Pass-over in wireless sensor network routing occurs when a query agent passes over an event agent without discovering each other. Even if the two agents eventually meet, the number of hop count may add up as a result of that. In this paper we examine the pass-over problem extensively through numerical analysis and simulations. Numerical analyses (and simulation results) reveal that probability of pass- over in the context of rumor routing can be as high as 97.5% (and 92%). The outcomes indicate the seriousness of pass-over and should not be overlooked. Technique is proposed to resolve the issue. By integrating the proposed technique into rumor routing, pass-over occurrences can be eliminated completely according to our simulations, which then results in higher routing success rate and shorter routing paths.

Reduction of carbon emissions is of paramount importance in the context of global warming. Countries and global companies are now engaged in understanding systematic ways of achieving well defined emission targets. In fact, carbon credits have become significant and strategic instruments of finance for countries and global companies. In this paper, we formulate and suggest a solution to the carbon allocation problem, which involves determining a cost minimizing allocation of carbon credits among different emitting agents. We address this challenge in the context of a global company which is faced with the challenge of determining an allocation of carbon credit caps among its divisions in a cost effective way. The problem is formulated as a reverse auction problem where the company plays the role of a buyer or carbon planning authority and the different divisions within the company are the emitting agents that specify cost curves for carbon credit reductions. Two natural variants of the problem: (a) with unlimited budget and (b) with limited budget are considered. Suitable assumptions are made on the cost curves and in each of the two cases we show that the resulting problem formulation is a knapsack problem that can be solved optimally using a greedy heuristic. The solution of the allocation problem provides critical decision support to global companies engaged seriously in green programs.

The major purpose of this paper is to establish a Sports E-learning Platform in order to provide athletic related teaching materials, such as physical motions and exercise rules. The platform can integrate the Multimedia teaching materials which include video and 2D animation. Multimedia contents of teaching material not only increase the learning efficient but also the interesting of learning, especially in the area of Physical education. The design concept of our works is based on ADDIE model of ISD (Instruction System Design) theory with the purposes of analysis, design, development, implementation, & evaluation. Via the usage of this physical education E-learning platform, we hope to let players perform efficient self learning for sports skills, indirectly foster mutual help, cooperation, nice norms of law-abiding via the learning of athletic rules, and become skilled at accurate recreation knowledge & first aid expertise. This paper discusses methods to perform large-scale circuit simulation for MOSFET circuits containing lossy coupled transmission lines that appear in modern circuit design community. ITA (Iterated Timing Analysis) algorithm and a time-domain transmission line calculation method are used, and the latency-checking strategy is used to greatly accelerate these algorithms. The result of this paper has provided a feasible way to simulate large-scale MOSFET circuits with interconnects.

An improved mechanism called Scan First 3 Channels (SF3C) is developed to reduce the communicating frequency among devices and PAN Coordinator. The throughput and energy consumption are major performance indexes for it. Meanwhile, the beacon-enabled mode for broadcast transmissions in WPAN has higher flexibility than the non-beacon -enabled mode. Information flow and business workflow within an organization are close related. While organizational information infrastructures becomes more and more complex, disasters or accidents usually cause serious damages and losses to organizations and individuals, sometimes even force companies to withdraw from markets. Hence, many organizations consider disaster recovery as an important issue regarding to their business continuity managements. Disaster recovery allows an organization restore its business from consequences of various accidents. However, the consequences of an accident on a system usually depend on the statuses of systems interconnected to the system. While evaluating system risks, interdependent systems should be considered together. Usually under cost constrains, organizations seldom adopt N-to-N schemes while implementing their backup systems. In this paper, we propose a system backup model based on risk dependency considering overall availability of interconnected mutual backup systems. There are four types of interdependencies in information systems, fully dependent, partially dependent, multiple dependent and indirect dependent will be defined. The overall availability of systems with fundamental interconnection topologies, serial connection and parallel connection, will also be discussed and calculated in detail.

In circuit simulation, Relaxation-based algorithms have been proven to be faster and more flexible than the standard direct approach used in SPICE. ITA (Iterated Timing Analysis) algorithm has even been widely used in industry. This paper describes a new accelerating technique using the latency property of subcircuits and other accelerating methods based on Strength of Signal flow (SSF) for ITA algorithm. The definition of SSF, calculation method, and methods to utilize SSF all have been illustrated clearly. Experimental examples are given to justify the superior property of these proposed methods. A more powerful strategy for enhancing ITA is also designed and carefully justified.
