preliminary application experiment indicates that the robotic arm can adapt to human gestures in real time.
