Image segmentation of sea-land remote sensing images is of great importance for downstream applications including shoreline extraction,the monitoring of near-shore marine environment,and near-shore target *** mitigate large number of parameters and improve the segmentation accuracy,we propose a new Squeeze-Depth-Wise UNet(SDW-UNet)deep learning model for sea-land remote sensing image *** proposed SDW-UNet model leverages the squeeze-excitation and depth-wise separable convolution to construct new convolution modules,which enhance the model capacity in combining multiple channels and reduces the model *** further explore the effect of position-encoded information in NLP(Natural Language Processing)domain on sea-land segmentation *** have conducted extensive experiments to compare the proposed network with the mainstream segmentation network in terms of accuracy,the number of parameters and the time cost for *** test results on remote sensing data sets of Guam,Okinawa,Taiwan China,San Diego,and Diego Garcia demonstrate the effectiveness of SDW-UNet in recognizing different types of sea-land areas with a smaller number of parameters,reduces prediction time cost and improves performance over other mainstream segmentation *** also show that the position encoding can further improve the accuracy of model segmentation.

Personal health records and electronic health records are considered as the most sensitive information in the healthcare *** solutions have been provided for implementing the digital health system using blockchain,but there are several challenges,such as secure access control and privacy is one of the prominent ***,we propose a novel framework and implemented an attribute-based access control system using ***,we have also integrated artificial intelligence(AI)based approach to identify the behavior and activity for security *** current methods only focus on the related clinical records received from a medical ***,existing methods are too inflexible to resourcefully sustenance metadata changes.A secure patient data access framework is proposed in this research,integrating blockchain,trust chain,and blockchain methods to overcome these problems in the literature for sharing and accessing digital healthcare *** have used a neural network and classifier to categorize the user access to our proposed *** proposed scheme provides an intelligent and secure blockchain-based access control system in the digital healthcare *** results surpass the existing solutions by collecting attributes such as the number of transactions,number of nodes,transaction delay,block creation,and signature verification time.

We developed an Authentic GeometryGo (AGG) app to help students application of geometry in authentic contexts through authentic measurements and peer assessments. The study included an experimental group (EG) using an AGG app and a control group (CG) using paper-based methods. The results showed that the EG outperformed the CG in terms of estimation. Measuring authentic geometry shapes using the app could foster students' estimation. Furthermore, meaningful peer assessments with visual representations in authentic contexts can facilitate the evaluation of peers' work and improve students' geometry understanding. Therefore, we encourage educators to use augmented reality with appropriate learning activities to sharpen students' measurement quality and visual representations by measuring real geometry shapes and applying mathematics knowledge in authentic contexts. © 2008-2011 IEEE.

Ecosystems are undergoing unprecedented persistent deterioration due to unsustainable anthropogenic human activities,such as overfishing and deforestation,and the effects of such damage on ecological stability are *** recent advances in experimental and theoretical studies on regime shifts and tipping points,theoretical tools for understanding the extinction chain,which is the sequence of species extinctions resulting from overexploitation,are still lacking,especially for large-scale nonlinear networked *** this study,we developed a mathematical tool to predict regime shifts and extinction chains in ecosystems under multiple exploitation situations and verified it in 26 real-world mutualistic networks of various sizes and *** discovered five phases during the exploitation process:safe,partial extinction,bistable,tristable,and collapse,which enabled the optimal design of restoration strategies for degraded or collapsed *** validated our approach using a 20-year dataset from an eelgrass restoration ***,we also found a specific region in the diagram spanning exploitation rates and competition intensities,where exploiting more species helps increase *** computational tool provides insights into harvesting,fishing,exploitation,or deforestation plans while conserving or restoring the biodiversity of mutualistic ecosystems.

Hierarchical networks are frequently encountered in animal groups,gene networks,and artificial engineering systems such as multiple robots,unmanned vehicle systems,smart grids,wind farm networks,and so *** structure of a large directed hierarchical network is often strongly influenced by reverse edges from lower-to higher-level nodes,such as lagging birds’howl in a flock or the opinions of lowerlevel individuals feeding back to higher-level ones in a social *** study reveals that,for most large-scale real hierarchical networks,the majority of the reverse edges do not affect the synchronization process of the entire network;the synchronization process is influenced only by a small part of these reverse edges along specific *** surprisingly,a single effective reverse edge can slow down the synchronization of a huge hierarchical network by over 60%.The effect of such edges depends not on the network size but only on the average in-degree of the involved *** overwhelming majority of active reverse edges turn out to have some kind of“bunching”effect on the information flows of hierarchical networks,which slows down synchronization *** finding refines the current understanding of the role of reverse edges in many natural,social,and engineering hierarchical networks,which might be beneficial for precisely tuning the synchronization rhythms of these *** study also proposes an effective way to attack a hierarchical network by adding a malicious reverse edge to it and provides some guidance for protecting a network by screening out the specific small proportion of vulnerable nodes.

