In this paper, we study an office building connected to an urban distribution network from an energy community perspective. The office building and its electrical equipment have a real-world counterpart from which we construct synthetic time series based on the historical measurement data. The office building involves three stakeholders and their assets. The central stakeholders are the owner and the tenant of the building. The third stakeholder is the operator of flexible assets. The smartness of the office building is related to the control capabilities of its assets. These controllable assets are the battery energy storage system (BESS) and the electric vehicles (EV) charging system (EVCS) that both can operate in a flexible manner in response to energy price fluctuations and participate in a reserve market. We proposed different cases where either the owner or the tenant is paying the EV charging, and where the flexibility of the EV charging is either active or not. We show that, when the owner pays for the energy usage of the EVCS and the tenant is using it, there is a beneficial case to form a coalition between them and share the benefits from the flexibility, as otherwise there is no incentive for the tenant to be flexible in the first place. We conducted operative cost-benefit calculations where we shared the community benefits according to the Shapley value and simulated the power flows at the building's connection point based on the market operations. We found that harnessing benefits from the two market operations had significant effects on the power flows at the connection point. This was true when operating under the variable energy prices and in the reserve market.

The role of learning media greatly supports the learning process, increasing motivation and interest in the process. Learning media can also be a place to improve competence optimally through bootcamp training menus and the like with more specific training objectives. The main objective of this study is to develop a gamification-based website to enhance students’ preparedness for their Final Competency Test by tackling challenges in comprehending programming absent practical experience. The learning method implemented in this website is case-based learning that integrates dynamic coding activities. The research method uses the Plomp approach with 3 main stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment stage. The trial of the gamification website began with media and content validation followed by small group testing and large group testing. Validation by media and material experts led to the execution of small group trials (95.7%) and large group trials (91.7%), producing exceptionally positive outcomes. The results of the small group test with 12 respondents produced a very suitable value with a score of 95.7 and the large group test with 27 respondents produced a score of $\mathbf{9 1. 7 \%}$ with very suitable criteria. This indicates that the web-based platform is highly viable for assisting vocational students in acquiring software development skills, enhancing their preparedness for practical IT positions such as software developers and system analysts. Subsequent study involved the incorporation of gamification, such as computer-supported collaborative learning.

We study the problem of synthesizing a controller to satisfy a complex task in the presence of sensor faults and attacks. We model the task using Gaussian distribution temporal logic (GDTL), and propose a solution approach that does not rely on computing any finite abstraction to model the system. We decompose the GDTL specification into a sequence of reach-avoid sub-tasks. We develop a class of fault-tolerant finite time convergence control barrier functions (CBFs) to guarantee that a dynamical system reaches a set within finite time almost surely in the presence of malicious attacks. We use the fault-tolerant finite time convergence CBFs to guarantee the satisfaction of ‘reach’ property. We ensure ‘avoid’ part in each sub-task using fault-tolerant zeroing CBFs. These fault-tolerant CBFs formulate a set of linear constraints on the control input for each sub-task. We prove that if the error incurred by system state estimation is bounded by a certain threshold, then our synthesized controller fulfills each reach-avoid sub-task almost surely for any possible sensor fault and attack, and thus the GDTL specification is satisfied with probability one. We demonstrate our proposed approach using a numerical study on the coordination of two wheeled mobile robots.

The outline of the project and the up-to-date status and the progress of the power transmission system towards the realization of the Space Solar Power System (SSPS) will be presented including newly started power transmission demonstration project from the LEO satellite to the ground based on the established technologies by the development projects preceded. Japan Space systems and organized team have been engaged in the SSPS project for more than 30 years and the current power transmission system development project for SSPS was started under METI in the year 2019. The project consisted of three major tasks. The first is to develop system and to establish necessary technologies for so called power generation and transmission panel (PGTP) whose size is about 50 cm square and 10 cm thick, and the target weight should be less than 9 kg. This panel is going to be a unit to consist of the practical power generation and transmission system from the space for the operational SSPS in the GEO as the goal. The second is to improve the total efficiency from DC input to output RF power to exceed 60%. The third is to demonstrate long-range wireless power transmission from flying vehicle to the ground. And then, the power transmission demonstration experiment project from the LEO to the ground with 150kg class satellite started at the end of the year 2022, and is going to be introduced in this paper. This project consisted of the power beaming and configuring technologies from the on the orbit phase array transmission system integrated on the LEO satellite to the ground distributed beam configuration measuring system, and also to demonstrate power transmission based on the preceding development results. A wheelchair is a specialized form of Personal Mobility Vehicle (PMV) designed to help people with disabilities move safely to their desired locations. Unlike conventional PMVs, wheelchairs for people with disabilities are challenging to manually control in environments with heavy traffic. This study focuses on designing and feasibility testing of control systems for PMVs to meet safety and efficiency standards, even in complex environments. First, a control structure model for PMVs is proposed. This is followed by the application of a combination of First In First Out (FIFO) and Dijkstra traffic control methods to determine effective trajectories for PMVs. The proposed control system is then tested on the campus of the University of Transport and Communications. Simulation results show that when comparing the travel time of 10 PMVs, the order execution time for each PMV remains stable (within 10%) for up to 20 PMVs. However, when the number of PMVs increases to 25, 30, 35, and 40 vehicles, the order execution time increases by 35%, 55%, 103%, and 119%, respectively. These results demonstrate that the system can control a large number of PMVs, ensuring safety, flexibility, and efficiency. © 2024 Budapest University of Technology and Economics. In this paper a motion profile design for unmanned aerial vehicles is proposed which method is able to guarantee safe collision-free motion. The motivations of the work are provided by the uncertainties of covered areas by the vehicles, and also the need of high performance fast vehicle motion. The uncertain information on the environment for detecting Conflict areas is processed through clustering and Mahalanobis-distance-based filtering methods. The resulted Conflict areas are involved in the motion design method, which is facilitated through reinforcement learning. This paper shows the application of the method on a drone that moves together with a mobile robot in the same environment. The safe and high performance motion of the drone is illustrated through simulation example.

