Being a new software paradigm evolved by the Internet, Internetware brings many challenges to the traditional software methods and techniques. Sponsored by the national basic research program (973), researchers in China have developed an architecture centric technical framework for the definition, incarnation and engineering of Internetware. First of all, a software model for Internetware is defined for what to be, including that Internetware entities should be packaged as components, behaving as agents, interoperating as services, collaborating in a structured and on demand manner, etc. Secondly, a middleware for Internetware is designed and implemented for how to be, including that Internetware entities are incarnated by runtime containers, structured collaborations are enabled by runtime software architecture, Internetware can be managed in a reflective and autonomic manner, etc. Thirdly, an engineering methodology for Internetware is proposed for how to do, including the way to develop Internetware entities and their collaborations by transforming and refining a set of software architectures which cover all the phases of software lifecycle, the way to identify and organize the disordered software assets by domain modeling, etc.

Automatic recognition of Source document was the bottleneck of account information system. Artificial neural network was applied in the recognition. Negative data must be the necessary trained samples when training the classifier. The classifier could decrease some kind of recognition error. The error was that refuse recognition was not successful in inputting negative data. The experiment results showed that the classifier could deduce the error and the error rate reach the zero.

This paper deals with the problem of Cross Language Text Categorization (CLTC), which arises when documents in different language need to be classified. We propose a new model of CLTC that based on interlingua semantics, which constructs a unified framework to extract the interlingua semantic pairs from the parallel corpus. All these semantic pairs can maximally represent the original cross language information. This interlingua model are exploited to define a generalized similarity function (i.e. kernel function.) among documents in different languages, which is used inside a Support Vector Machines classification framework. The preliminary experiment results show that our models have the potentials for Cross Language Text Categorization.

Data broadcasting is independent of client arrival rate, and thus it is very suitable to transmit popular videos that interest many clients at a particular period of time. One broadcasting method (called periodic broadcasting) is to partition a video into segments, which are then simultaneously broadcast on several data channels. Once clients want to watch the video, they download the segments from these channels. Specially, the skyscraper broadcasting (SkB), client-centric approach (CCA), greedy disk-conserving broadcasting (GDB) schemes were proposed to support a client with a small bandwidth. This paper presents a limited-client-capability broadcasting (LCCB) scheme, which achieves small waiting time, bandwidth consumption, and buffer demand on the client side. In comparison with SkB, CCA, and GDB, LCCB gains smaller waiting time. Extensive simulation results indicate that LCCB also requires lower client buffer spaces than SkB, CCA, and GDB.

Hierarchical genetic algorithms (HGA) as a tool for a search and optimizing methodology has now reached a mature stage. The minimum resource facility to carry user traffic which is called a channel unit (CU) is composed of the IEEE 802.16 medium access control (MAC) protocol. The control of the number of CU depending on traffic load solves heterogeneous and asymmetrical traffic problem in 4G system. In a cellular network, the call arrival rate, the call duration and the communication overhead between the base stations and the control center are vague and uncertain. Whether the criteria of concern be nonlinear, constrained, discrete or NP hard. In this paper, the HGA is used to tackle the neural network (NN) topology as well as the fuzzy logic controller for the dynamic CUs allocation scheme in wireless access net-works. Therefore, we propose a new efficient HGA CUs allocation (HGACA) in cellular networks. It aims to efficiently satisfy their diverse quality-of-service (QoS) requirements of multimedia traffic. The results show that our algorithm has lower blocking rate, lower dropping rate, less update overhead, and shorter channel acquisition delay than previous methods.

Academic education of engineers and natural scientists has to be adapted to today's social and economic needs. One of the goals of the project GALILEA [1] is to design and implement innovative new undergraduate courses that attract a gender-balanced ratio of students at the Berlin Institute of Technology. In this article we describe the design and implementation of an exemplary new course. The bachelor course of "Natural sciences in the Information Society" was the first of the GALILEA courses starting in winter term 2007/08. Its goals and innovations are illustrated in detail.