Internet communication is used as a mode of engagement by businesses, organizations, and even nations in a variety of contexts. As a result, both the quantity of data produced and the importance of the information that can be derived from it are growing. Multiple safeguards are required in order to ensure that the accessibility, integrity, and confidentiality of company information and assets are maintained. When it comes to protecting the privacy of a company and its reputation, adopting countermeasures and minimizing the damage caused by irreversible cyberattacks are both very crucial. It is possible to utilize both active and passive attack tactics, as well as social engineering tests, to evaluate the weaknesses of a corporation's cyber security. The identification and ranking of vulnerabilities both play an active part in the process of raising the level of corporate awareness, as well as closing shortfalls and enhancing measures. In this investigation, ethics committee reports and confidentiality agreements were followed in order to do a cyber security vulnerability assessment on seven separate organizations. These organizations represented the governmental sector, the corporate sector, and the civil society. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the firms' cyber security infrastructures, security scans such as port, web, application-based system and network penetration tests, distributed denial of service attacks, and social engineering were carried out. The Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) was used in order to change the base score of each institution and to identify the vulnerabilities that were present. Enterprise networks, Cyber Security Analysis, Cyber Attacks, Penetration, and Vulnerability are some of the Keywords that can be found in this article. © 2024 IEEE.

According to census and statistics department of Sri Lanka, more than 30, 000 accidents occurred from 2013 to 2019. More than two thousand are fatal in this time-period. When considering the top 10 causes of deaths in Sri Lanka, road accidents is at 10th place. Drink and drive, fatigue, drowsiness, distracted driving and driving without a valid license are root causes to these accidents. 20% of the accidents are caused by the drivers without a valid driving license. Currently there is no automated system built using IoT to verify driver's license. A system to check drowsy driving, distracted driving and driver intoxication is also lacking in the society. By analyzing the data, smart license detection and accident prevention system was proposed to identify and validate driver's license using RFID. The proposed system also facilitates sub-systems to check driver's drowsiness, fatigue, alcohol level and driver distracted or not using Raspberry Pi camera module based on computer vision using TensorFlow Lite. An initialized sub-system detects the intensity of the brake pedal being engaged using pressure sensor. The system analyzes the pressure and indicate the intensity level accordingly using the brake light brightness. While these sub systems reduce the probability of occurring an accident, airbag detection sub system reduce the fatality rate of an accident by detecting the deployment of airbags and informing the nearest police station and hospital about an accident using GSM module and SMS Gateway API. The proposed system will reduce the number of accidents occurring throughout the year. © 2022 IEEE.

We present in depth study of p-type doping concentration of mid-wave infrared (MWIR) and long-wave infrared (LWIR) mercury cadmium Telluride (HgCdTe) thin films. Annealing time was changed under specific conditions to achieve a stable copper (Cu) doping concentration for HgCdTe thin films. Both MWIR and LWIR HgCdTe material were grown by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), where different trends were observed between LWIR and MWIR HgCdTe thin films by increasing anneal time. We also report the impact of different thickness (4µm, 6µm and 9µm) along with annealing time on doping level of LWIR HgCdTe thin films. © 2025, CC BY-NC-ND.

Interconnected systems such as power systems and chemical processes are often required to satisfy safety properties in the presence of faults and attacks. Verifying safety of these systems, however, is computationally challenging due to nonlinear dynamics, high dimensionality, and combinatorial number of possible faults and attacks that can be incurred by the subsystems interconnected within the network. In this paper, we develop a compositional resilience index to verify safety properties of interconnected systems under faults and attacks. The resilience index is a tuple serving the following two purposes. First, it quantifies how a safety property is impacted when a subsystem is compromised by faults and attacks. Second, the resilience index characterizes the needed behavior of a subsystem during normal operations to ensure safety violations will not occur when future adverse events occur. We develop a set of sufficient conditions on the dynamics of each subsystem to satisfy its safety constraint, and leverage these conditions to formulate an optimization program to compute the resilience index. When multiple subsystems are interconnected and their resilience indices are given, we show that the safety constraints of the interconnected system can be efficiently verified by solving a system of linear inequalities. We demonstrate our developed resilience index using a numerical case study on chemical reactors connected in series. © 2023 IEEE.

Cloud server data security makes extensive use of data centers and instantly accessible edge systems for possible transactions involving sizable and confidential data. These Edge systems are chosen for rental based on their usefulness in situations where new privacy and security difficulties must be overcome. The use of Edge systems is subject to dynamic mobility, which increases the danger of attacking threats. With this suggested approach, the Defensive Auto-updatable and Adaptable Bot Recommender approach (DAABRS) is used by the Cloud Center to identify the safeguarded Edge System. Cloud Data Centers with Edge systems contain a variety of users and environments, making it simple for attackers to enter anonymously and compromise Edge System privacy. The most effective security measure against increasing risks and assaults for Edge systems that rent more cloud storage is to use Stealth Mode Bots inside of data segments. In addition to anticipating and averting data breaches in server partitioning, tenant systems, edge systems, and containers by integrating stealth mode bots into each. Suggested use cases: Tenants, Edge systems, or Containers for effective security-enhanced Stealth Mode Bots that are activated when a particular data segment is unplugged. Updatable and adaptive bots are used in the suggested strategy to counter Edge strategy assaults. Additionally, it uses Stealth Mode Bots to stop heavily attacked Data Containers, and machine learning will be used to update specifications to identify and prevent further assaults. © 2024 IEEE.