Clustering large amount of data is becoming increasingly important in the current times. Due to the large sizes of data, clustering algorithm often take too much time. Sampling this data before clustering is commonly used to reduce this time. In this work, we propose a probabilistic sampling technique called cube sampling along with K-Prototype clustering. Cube sampling is used because of its accurate sample selection. K-Prototype is most frequently used clustering algorithm when the data is numerical as well as categorical (very common in today's time). The novelty of this work is in obtaining the crucial inclusion probabilities for cube sampling using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Experiments on multiple datasets from the UCI repository demonstrate that cube sampled K-Prototype algorithm gives the best clustering accuracy among similarly sampled other popular clustering algorithms (K-Means, Hierarchical Clustering (HC), Spectral Clustering (SC)). When compared with unsampled K-Prototype, K-Means, HC and SC, it still has the best accuracy with the added advantage of reduced computational complexity (due to reduced data size). © 2021 IEEE.

Terahertz (THz) band communication technology will be used in the sixth-generation (6G) networks to enable high-speed and high-capacity data service demands. However, THz-communication losses arise owing to limitations, i.e., molecular absorption, rain attenuation, and coverage range. Furthermore, to maintain steady THz-communications and overcome coverage distances in rural and suburban regions, the required number of base stations (BSs) is very high. Consequently, a new communication platform that enables aerial communication services is required. Furthermore, the airborne platform supports line-of-sight (LoS) communications rather than non-LoS (NLoS) communications, which helps overcome these losses. Therefore, in this work, we investigate the deployment and resource optimization for multi-access edge computing (MEC)-enabled unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which can provide THz-based communications in remote regions. To this end, we formulate an optimization problem to minimize the sum of the energy consumption of both MEC-UAV and mobile users (MUs) and the delay incurred by MUs under the given task information. The formulated problem is a mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) problem, which is NP-hard. We decompose the main problem into two subproblems to address the formulated problem. We solve the first subproblem with a standard optimization solver, i.e., CVXPY, due to its convex nature. To solve the second subproblem, we design a resources-based multi-agent proximal policy optimization (RMAPPO) deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithm with an attention mechanism. The considered attention mechanism is utilized for encoding a diverse number of observations. This is designed by the network coordinator to provide a differentiated fit reward to each agent in the network. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the benchmark and yields a network utility which is 2.22%, 15.55%, and 17.77% more than the benchmarks. Copyright © 2

With the rapid development of the satellite industry, the information transmission network based on communication satellites has gradually become a major and important part of the future satellite ground integration network. However, the low transmission efficiency of the satellite data relay back mission has become a problem that is currently constraining the construction of the system and needs to be solved urgently. Effectively planning the task of satellite ground networking by reasonably scheduling resources is crucial for the efficient transmission of task data. In this paper, we hope to provide a task execution scheme that maximizes the profit of the networking task for satellite ground network planning considering feeding mode (SGNPFM). To solve the SGNPFM problem, a mixed-integer planning model with the objective of maximizing the gain of the link-building task is constructed, which considers various constraints of the satellite in the feed-switching mode. Based on the problem characteristics, we propose a distance similarity-based genetic optimization algorithm (DSGA), which considers the state characteristics between the tasks and introduces a weighted Euclidean distance method to determine the similarity between the tasks. To obtain more high-quality solutions, different similarity evaluation methods are designed to assist the algorithm in intelligently screening individuals. The DSGAalso uses an adaptive crossover strategy based on similarity mechanism, which guides the algorithm to achieve efficient population search. In addition, a task scheduling algorithm considering the feed-switching mode is designed for decoding the algorithm to generate a highquality scheme. The results of simulation experiments show that the DSGA can effectively solve the SGNPFM problem. The collaboration of computing powers (CPs) among unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)-mounted edge servers is essential to handle data-intensive tasks of user equipments (UEs). This paper presents a multi-UAV computing power network (CPN) that orchestrates the CP resources of edge servers to cooperatively process tasks through collaborative computing. Due to the frequent interactions among edge servers and the increased complexities for large-scale task executions, we propose a digital twin (DT)-driven multi-UAV CPN framework, where the aerial DT network is created as a digital replica of the multi-UAV network to assist collaborative computing. A joint optimization problem of the service association, offloading power control, task partitions, CP allocation, and UAV trajectory design is formulated to minimize the long-term average delay of UEs. We use the Lyapunov technique to tackle the long-term energy constraint, forming a tractable optimization problem, which is modeled as a Markov decision process to balance the UAV's deficit queue stability and the UE's task completion delay. A hybrid soft actor-critic based deep reinforcement learning algorithm is developed to optimize the joint design by sampling the hybrid action from the Gumbel and Gaussian distributions. Simulation results verify that the multi-UAV CPN contributes to significant performance gains when supported by DTs. © 2025 IEEE.
